Julie | 465 comments Wow, I'm glad I got some writing in with all of this Twilight mania.

Words Saturday: 0 (maybe a few with some editing)

Words Sunday: 1,260 (Thank you Coldplay for helping my writing mood. There's something about their album "Parachutes.")

I haven't met my goal of 5,000 more words by the end of my break - only 2,325 since Wednesday...hmmm, I'm almost halfway there. Maybe I can make it before bed.

I guess I should get up and go run my errands.

See y'all later!

Julie | 465 comments Thanks Tink!

Spring Break is over. :( Back to getting up early and going to work! Speaking of, I need to make this quick!

So, yesterday, I didn't get that much more written yesterday...

Sunday afternoon/evening: 620 (+1260 in AM = 1,880)

It's odd, I wrote exact amounts, no rounding this time!

Good News! I dreamt of London last night! I didn't dream of my story, but dreaming of the setting has put me back in the London/writing details mood...hopefully that mood will last until later...I'll be thinking of it as I'm getting ready this morning.

Everyone, have a wonderful day, and a wonderful week!

Too funny Julie,

I had a dream about London last night as well. Did your dream include Rob Pattinson?

Great word count over the holiday!

message 206: by Paige (new)

Paige Miller | 4362 comments LOL Honestly, I think Rob Pattinson is on drugs. Hate to break it to you guys.

I'm fairly certain he is. He's a "party boy" apparently. *sigh* And he wonders why Kristen won't go out with him. LOL

Julie | 465 comments Thanks Dee and Tink!

Dee, LUCKY! My dream was just about my brother and I getting lost in London. I was helping him with the Tube (Underground) map. In most of my travel dreams I end up lost or late for a flight. BOOO!

I would have much rather dreamt of Pattinson. *swoon*

Speaking of Pattinson- Tink, Kenzie...yeah, I've suspected that as well. From what I understand, he has social anxiety issues. (My shrink friend agrees with this rumor after he'd seen interviews of Pattinson) He seems socially awkward to begin with, so I would guess that he is medicated (prescriptions or self-medicated??) Which might explain why he looks drugged. It's all speculation though, who really knows... (FYI - I don't condone self-medication, just had to throw that out there as a disclaimer)
He sure chose a public career for such a "shy" guy.

message 211: by Julie (new)

Julie | 465 comments By the way, no writing tonight...

I have a mountain of work that I neglected, so I'm going to pop on a senseless movie and power through as much of it tonight as I can to free up more time for writing later this week.

I just hope I can dream of my story instead! (More London dreams PLEASE!) I've been having too many school nightmares recently...I always wake up exhausted from those. (We've had TONS of drama this year. I'm so ready for summer...)

message 212: by Paige (new)

Paige Miller | 4362 comments *sigh* Yuck, work. That sucks. LOL I always have dreams where I show up at school, like, in a tank top and my short shorts (aka pajamas for when it's hot). Or naked. *shudder* It's terrible. I usually end up having a math test right then too. *shudder again*

Oh, BTW JQ, I know you're busy but Chapter 16: Illusion is up. :)

http://www.goodreads.com/story/show/3...

message 213: by Julie (new)

Julie | 465 comments I HATE those dreams!! Yes, I've had quite a few of those in my day...they seemed to have diminished some in adulthood though, thank God! (Watch, now I'm going to have one tonight!)

You know, that would make a good idea for a story...someone who thought they were dreaming but really showed up to school in their undies. Everyone is telling them "HEY, you aren't wearing proper clothes." And they keep saying, "No, I'm just dreaming- I'm just waiting to wake up."
HA!

Ohh, Chapter 16...I'll try to resist...but it's like the tub of ice cream is just sitting there in front of me....

;)

message 214: by Paige (new)

Paige Miller | 4362 comments LOL Sorry, Julie. At least you're not in middle school (aka Purgatory- I'm pretty sure high school's hell) anymore, right?

LOL Maybe for a short story, that would be funny.

Ahh, ice cream. How wonderful. It's important to take a break every now and then, you know. :)

Julie | 465 comments Hey Tink,
I started Chp. 16...I'm liking it so far!! I'm to the part where Devon is about to make Cassie breakfast. I'll finish it tomorrow for sure!

My eyelids are getting very heavy...and it's almost 1am... I got through 2/3 of my first priority tasks...not great, not terrible. Tomorrow is another day!

Oh, and Tink, yes I THANK GOD I'm not in middle school (as a student that is!) I'm not ruling out teaching in a middle school someday. Though, I'm happy teaching the little kiddos for now. Most of the drama this year though is not because of the kiddos. I'll just say it's the "powers that be."

Sorry buddies, I've been neglecting you both! Bruno, I heard you had a good time playing Xbox with the boys at Dee's this weekend! Rock on!
*gives Bruno a hamburger, and Bunny a large green salad.* Bon Appetite!

Here's to more London dreams!! Night all!

Words: 0 (so far, I'll try to get some out before bed)

I did accomplish something today though! I start the Twilighters Anonymous group: http://www.goodreads.com/group/show/1...

