Ania | 2 comments Is there a reason that the metadata answers for each book are limited for goodreads librarians? I like entering them, since I'm working under the assumption that it will improve book recommendations. Before becoming a librarian I could fill out a whole page of metadata information for each book, and now when I go there, I can only click + if it's fiction or nofiction, and maybe provide answers to some of the questions but definitely not all of them. (not to mention that not all words show up that I can enter. For example for Antsy Does Time under the subject of the book I typed "friendship" and "death" but only the first one showed up ).

This is just a general inquiry and it's ok if no one really knows. Yes I have tried different browsers. I would just like it if there was some way to keep it the same for goodreads librarians as well as the general users. I'm a really picky reader, and I'd like to be able to get the best recommendations possible.

Thanks. :)

Vicky (librovert) | 2462 comments When any user reviews a book they can click "More Options" under "Date I finished this book." Under the "Private Notes" box there is a link to "edit book meta data" where information can be added.

As a librarian you can get to the meta data by going to the book's edit page and viewing the "show metadata" tab. This page shows all the information users have added so that it can be edited by librarians. If someone entered that Lord of the Rings was non-fiction a librarian could remove that information since it's wrong.

I think you're just looking at two different places. If you go in through the review page you should have access to what you're used to for entering metadata.

Ania | 2 comments Awesome, thank you! I used to be able to access this page through other ways and once I became a librarian I couldn't go that way anymore.

Thanks again. :)
