Julie | 465 comments Toli, :D

Andrea, thanks!! Bunny thanks you too! *Bunny wiggles nose in appreciation.*

So life is all about balance... I'm still working on that! I did get to do a little of everything I wanted to!

1) Tackled some grading
2) Got some reading in! Dee's Sons of Avalon: Merlin's Prophecy is AWSOME!
3) Got some editing in. Whoa can I tell the parts I wrote when I was tired...or my mind was elsewhere...yikes.

So, my word count was hard to chart today, but with all the edits and adds here and there, I'd easily say ~150 words.

*Turns on Brit-mix ~currently Jamie Cullum's version of Frontin' *swoon*~, and feeds bunny.*

Maybe I can get a little more writing/editing before bed...doubtful...my eyelids are getting very heavy.

ZZzzz....zzzzz.....

Julie | 465 comments Hi Tink!

Thanks for flying in! Bruno is so happy for the attention, he's been feeling neglected.

*Brings in Turkey legs for Bruno, and veggie/fruit tray for Bunnicula, and brownies for anyone happening to drop by*

:D

message 106: by Julie (new)

Julie | 465 comments In order to reconcile with Bruno, I have opted to feature him for my profile picture. *Mumbles: I hope you are happy, Bruno. Bruno smiles, we hug... well he hugs my nose. He's so small!*

Seriously, I haven't figured out how to put pictures in regular posts...I'll work on figuring that out!

Wow, Julie, I am very excited that you are reading Sons of Avalon Merlin's Prophecy. If you have any questions along the way, please be sure to ask. I love sharing the behind the plot stuff.

Oh, and thank you so much for the lovely flowers. Purple irises are some of my favorites, they remind me of spring. Which is very welcome, as we had another 2 foot of snow last weekend.

your wrote life is all about balance.

I wish that was true...however...life is all about trying to "find" balance ;] I am a Libra...balance is something I am always striving for, but my scales never seem to equal :)

Wishing you a most wonderful day...thanks again...for just being you!

*Feeds da funny bunny some carrots, and leaves a breakfast sandwich for Bruno*

Nice new picture by the way…Bruno’s very handsome all decked out in his armor.

Have a most inspired day of writing Julie :]

Good morning! I hope these help with your writing. Harry placed a special spell of creativity on them.

message 110: by Julie (new)

Julie | 465 comments Whew...another long day...and I'm feeling a little delirious.
*give bunny a turkey leg, and Bruno a carrot. Both look at each other, and switch snacks, shaking their heads in disapproval*

Dee, you are awesome, and I'm glad you liked the irises! I fedex-ed a box of Texas sunshine to melt some of that snow! I hope it gets there soon!

Andrea, the brownies were AMAZING! *crumbs fall from mouth* Eat your heart out Martha Stewart! Tell Harry thanks for that creativity spell! I was quite inspired!

Again, today's writing was minimal...I'm thinking I need to figure out my total word count again soon.

Today's word count: 260

message 111: by Julie (new)

Julie | 465 comments K, just did a total a total word count for Joy V.

I'm at 19,685. Looking back at my goal of ~45K, this is a bit depressing.

SO, I'm going to celebrate (with the help of one or two of Andrea and Harry's magical brownies) the nearly ~5,000 words I wrote this month, and try to add about 2k more by the end of Feb. I have until Saturday, so I think that's attainable. I know what I'm doing Saturday!

:D

Hey Julie,

I KNOW that you would fit in beautifully with Adrienne's group. Drop her a note in the Wordsmith's cubical. You can use me as a reference if you want :]

Also, Paul is one of the moderators of her group, so I am sure he would vouch for you as well.

OH, and your word count is outstanding. I have had a case of writer OCD of late. I keep rewriting the same sentence over and over again. Geez I hate doing that :)

Keep on keeping on! You are doing a great job, you are nearly halfway to your goal! Woo Whooo!