We're friendly and don't bite, even if our mascot does! *Ba-dum ching* of the high-hat. *groans from Bruno and Bunny*

Julie | 465 comments Today was kind of a weird day. I had good intentions to get more grading, and some writing done, but ended up processing photos instead. I guess some creativity is better than none!

*Bruno cheers* Yes, your photo-muse talents came in handy today!

I did get some writing in before bed yesterday, and just got some in today too!

Tuesday words: 155
Wednesday words: 218
(373 words total) *Bunny shrugs, but cheers sarcastically* Oh, Bunny...I can't make you happy all the time!

Sweet Edwardian dreams to all!

If I was a teacher, I'd teach middle school. Less drama than high school but you can still, like, TALK to the kids and have conversations and stuff, you know?

message 223: by Julie (new)

Julie | 465 comments Thanks Dee!

It was magical in that it's the day before Friday! WHOO HOO! I hope your Friday is wonderful and is filled with inspiration!

Tink,
I originally did my student teaching in an 8th grade Science classroom. It...was...an experience to say the least. I did like that you can talk to the kids, and the kids are more self-sufficient too. I think having 5 years of teaching under my belt now would make a HUGE difference too.

I've actually been considering a change all year, and have thought about transferring to a middle school next year. We'll see...I'm still not sure yet! As far as high school is concerned, my specialty was in Geology, but we don't really have any Geology classes in high schools here. :/

Words: 0 ...again...I'll try to get some down before bed...

Leaving you a bottle of "magic" ... put it to good use this weekend ;]

message 226: by Julie (new)

Julie | 465 comments Dee you are WONDERFUL!

Thanks for the bottle of magic! I'll be using it wisely, like I do with Andrea and Harry's magical brownies, and Tink's fairy dust!

Dee, I have a new title for you...are you ready? ...wait for it....

Drumroll please.........*snare drum beats in a fast rhythm*

..... Our Fairy Godmother .... *music cue: TA DA*

That would make you and Tink...like...2nd cousins or something ;)

message 227: by Julie (new)

Julie | 465 comments Howdy!

It's been a busy weekend! :D

I had a Twilight party last night, and I was feeling under the weather today, but then did a little shopping when I did feel a little better.

Writing:
Saturday: 43 words (by the time I got home, I was very tired!)
Sunday: 382 words (maybe I'll have some more by the time I go to sleep.)

I do have some good news. There was a pair of bookends I wanted around christmas time. They are two large chess pieces, one is a white queen, the other a red pawn. They look like the ones from the cover of Breaking Dawn. I think the company who made them had some copywrite issues with the design, so when they sold out, the were not replenished. (I didn't know this before christmas!) I waited until after christmas because I couldn't justify spending money on myself, when I was buying presents for family and friends. Well, when I was ready to spend christmas money, I went to B&N and they were sold out! I searched other stores...all were sold out. (Sorry, this story is getting long) Anyway, my point is that I FOUND them TODAY!! WHOO HOO! Someone must have returned them to the store. They were the only set left...and I hadn't seen them in months!

Despite feeling a cold coming on, it's been a good day! Dee, your bottle of magic really worked! They don't call you the Earth Fairly Goddess Mother for nothing!

One more piece of good news...Borders shipped my copy of Twilight the movie today!

:D

Here's to Twilighty dreams of goodness, and chess pieces, and Edward. (I'll settle for a dream where Edward and I are playing chess!)

What a fun story Julie,

See, magic works! Just believe...I believe in you :]

Wishing you a most wonderful week!

message 231: by Julie (new)

Julie | 465 comments Thanks again Dee!

It's been a random day of random errands. It's funny how Mondays are usually like that for me. And...my cold is getting worse...so I have a raw nose and a killer headache. I wish I had made sub plans...

Monday words: 0

Monday tasks: 10 (not including a full work day)

Don't worry, I didn't use all of that magic today Dee...I'm saving some for later!

message 234: by Julie (new)

Julie | 465 comments Thanks Air!

The gifts were so mood lifting!

Tink!

The coveted fairy dust!! It's working! Here's why:

So, yesterday: besides going to bed early...I still have that pesky cold... I spent some paper and pen time in my story planning journal(10 journal pages filled!).. and now I roughly know how my story is going to end!!!

WHOO HOO... now I don't have the final climax planned just yet, but I know who my big villain is and why he dislikes Joy, and how things will be complicated.

Yikes, I've gotta get ready for work!

Everyone have a wonderful, writing filled day!

message 235: by Paige (new)

Paige Miller | 4362 comments Good work! YAY! That's great!

Hey deciding the ending is a HUGE deal! Good for you Julie. I remember how hard it was with SOA to come up with the stopping point for the novel.

Even if the details are not worked out, it is still great to know the destination's end.

message 238: by Julie (new)

Julie | 465 comments Thanks Dee!

So, it's been an overwhelming sort of week . I've been reminding myself to breath, and to take things one step at a time. I hope this weekend offers a bit of down-time.

message 239: by Julie (new)

Julie | 465 comments Saturday words: 492 :D

It feels good to be at the "writing desk" again.

