I went to bed early last night...didn't get anything written, but I got some sleep! :D
I'm selling photos tonight...I hope something sells!
:D

Thursday, I made my biggest photo sale! I sold three of my Japan pics for $30 total! WHOO HOO!
I just now figured out how to get the html from flickr to post pictures here! Whoo hoo!!!
Here's one of my photos I sold a few of:

and this one seems to be popular too:

I don't have the third one on flickr to post.
Onto other news...I saw Star Trek yesterday! It was AWESOME! I grew up with my brothers watching the re-runs, so Star Trek has always had a special place in my heart. I went with a lot of non-trek fans, and they LOVED it too. A couple of them were now enticed to see some of the old series to see what the little references were all about.
I LOVE the new Capt. Kirk!! *swoon*

I grew up loving the Next Generation with Captain Picard. I look at reruns now and all those effects we thought were sooooo awesome are pretty lame now, but I still like it.

Yay, another Trekkie!! It's definitely worth buying when it comes out!
I too grew up watching TNG (The Next Generation) and DS9 (Deep Space 9). Yes, I do get a chuckle when I watch re-runs of TNG...now that I think of it, they haven't played re-runs in a while. :( I know what I'm putting on my Christmas list...TNG boxed sets!! I think Capt. Pickard is the BEST!
Do let me know when you see the Star Trek movie...I'm interested in discussing the differences. :) (Who knew Spock could be HOT!?...ok, there are other aspects to discuss too!)
:D

I married in 96, had my 2st babe in 1998, then 1999,2001,2004,2007.
Hope you had a great mother's day!

You sure are a busy lady! 5 kids, a farm, and writing too! You have your hands full! If you want, you can always go back to school when all the kiddos are in school themselves. The online route is always there too. I have many friends getting their online degree (bachelors and masters), but it's also very time consuming.
Your biggest job is your kiddos, as you well know! My job has truly helped me truly respect parents and what they do to help shape the future. Parents are the ultimate teachers, and I commend you for everything you do! :D

My husband was like, "you don't seem like you know many people." And that wasn't the case, it's just that it wasn't any easier going up to people now then it was then. SO I visited with a few, waved at a lot, and went home still missing my friends who had moved.
A more "yellow" personality would have had a blast- for me it was just nice, but not really "fun."
I have thought about going back to school by the way, and I probobly will but it won't be to finish the degree I started. I'll go back for something I can use. :)
what did you graduate in? (degree)

*leaves gift*

For my photographying, writing, Julie.

Wendy,
I can see how it's tough at the reunion when none of your close friends are in town to attend. I'm hoping most of my friends can make it, otherwise I don't know if I'll bother. Our school was so big that there were many pockets of friends. I had never seen the people I stood next to at graduation until that day!
It's funny how people who NEVER talked to you EVER in high school (because they were WAY too popular), see you afterward, and act like you were best friends! That's happened a couple of times.
Wendy, to answer your question about my major, it was in Elementary Education, and I minored in Geology. Good times. ;) Teaching, itself, is rewarding, it's all the OTHER junk that gets in the way.
What were you thinking of going back for?

My sr. class was 650-ish people. How big was yours?
And I used to run into people that I knew who were "popular" who acted like we were buddies- but something happens at thirty- the boy's lose their hair, the women get fat... It's getting difficult to recognize faces anymore since we are changing so much now. I can't imagine anyone recognizing anyone at the 25th reunion.
Hey Julie,
LOVE the photos, especially the one with the orange. The composition is pure perfection! I can see why it is a big seller!
We are going to see the new Star Trek movie tonight. I look forward to drooling with you about it tomorrow :]

Thanks Dee! I'm glad you like my photos! :D I'm looking forward to your take on the new Star Trek. My mom and brother just went yesterday, and loved it!
So, I've been very busy, and quite productive:
I'm no longer condo hunting, but have moved on to house hunting...still stressful and exciting all at once.
My grandma's birthday was this weekend, and she turned 95! So family celebrated at the nursing home. :)
I also finished SOA last Thursday!!! I am now dying to read the sequel! I wrote a review for goodreads, amazon, and B&N, and I need to post the review on Shelfari too!
I ordered business cards for my photography "business."
I also started making some edits on my story this weekend, but I'm taking it one step at a time. :)
I hoping to finish my grading sometime this week, then I can relax a little before packing up my room. :) Some hopefully, I'll get to spend some time with my characters sometime this week too!
I hope everyone has a magical Monday!

