There's Tea with the Black Dragon - a lovely, undemanding read that has an interesting twist on the Imperial dragon. Some of the technical references are a bit dated, but the characters are great and Mayland Long (the dragon) is fantastic!

It is called The Dragon Within. Check it out if you want.

There's a NEW book on the give away list that is meant to have a dragon in it. Dark Peak by JG Parker. A friend told me about it ages ago but it's only just out in paperback. I had a bit of a hard time getting it from bookshops (don't know why) but my copy's finally turned up from the publisher! I didn't see it on teh giveaway or I'd have waited :D! Dark Peak: The First Elemental
Here is an amazing book I just read, it is about a young knight, have a pure dragon blood. His parents are dragons but decided to be humans.

Haha, because the author's epic, and it's a really good series. Did you read the rest? Everyone likes a different style though ... I especially liked the message throughout the series :)Have you read Dragon Slippers? It's really cool :D

Hi ... I just read another dragon book xD. This one ...
by Tui T Sutherland. It's a kids book, set in a different land, on a sort of dragon island, where dragons live more or less like people, with queens and kingdoms etc. I really enjoyed it.
Just created a new shelf called "Books including dragons" if anyone wants to check it out. Unlike Cole, I only have 26 xD, but they all have a dragon in them somewhere ... whether it only appears in one chapter, or it's the main character :)
A Song of Ice and Fire by George R. R. Martinthis is a series of novels.. the first series being
'the Game of Thrones' :)
oh, did he finished all 5 books?? i am currently reading the fourth ^^ ..and yes they have dragons in them :Þ why did your mom loathed them??
its quite absorbing..
altogether, its a long reading though..
I really want to read Game of Thrones!!! But they look really heavy and I haven't been in the mood for heavy lately.

Hello ! i'm looking for a special kind of book with diff dragons and different riders...?
i've always read books that revolve around just one dragon and one epic rider. im interested and a more group story with different characters. any suggestions?
Dragonriders of Pern?? lots of dragons, lots of riders, and lots of characters too.. you need to follow the series though..i am open to other suggestions too.. i am seeking as well ^◡^
Dragonriders of Pern are really good suggestions, the only other good one I can think of right now is the Temeraire series.
Hello Everyone, I wanted to share my recently released book for your consideration. Legacy of Dragons: Emergence is the troubled tale of a young woman that inherits her grandmother's estate and along with it the Legacy of Dragons. Throughout the series we learn what happened to dragons and in turn magic as those magical creatures return to our modern world, bringing with them forgotten magic and the ancient conflict that caused them to disappear 1500 years ago. I hope you take a chance to read it and enjoy it. It is currently available through smashwords, all e-book providers, and Amazon or Create Space for a printed version.
Legacy of Dragons: Emergence
A suggestion for multiple dragon riders. Try Mercedes Lackey's, Joust. The first book is about how the main character becomes a dragon rider under the guidance of his mentor, a dragon rider Jouster. In the second book in the series, Alta, There are more riders and their dragon characters introduced and by the third book, Sanctuary, there are many riders and their dragons.

Hi, Pamela,
Based on what you are asking for, I believe that my series, DRAGONS, would be the perfect match for you. Now, I must warn you, my series has broken with the status-quo and is nothing like anything you've ever read before about dragons. There are no magical dragons in it, no dragon-riders, and no magical realms. The story takes place here in the real world, and it is definitely not the story of just one main character. You can find excerpts of my books online, and on my Facebook page.
The first two books of the series are already available:
The Essential Ties
The Fury
I also have an author page here on Goodreads, where you may check them out as well. I hope they are what you are looking for.

Has anybody read the series of Age of Fire by E.E. Knight?? If not and you really like dragons, you need to see it!!!
Anyone knows a book where a boy is a reincarnated prince who once slayed dragons and was hunted by a dragon assassin who can turn into a woman and they eventually side together to stop a sorcerer on Hawaii and get assistance from a god to help them and soon they sink the island? The boy wields slicing rings and at some point they were on a flying carpet.

I've read the first book of the series. I found it interesting that it was in the POV of the dragons, not some human bonding with dragons. I would definitely read more.

I have read several of the books mentioned in this thread. I really enjoyed the Dragonback series by Timothy Zahn; most of the Pern novels, but there are a few I haven't read yet; the Pit Dragon series by Jane Yolen; and Dragon's Bait for starters. As a children's librarian, I read a lot of children's books, and there are some very good dragon books for kids. Here are a few fairly recent dragon books for about ages 9 and up, for anyone who wants children' books for themselves or for their children:
Dragonborn
Ivy's Ever After
Ivy and the Meanstalk
Dragon Run
Dragon's Egg
I also came across a nice dragon book a few months ago:A Natural History of Dragons: A Memoir by Lady Trent.
It was a very interesting read, and the author is planning to write sequels.

I heard of that book! I like its cover. I kinda wished it was an actual dragon history book and not a memoir. I will try to read it someday.

It is a fictional memoir, and there are real dragons in it. Lady Trent and those she is traveling with are studying the dragon problems that are taking place in a small village.

I really want to read that book. I don´t know, it´s kind of interesting.
Another of my favorite dragon series is the Dragonback series by Timothy Zahn. This series is science fiction rather than fantasy, with extraterrestrials, space ships, space ports, etc. etc. Draco is an extraterrestrial who must be in a symbiotic relationship with another being in order to survive. After a spaceship wreck, his symbiont dies, and he must find another before he dies. When a teenage human boy comes across the wreck, he meets Draco and agrees to join with Draco in a symbiotic relationship. Draco can become two-dimensional, and positions himself on top of Jack's skin, so that he looks like a full-body tattoo. The first book is Dragon and Thief, and these books are very fast-paced, and read almost like movie scripts. I would like to see them made into movies!
I would like to announced the release of the prequel to my Dragons in the Mist series.
Dragon Nemesis is free on Amazon and Barns and Noble.

I heard of that series when I was searching for books similar to mine (books with alien dragons). The books look like fun reads but I can't read novels. Maybe one day when I get famous I will turn them into movies. I'd like to do that one day; turn a lot of indie books into movies or TV shows. Y'know, give back to the indie community.

Hey everyone! I'm posting this in several places in your group threads. Please don't lynch me lol. :) I have two dragon books out right now: Dragon Dreams and Dragon Ties. Their genre is Fantasy/Paranormal Romance. Here is my Goodreads link:https://www.goodreads.com/author/show...
And here is the link to Dragon Dreams, the 1st book in the Chronicles of Shadow and Light series.

Just for ease purposes, I'm putting the blurb here for you to take a look at. :)
"The characters are rich, and spring to life on the pages, drawing you into their lives as you walk beside them on their journeys." ~Reader’s Frenzy
The heart of Terradin . . . is fading away, and it's only hope rests in the one person that Nachal has vowed to protect at all costs. Because to save her,
is to save them all.
Nachal, foster son of the great Dragon-King Cerralys has the same dream night after night.
In them, an elf named Auri lays dead, murdered by the Rebel Dragon's leader Obsidian on a massive plain of fire.
Racing against time, he sets out from Eldaria to prevent the prophetic dreams from coming true.
To do this he must avoid capture by the long reach of Obsidian's gathering army, and find a mystical land that has been lost for more than two decades. A land that is reputed to flow with breath-taking beauty and vitality.
But will what he finds there be what he needs? Or something that will haunt him for all eternity.
I'm willing/open to sending you the file in exchange for a review.
Hope everyone has a great day! And Happy Easter weekend!
Best Wishes, Dusty Lynn Holloway