Yeah, Julie,

You will have fun in the group. Say hi to Paul for me :)

He does some outstanding workshops!

message 121: by Julie (new)

Julie | 465 comments Dee, will do, and I'll keep an eye out for his workshops too!

So, I spent a lot of time getting my feet wet in the Writers Who Write group. It's great, and it took a while to take it all in. I'm looking forward to the revision workshop coming up. I need to spend more time reading the posted stories! So many stories, so little time!

So, I took a break from Joy V. today. That's ok, I'll pick it up again tomorrow!

*feeds Bunny and Bruno*

You boys be good today! You have permission to hop around and visit cubes today! ...what was that? You want to go visit Dee and Edward, and Andrea and Harry? Well, of course! ...just make sure you don't keep them from their writing! ;D

Happy Friday!

message 124: by Andrea (new)

Andrea | 620 comments Hi Julie! Harry and I would love a visit from Bunny and Bruno :) I'll pick up some carrots just in case. What does Bruno like to eat?

I'm glad you're enjoying "Writers who write." I love it. I'm taking the Reviewing Workshop right now, and it's teching me a lot about how to critique other's writing.

Enjoy your day!

message 125: by Julie (new)

Julie | 465 comments Andrea and Dee,

Thanks for letting Bunny and Bruno terrorize your cubes Friday. They had fun kicking Edward's caboose on Halo 3. Then Harry told me about accidentally making Bunny the size of a miniature pony, then returning him to the right size before anything was damaged by an enormous bunny. :D

As far as writing is concerned... it hasn't happened... :( I had to buy a car this weekend (since mine was totaled about a month ago.) The settlement check FINALLY came, so I had to jump. Good news, I have a new car! Bad news, little time to write.

I will work on a review for the Writers who write before I go to sleep tonight...I'll post the words tomorrow morning.

message 127: by Dee, Fan of the "Young Prose Society" (new)

Dee Marie (dee_marie) | 3382 comments Mod
Car shopping is a pain. I hate car dealers...they all go to "rude school"

However, driving a new car [even if it is a new-to-you car:] is waaaaaay fun!

Looking forward to your new postings.

message 128: by Julie (new)

Julie | 465 comments Welcome Write-A-Thon! *Bruno and Bunny sit on either shoulder with little megaphones cheering happily*

Today's count:

Joy V.: 480 words

Review of Wordsmith's story (still in progress): 314 words

For a grand total of (drum roll please!) : 794 words! (not as much as I'd hoped, but better than previous counts!)

I am also happy to report that I finished connecting another two parts. WHOO HOO! I have a "whole" connected chunk now, instead of three large fragments. My intro is still lacking, but I figure I can go back to that later. It's about to get into some action scenes, which I'm new at. So, I want to get some editing done first before I engross myself in the next "act."

Next mini goal: edit more of what I have, so that I can post some more!

Another mini goal is to finish the review I started. It's taking me longer because I'm agonizing over the method. I reallly like the method, but I just want to do it right. I know the process will get faster the more I review!

great Job Julie :)

message 130: by Julie (new)

Julie | 465 comments Hi Dee!

I got a chance to write more today. It's by hand, so it seems like a lot (2 pg front and back), but I know I'll be disappointed when I get it typed in. I'm back in a groove, and just wish I had more time to write tonight...grrr...my day job is getting in the way!!

Ok, off to run errands, an watch Idol w/ the gals. I'll be back tonight! *Puts more carrots in Bunny's cage, and gives a chunk of a doughnut to Bruno*

message 131: by Julie (new)

Julie | 465 comments So...I didn't finish typing all the part I hand wrote...only 40 words...then my eyelids got too heavy.

But, using what I types, I estimated that I actually hand wrote about 600 words!!!

Here's to typing that, and and writing at least another 100 words today.

*Takes one of Andrea's Spell-infused brownies out of the fridge for later.* I was saving this for this sort of occasion!

Bruno, Bunny: be good today!

