Cathy I appreciated this book tremendously as it is hard to find non-fiction for my 5th grade boy that is not just lists of facts. I will be using it for his book club next week - any suggestions on similar non-fiction books that are so rewarding to read?

Brandi Depending on what topics you want for NF, Big Wig by Krull takes a look at the history of human hair. It is informative, fun, and often gross. While a little morbid,How They Croaked by Georgia Bragg will get your boys reading. It focuses on many historical figures, giving brief overviews of their lives, then going into the scientific/gory detials of their deaths. Other goods ones I've come across recently that look good, but haven't read yet are Silk and Venmon by Lasky (searching for a specific recluse spider), Book of Blood by Newquist (about the history and legends of blood), and similar looking to Black Hole is The Mysterious Universe by Ellen Jackson.
