Preston Ray (pmray) | 7 comments Hi Mich,

At the moment I am all over the place also, reading
Mistborn The Final Empire (Mistborn, #1) by Brandon Sanderson
Women, Armies, and Warfare in Early Modern Europe by John A. Lynn
The Vigilantes (The Superiors, #2) by Lena Hillbrand
and Memoirs of Sergeant Bourgogne by Paul Cottin

Mich | 5 comments PM- Did you read Superiors#1?
Is this series worth the read you think?

message 4: by Preston (new)

Preston Ray (pmray) | 7 comments I did. I am really impressed by it (I am Beta reading the third book) but it depends a bit on what you like. It is a vampire series but not like any other vampire series I have ever read.

Definitely not a read in the hot tub with a beer type of book (like say I would with Dead Witch Walking). It is not a tough read, but it has a fairly slow pace and there are a lot of themes going on in it (social class divisions, animal cruelty, etc.). It reminds me a little bit of Octavia Butler and some of her Science Fiction books that dealt with slavery.

Mich | 5 comments PM- Somehow I totally missed your reply to me. SO rude of me. :) thank you! I think I am going to add this series to my to-read.
**Kevin, A wonderful read! Just started the The Game of Thrones series myself. Also finished 'The Beast of Maug Maurai'...Great quick read in the fantasy world genre-and a local author.

Kevin | 8 comments It was a generally great book, though it could start to get boring in a lot of places.