Julie,
I had to drop by and give you a huge hug for the Amazon.com review of Sons of Avalon Merlin's Prophecy. It moved me to tears!
I even tweeted about it on Twitter :]
So glad that you enjoyed Merlin's story, and thanks so much for posting a review :]
Good luck on the house hunting and have fun at your Granny's B-Day...WoW is right!

Thanks for the well wishes. I'll keep updates on the house hunting process. Wendy, I think I'll try the bait and trap method. It couldn't hurt! ;)
10 days left... but who's counting?? Of those days, we have two field trip days, a track-and-field day, a music memory contest, an awards ceremony, and other days filled with end-of-year festivities. :) Good times.

Wendy,

LOL Anytime, Jules. :)

Ahhh, it's good to be back. I thought the grading and house hunting had taken over! *plops down on chaise lounge with some iced tea in hand*
As of today, report cards are DONE!! Whoo hoo!! I'll take a short breather tomorrow, then it's back to the grind with other random paperwork, and cleaning. 6 days left. On the upside, I've had more time with my homeroom class, and they are a sweet bunch. I've had more opportunities for read aloud time, and we've started the book Eggs by Jerry Spinelli. I'm just a little ahead of the kiddos, but so far it's nicely written and quite entertaining!
I'm hoping to spend some quality time with my characters tomorrow, I so miss them so much.
The house hunting is discouraging. The one I like the most so far is in a far suburb. The nice thing is that it's a beautifully scenic drive that I think I could bear. My commute now is longer, because I go through an ungodly amount of lights. So, this new place would be slightly further away, but take less time since it's close to a main highway. Hmmm, descisions...
I wish you all a fabulous week, and I hope to be back soon!
Hey Julie,
When the universe gets ready for you to find your perfect house it will just appear :]
That is how I found our Hobbit house. I looked for almost a year, but once I walked in the door, I knew it was my home, my sanctuary.
*Sets an oil can down on your desk*
I can’t remember, are you teaching summer classes?

Dee,
Thanks for the encouragement! That's exactly what my realtor has been telling me too. I'm trying to be patient. I spent a lot of time last weekend, and after school this week driving through neighborhoods. I picked up flyers and get a feel for the the neighborhood and pricing.
Today, I need to go up to the school and clean/pack. I'm moving classrooms, so I need to get as much done as possible.
I should also re-print the prints I sold last time I sold photos. I sell again this upcoming Thursday. I did get my business cards already, YAY! I do have a Flickr account, feel free to check it out!

Tink!! Big congrats!!!! I'll be swinging by to celebrate!! :)

I almost forgot, I'm not teaching summer school. I should, because lord knows the money would be good. Burnout isn't worth the money though. I have enough to keep me occupied this summer. :D Plus, I can always tutor if I want some extra cash.
Hey thanks so much Julie for sharing your Flickr photo gallery with us. You do beautiful work. I especially love your architectural photos.
Taking good photos of buildings is not easy and you have mastered the art to perfection.
Drop me a note when you post new photos (I really enjoyed the Renaissance Faire gallery).

