Plot: England. A woman's grandmother hires a stranger to marry her granddaughter, so that the granddaughter can safely get out of England. The man doesn't know that the woman he marries has another reason for the marriage. They leave England and head to the U.S. so that the woman can find her neices and protect them before an evil uncle does.
The married couple founds out that the neices have been kidnapped by a black man and a white woman (a madam maybe). When the married couple locates the neices, the wife threatens that madam.
The leave the madams house and thereafter the town. The wife eventually takes her neices to the town where her husband lives. The town has a lot of men living there and they find out that she can read. So they ask her to read the Sunday newspaper to them. Then there is another man who says he knows how to build a crib, but instead keeps building rocking chairs.