Hey Julie,

I understand about transcribing your written text to your computer. I wrote a lot of SOA while driving (as a passenger, not a driver). My mind tends to escape through the fantasy world portal as soon as I get in a car (again, as a passenger).

The worst part was trying to read my own writing. While proved to be both difficult and hilarious, as I am a scribbler.

There is a new machine that you can dictate into and it will transcribe your spoken words to text.

Great job on your writing! Keep up the good work.

Oh, and thanks so much for the KKDs. Edward especially liked his.

*tosses some baby carrots to the funny bunny, and a juicy steak to Bruno*

message 133: by Julie (new)

Julie | 465 comments Whew...

So, I took of "early" from work to day to take some time to write. (by early I mean I left at 4 instead of 5:30 or 6. Frame of reference, the kids are dismissed at 2:45.)

It felt really nice to write, and not to be fighting the drooping eyelid battle. So, here are my stats thus far, I'd like to write another review or two before bed, hopefully I'll get faster. That first one took me WAY too long- it's just me and my inexperience.

Anyway, back to stats:
Typed from yesterday's handwritten chunk: 978 (WHOO HOO! GO ME!)
New part just from today: 54...
Review for WWW group: 249

I will say, this review process is a eye-opening experience. I'm learning a lot. It's kind of hard to have something you really care about out there. I'm extremely grateful for all the feedback I've received thus far. The constructive and complimentary comments have all been quite helpful!

Dee, I'm so going to look up that device that types while you speak, I realize it's the only way I'm going to progress at a faster rate! Yes, I'm a scribbler too, especially when inspiration hits me and I have to get the words out of my head before I forget them!

*Throws some purple cabbage at Bunny for variety. Gives Bruno some BBQ -Brisket, his fav!* What was that? You want to play Halo with Edward and Harry?

;)

message 134: by Julie (new)

Julie | 465 comments *fighting the eyelids, Bruno uses his tiny sword to help prop my eyes open.*

I wrote two more reviews for WWW: 432 words

I meant to write Gwen's, but if I did so now, it would be incoherent. That's the first on my to do list for tomorrow.

Tomorrow, I'll be selling photos at a monthly local craft fair here in town, so I don't know how much writing I'll get done tomorrow evening.

Night everyone! I wish a most inspiring day for all tomorrow!

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish G'night, Julie! Sweet dreams of inspiration to you!

message 136: by Julie (new)

Julie | 465 comments Hi UM! Thanks for dropping in!

I only got to write one review today, that was for Gwen's awesome story!

Words: 256

The photo selling didn't go so well. Hardly anyone was out buying, but its fun anyway.

*gives bunny some broccoli and Bruno some chicken, puts on some Black Ghosts to relax to*

Julie | 465 comments Morning Bunny and Bruno! Happy Friday everyone!!

My cube was moved! I was freaking out at first, wondering if it had been deleted!

*pops on some Coldplay to get me moving this morning, then looks at the clock*

Yikes, I need to be getting ready for work!! Bunny and Bruno, be good!

Have a wonderful Friday!

Julie | 465 comments Yay! Bruno and Bunny enjoyed their time with Edward! He's such a handy guy to have around!

Today was sooooo relaxing. I slept until 9:30, ate breakfast, went back to bed, and woke up at 3:00pm, then graded while watching the movie "The Village." Then ate dinner (consuming one of Andrea's brownies for dessert!) and wrote 507 words. WHOO HOO! I can't wait until my grades are turned in! I'm going to devote one of my Spring Break days just to writing. A write-fest is just what I need!

Night!

So, I thought I'd check in. I'm sick as a dog and super duper happy about it... YAY!!! I get to stay home from school! And I think I'm hyper because I'm home alone and can do whatever I want. Freedom is intoxicating.

Pan says hi! *Pan waves* How are Bunny and Bruno? Looking cute as always.

Anyway, I'm going to go pound out some writing. TTYL JQ!!!!! :)