Oh! I finally saw Australia! It was BEAUTIFUL! Now I'm dying to go there. I did think Huge Ackman (Hugh Jackman ;) needed to take off his shirt a few more times...one doesn't want to suffocate those well chiseled muscles. (Speaking of Hugh Jackman, one of my 4th Grade boys informed me that Hugh was voted the sexiest man of the year...my students can be so random... soil samples = Hugh Jackman??? I think NOT!)

New list of guys on my *swoon* list:
1. Edward (I guess I can lump Pattinson in...though it's REALLY the Edward factor here)
2. Hugh Jackman
3. Colin Firth (who can touch Mr. Darcy!?)
4. Jude Law (even though he IS a pretty boy)
5. Michael Vartan (Alias was never the same after he left the show)
6.Clive Owen (another rugged bloke)

message 240: by Dee, Fan of the "Young Prose Society" (new)

Dee Marie (dee_marie) | 3382 comments Mod
Oh, do we get to contribute the list of guys to swoon over? Please, please, please :]

1. Rob Pattinson
2. Johnny Depp
3. Jonathan Rhys Meyers
4. Colin Farrell
5. Jared Leto
6. Jude Law

message 241: by Daisy (new)

message 242: by Julie (new)

Julie | 465 comments Oh Dee!

I love your SWOON list!!

I do have to ask you about Johnathan Rhys Meyers...I saw him in Match Point (mistakingly thinking it was going to be a romantic comedy about tennis!) I think that movie RUINED him for me... Even when I saw him in August Rush...I thought he was going to go psyco on someone!

I think I need to cure this by netflxing The Tudors...

2. Johnny Depp.... swoon

I know he's not his sexiest as Jack Sparrow, but I saw his doppelgänger at the Rennasance fair last fall...I did ask for a picture with him...*blushes*...I'll have to find it and post it!

Anyone else want to share their swoon list?? This is fun!

message 243: by Julie (new)

Julie | 465 comments Air, *stuffs chocolate in mouth, crumbs spill out as I begin to speak* thanks for the flower, the easter basket, the present, and the smiley stress ball!

Bunny and Bruno thank you too! *muses descend upon the Easter basket, fighting over their favorite chocolates.*

message 244: by Julie (last edited Apr 05, 2009 10:44PM) (new)

Julie | 465 comments So, it's been a busy event-filled weekend, and I should be tired. Now, I'm just unwinding before bed.

I'm hoping to get a little writing in before falling asleep. I did work on my resume this evening, and need to continue on that tomorrow, as well as a new cover letter or two.

I also had an impromptu photo session out in the Bluebonnets today. Bluebonnets, Texas' state flower, is now blooming, pathetically may I add. I drove around nearly an hour, and finally settled on one patch near the highway. So unfortunately there was a stray car here and there in some of the shots. I was only available in the afternoon, so the sun was too harsh. :/ What's an amateur to do? I did the best I could with my auxiliary flash (I was REALLY wishing I had a remote setup for that today) to keep the shadows from around the eyes. I'm not super happy with the results. Though, I'm not charging her, but still...I don't want to give her shoddy pics either. I did tweak some of them a bit in PS Lightroom, but my next step is good ol' Photoshop!

Yikes, I'm blabbering on about non-writing things...maybe I need to start writing about my trials and tribulations with photography...hmmm...combine my hobbies...

I wish everyone the best Monday possible!

message 245: by Wendy (new)

Wendy (wendyswore) I wanna add that cute guy from "the wedding planner" and "Sahara"....Matthew McConaughey. OOh wow I'd like him to be my Kid's Dr., or rescue me, or maybe just make more movies so I can giggle at the screen like a dork.

message 246: by Julie (new)

Julie | 465 comments Oh yes!! Matthew McConaughey is a doll! He lives in AUSTIN too!! :D (I only saw him once from afar at a UT game. :(

You'd have to be careful if he were your kids pediatrician...

"Oh Billy, you have a cough?"

"No mom, I'm just fine..."

"Let me feel your forehead... that's what I though...it's warm! I'll call Dr. McConaughey right away..."

Wait, that would be me... :D

message 247: by [deleted user] (new)

Hey Julie! I hope you're having a fun day!

Here's some brownies!

message 248: by Wendy (new)

Wendy (wendyswore) Julie- that's all fine and good, just so you don't give the kids any nudges when you walk along a ledge- Oh dang, you fell- time to go to the DR.

See- that would be bad. We'd never do it! (but we might think about it if HE was the DR.)

message 249: by Julie (new)

Julie | 465 comments Hey Cali!!

Thanks for the brownies!!! They...*chew*...are...*chew*...WONDERFUL!

I hope you had a great day!

Wendy!
Haha! Well...if it wasn't a really HIGH ledge... uh oh...I feel some Munchhausen syndrome by proxy coming on! ;D Can you imagine if Matthew McC were a plastic surgeon? We would see him on Dr.90210 for sure! (Suddenly everyone would want some "work" done!)
