Indeed. :) Your turn!

Kristen | 1179 comments What can run but never walks, has a mouth but never talks, has a head but never weeps, has a bed but never sleeps?

message 153: by Selena (new)

Selena Pigoni (sailorstar165) A pick-up truck?

Selena wrote: "A pick-up truck?"

I think the answer is "river," but I actually prefer yours, as it kinda fits and is much more amusing. :)

message 155: by Kristen (new)

Kristen | 1179 comments The answer is river, though I agree that "pick-up truck" is an amusing answer. Do trucks have heads or mouths, though?

The next riddle goes to you, Mike!

Mike | 1505 comments Mod
With pointed fangs it sits in wait,
With piercing force it doles out fate,
Over bloodless victims proclaiming its might,
Eternally joining in a single bite
What is it?

message 157: by Selena (new)

Selena Pigoni (sailorstar165) Trucks have HEAD lights. As for a mouth, I thought of something earlier but I forgot. ^^;;;

Is it a fork?
It seems like a silly answer, but everything else I can think of is either too obvious or too obscure. "Fork" makes sense to me.

message 159: by Mike (new)

Mike | 1505 comments Mod
Oops! sorry for missing this guess for a while!

"Fork" is a very good guess (and makes sense to me too), but not quite right. Hint - The "victims" here never have blood. The last line is pretty important (or at least was for me solving it...)

The answer: (view spoiler)

What makes a loud noise when changing its jacket, becomes larger but weighs less?

message 161: by Kristen (new)

Kristen | 1179 comments Man, I have no idea.

message 162: by Mike (new)

Mike | 1505 comments Mod
I debated putting this one up, since I never solved it myself and these didn't really need to get harder, but the answer is so clever and amusing I couldn't resist.

message 163: by Mike (new)

Mike | 1505 comments Mod
Answer: (view spoiler). Brilliant, but so difficult.

Hopefully an easier one: I am lighter than a feather, yet no man can hold me for very long. What am I?

message 164: by Selena (new)

Selena Pigoni (sailorstar165) That one was tough! Never would've guessed popcorn!

For the current riddle, your shadow?

(And if I'm right, someone else come up with a riddle. I've done all the ones I know)

message 165: by Mike (new)

Mike | 1505 comments Mod
Sorry for the delay! Really like your answer Selena, but not quite.

message 166: by Kristen (new)

Kristen | 1179 comments Hmm...Is that a hint? Is it sunlight?

message 167: by Mike (new)

Mike | 1505 comments Mod
Yes, but not much of one. More directly - it's something usually thought of as insubstantial/intangible (like a shadow or sunlight), but technically isn't and can definitely be held.

message 168: by Kristen (new)

Kristen | 1179 comments How about air? It was actually the first thing I thought of, but I didn't think it was right.

message 169: by Mike (new)

Mike | 1505 comments Mod
I'm going to call that close enough - the answer is your breath.

Your turn! :)

message 170: by Kristen (new)

Kristen | 1179 comments Ah. How clever.

Which is correct to say, "The yolk of the egg are white," or "The yolk of the egg is white?"

message 171: by Mike (new)

Mike | 1505 comments Mod
... you totally got me. Knew there was more to this than it seemed but couldn't quite figure it out and looked it up. Brilliant riddle, and I feel like an idiot. ;)

message 172: by Selena (new)

Selena Pigoni (sailorstar165) Kristen wrote: "Ah. How clever.

Neither are correct. Yolks are yellow.

Someone else can tell a riddle. I'm all out of them.

Kristen | 1179 comments Mike wrote: "... you totally got me. Knew there was more to this than it seemed but couldn't quite figure it out and looked it up. Brilliant riddle, and I feel like an idiot. ;)"

I like riddles like this one. You are given two choices, but of course they are both wrong :)

message 174: by Kristen (new)

Kristen | 1179 comments I guess I'll put up a new riddle.

A boy and his father get in a car accident and are rushed to the hospital. Upon arrival they are met with a doctor. The doctor takes a look at the boy and says, "I cannot operate on him! He is my son!". How can this be?

message 175: by Mike (new)

Mike | 1505 comments Mod
The doctor is the boy's mother. :)

Forward I'm heavy, but backwards I'm not. What am I?

message 176: by Kristen (new)

Kristen | 1179 comments The word "ton".

message 177: by Mike (new)

Mike | 1505 comments Mod
Yep yep. Your turn!

message 178: by Kristen (new)

Kristen | 1179 comments A woman was horrified to find a fly in her tea. The waiter took her cup and went into the kitchen and returned with a fresh cup of tea. She shouted, "You brought me the same tea!" How did she know?

message 179: by Dawn (new)

Dawn | 257 comments same fly?

message 180: by Kristen (new)

Kristen | 1179 comments Nope ;) There isn't a fly in the tea anymore, but some how she knew it was the same tea as before. How did she know?!

message 181: by Mike (new)

Mike | 1505 comments Mod
Dawn wrote: "same fly?"

Hahaha! That would be one lousy waiter. :)

She put sugar in the tea before noticing the fly. The tea brought back to her was sweet, so she knew it wasn't fresh.

message 182: by Kristen (new)

Kristen | 1179 comments You got it!

:)

Three brothers share a family sport:
A non-stop marathon
The oldest one is fat and short
And trudges slowly on
The middle brother's tall and slim
And keeps a steady pace
The youngest runs just like the wind,
A-speeding through the race
"He's young in years, we let him run,"
The other brothers say
"'Cause though he's surely number one,
He's second, in a way."

message 184: by Kristen (new)

Kristen | 1179 comments Ha, I figured it out! They are the hands on a clock. The oldest brother is the hour hand, the middle is the minute hand and the youngest is the second hand.

message 185: by Mike (new)

Mike | 1505 comments Mod
Yep! Nicely done! :)

message 186: by Kristen (new)

Kristen | 1179 comments You throw away the outside and cook the inside. Then you eat the outside and throw away the inside. What did you eat?

message 187: by Mike (new)

Mike | 1505 comments Mod
Corn on the cob?

message 188: by Kristen (new)

Kristen | 1179 comments Yep!

message 189: by Mike (new)

Mike | 1505 comments Mod
If an electric train is travelling south, which way is the smoke going?

message 190: by Kristen (new)

Kristen | 1179 comments Ha. You can't fool me! Electric trains don't have smoke(unless it's on fire).

message 191: by Mike (new)

Mike | 1505 comments Mod
LOL. Correct you are. :)

message 192: by Kristen (new)

Kristen | 1179 comments How far will a blind dog walk into a forest?

message 193: by Mike (new)

Mike | 1505 comments Mod
Halfway, then he's walking out. ;)

message 194: by Kristen (new)

Kristen | 1179 comments You got it!

Answer: (view spoiler)

A truck driver is going opposite traffic on a one-way street. A police officer sees him but doesn't stop him.

Why didn't the police officer stop him?

message 198: by Selena (new)

Selena Pigoni (sailorstar165) It's an ambulance? Or maybe a firetruck?

message 199: by Mike (new)

Mike | 1505 comments Mod
I like the thought, but not what they're looking for.

message 200: by Kristen (new)

Kristen | 1179 comments I don't suppose the driver is going backwards?