I haven't been around! I'll get to why that was in a sec.
Dee - Thank you so much for looking through my flickr gallery, and for your kind words! I'll be sure to let you know when more are up. I was looking though some of my unprocessed photos, and there are more Ren Fest photos to be posted!
Wendy! Howdy to you too! I hope you are well!
Anne Mae - Thanks for dropping by! I hope your June is going well too!
So, the last week of school was crazy, as it is to be expected! Add to that, I finally found a house and have started the buying process!! So, my extra time was spent with the realtor and showing my parents the house, and gathering documents, and dreaming about decorating! If all continues to go well, I should close by the end of July!
Add to that, I had to move classrooms. There happened to be some drama with the lady whose classroom I moved into. (She would make a VERY interesting character in a story.) She's not intentionally mean, but has been dealt some very difficult cards this year, and has reacted accordingly. Long story short, I think things are mostly smoothed out there. I've had to bite my tongue on a few occasions, but it was for the better.
I was also presented the opportunity to assist at a wedding with someone completely new! It was a great experience, and she's asked me to assist on some others too! Extra money is a good thing!
I've been so bummed about having NO time to write. I even had a beautiful dream where I was writing some wonderful parts to my story...then I woke up only to realize that I forgot what I had written in my dream. :/
So, today was the first day I had to MYSELF! I sat down, and re-read my story. It had been a while, and there are some parts I REALLY need to sit down and re-word. I over use a lot of words. That's ok, and that's editing is for. I'm sort of glad I was able to see it with detached eyes.
Unfortunately (and fortunately!), I'm leaving for Orlando tomorrow, and will be gone for 7 days. :( I will bring some paper and a pen with me. I know I'll be busy, but there is usually some down time here and there. I'm sharing a room with three other friends, so I'm sure I'll be waiting for the shower a lot! I'll give Mickey a hug for all of my Goodreads pals!

Oooh! Orlando sounds like sooo much fun! Are you going to Disneyworld? If you're a rollercoaster person, then be sure to go on the Expedition Everest in Animal Kingdom. Btw, if you want to go on a lot of rides, use the fastpasses!

I'm off to bed now. More to come.

Thanks tons, Julie. <3 ya! Happy June, girly!

It's a slow start, but it's something! :)
Wendy - Thanks! It's good to be back!
Tink - Happy June to you too!
Dee - Thanks for dropping by! :)
Two of my friends closed on property yesterday. So, I've been either helping them pack, or celebrating with pizza and Dr. Pepper on the floor of an empty condo. Good times! ;)
Yay, it's Saturday! I don't have any meetings scheduled today, so I'm looking forward to some downtime. :D
Back to writing... ok, maybe I'll eat breakfast first...

Thanks for dropping by!
So, I thought I'd have more downtime after school finished! I feel it's starting to be one of my busiest summers yet. I've been helping friends pack, I assisted at another wedding today, and I'll finally get my "good faith estimate" for the house I'm looking at, tomorrow. I also hope I can lock in a good rate tomorrow. Here's to a short dip in interest rates tomorrow! ;D
Back to writing, I'm SO tired but I need to make myself write something everyday it's humanly possible. I was thinking about my story when I was driving about the city, and came up with some tidbits to add here and there. I need to add them before I forget.
Hmmmm...I've just noticed...the Playstation has gathered dust...WHERE ARE MY MUSES!? I should have taken better care of them.
*Leaves a steak, and some leafy greens on the table for the wayward muses*
I'll be a better muse-mommy in the future!

My B-day is tomorrow and the party goes until the 28th!
Please attend in GreenDaisy's Grand Gelatinous Globe
feel free to feed (click) on some of the younger dragons

On my home news, I had my meeting with the loan officer, and signed a bunch of scary looking forms. I still have yet to lock in a rate, and it's making me a little nervous, so I'm holding off any big plans/celebrating until I actually close on the darn thing!
On writing news, I haven't done much today. BUT my paint spattered clothes are in the wash, so I need to occupy my time until I can put them in the dryer, so I must write! :D

I actually had to stop myself, I was getting so into the dialogue I was writing.
Ok, time for bed! I really need to sleep, I'll be painting again tomorrow too!
Night!

Annie Mae- thanks for dropping by!
Ahh, it's been a while. I did write today! So far I have written 1,227 words! I hope to keep going!
Last week, I continued to help my friend paint her condo. Then I assisted a wedding shoot (third wedding this month!) in Midland, Texas (6.5 hours from Austin). So, I spent most of Friday driving, then went to the rehearsal, and Saturday was the wedding. Then I spent most of Sunday driving back. It was fun, but tiring, especially after the week of painting earlier.
So, I spent much of yesterday in bed, recovering (reading and watching my Netflix DVD's.)
On house news, I finally locked in an interest rate last week! I have some more paperwork to complete, and then I need to arrange for an inspector and all that jazz. It's finally starting to sink in!
Well, I'm off to buy/pick up a used washer/dryer from a friend. :)
