3 books to have on your desert island what would they be?

(and books like this Survive on a Desert Island by Claire Llewellyn don't count ;)

Ooh that's a tough one - can I not just cheat and take my kindle? ;D

Lord of the rings -I can read that over & over and not get bored.
Bill Bryson 'notes from a small island' - to remind me of home and make me laugh.
Not sure on the 3rd one - maybe a Maya Angelou book?

Ooh, that's hard. I guess the first would be The Stand by Stephen King , to remind me that things could be worse.

My second would be Captain Corelli's Mandolin by Louis de Bernières . It's a book I've always found beautiful.

Still thinking about the last one!

How about Ulysses, Clarissa and all seven volumes of Proust's À la recherche du temps perdu? ;-)

Does the LOTR trilolgy count as 1 book?

If not, that's my choice!

I counted it as one book so I could take another two

LOTR as one choice, Mists of Avalon as my second, and third.... Not sure.
