Stacey | 2 comments Hello everyone! I just want to discuss some new young adult sequels that I am personally, really looking forward to. Any other YA fans out there? Anyone else looking forward to the next Percy Jackson (out on Oct 2!)

1. The Mark of Athena by Rick Riordan. Young adult is not just for high school kids- even my husband is ready for this new chapter in the Percy Jackson series. Like Roman/Greek Gods and mythology? This series, as well as Riordan's two other series, is sure to be a hit.

2. Reached by Ally Condie. The last of a trilogy that started just two years ago- a great series if you like utopian societies or love stories. If you liked Twilight's good boy/bad boy decision making- this will be right up your ally.

3. The Kill Order by James Dashner. Ok, so I'm not usually a "prequel" fan, but I have got to say I'm looking forward to this one. I loved the Maze Runner series and was glad to have it after I finished the Hunger Games. If you liked either of those- this will be a great next chapter for you.

Anyone else looking forward to a new book? Anyone else mark down the days until publication in their planners?? Anyone else ready to admit they love young adult too?

Angelique Yes, I love YA books. Sadly, I haven't stuck with the Pery Jackson series beyond The Last Olympian but I did adore those five. A couple of sequels I'm looking forward to:

1. Finale by Becca Fitzpatrick. It's the final book so I'm on edge and ready for this because I've adored Patch and Nora's story since the beginning.

2. Beautiful Redemption by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl. Again, the final book in a series I've stuck with since day one and hopefully Lena and Ethan finally get their happy ending.

3. Rebel Heart by Moira Young. I am absolutely dying for this book to come out on Oct. 30th. I loved the savage world and the flawed characters created by the hostile world.

4. Necromancing the Stone by Lish McBride. I went into the first book with serious reservations, but the writing's funny, the characters are pleasantly ordinary (witches, necromancers, and werewolves aside), and it's just funny writing.

I will freely admit my calendar is full of book publication dates. It's much easier to remember what's come out that I want to read and when they're out so I remember to get them.

You know when you read a novel a little while after it has been published. You finish it and then hope there is a sequel. And then you find out the sequel is coming out in just a few weeks?!?!

Homeland by Cory Doctorow is the sequel to
Little Brother by Cory Doctorow and I can't wait to read it.

And then you find out that the wonderful independent book store in your town is having Cory Doctorow do a reading on February 18th??? I am so excited and will be at Square Books for this.
