Not just anyone can find the humor in rehab, but fortunately we've got Steven Kuhn on our side. A new work of literary fiction from Untreed Reads, out now wherever ebooks are sold.

The Drunk Logs by Steven Kuhn:

The Drunk Logs is a narrative of life within the walls of Stone River, an addiction treatment center found among a picturesque countryside. The serene setting belies the frenzied mindsets of those who, for a short time, call it home.

Matt Hoffman is the newest arrival at Stone River. In a state of denial and with his defenses on high, Matt comes to realize that he has been a longtime member of society’s outcasts, though he never wanted to admit it. Alleviating the pain of his situation, Matt focuses on the darkly comical side of addiction as he is befriended by an odd assortment of patients, resulting in funny, pathetic, and surreal experiences.

Through this last chance at recovery, and indeed life, Matt discovers that in the end, it is the experiences he both learns and shares from the other patients that transform his life.

About Author Steven Kuhn:

Steven Kuhn is a first generation American, born in 1970 in Cleveland, Ohio. He is the younger of two siblings. He was taught the old adage that with hard work and an education, anything can be accomplished in life.

Being artistic, he was schooled in the classics at the Cleveland Institute of Music for nine years. For most of the 90’s, he continued his love of music and became a singer in a local band that had some success in the Ohio and Pennsylvania areas. During those seven years, the band truly understood the meaning of sex, drugs, and rock and roll, and like a majority of musical groups disbanded due to infighting. But all that time was for naught, as he gained a love for poetry, particularly the works of Goethe, Goran Sonnevi, Bertolt Brecht and Kahlil Gibran. He would use their poetry to give birth to stories that he composed back into rhyme of song.

Always a hard worker, a laugh toward life, and five different majors, he finally completed his Bachelor’s of Science in Business Management, and is currently seeking his Master’s in Mental Health.

A born observer, he continues his love of storytelling by recounting tales from actual people he has met in his life, but putting his own fictional spin to the story.

He lives with his wife and daughter in northern Ohio.
