wow, you got a bargain there, cost me £2.99 (almost $5)anyway, bought/read this yesterday, was an enjoyable short story, I was unsure if it would be confusing having a baseball theme, but it was fine
Yeah, baseball is more a part of the scenery in this than the plot. Our baseball haters should still like it, if they give it a chance.
Baseball! *shakes fist* :PI like the sport... I don't like reading about the sport. But I'll read this anyway, of course.
I really enjoyed this. It felt, to me, like one of those classic Twilight Zone episodes. It also reminded me that I have yet to read Blockade Billy, which I now intend to rectify within the next week or so.
(I don't watch nearly as much baseball as I used to these days but I still like reading about the game in fiction.)
The story isn't real long. On the Nook, it came to 60 pages, but half of that was excerpts from Black House and The Talisman.
Just finished this over the weekend. What a mediocre effort. Big disappointment. Considering King's resume on the short story front this one is not worth the time.
A quick read, but enjoyable. Was surprised when it ended as on the nook it stated 60 pages and I was only on 30. Half the download is exerpts from the Talisman and Black House which I have already read. Didn't need those.

yeah It was an ok read. I was also surprised by the excerpts for the talisman and blackhouse at the end.

Not one of the best short stories he has written, but it sort of felt like a twilight zone episode. Short, gave me the creeps, and left me with a curious aftertaste.

no just tacked on to the end like "try theses books also by stephen king"
Yes, I agree, i saw the whole thing in black and white, even though the story described the colors. It was Twilight Zone all the way.I enjoyed it.

But I enjoyed this one immensely. The sign of a good short story imo is when something w/o a lot of content leaves you with a lot to chew on afterward. There was a good amount of things to think about, and the main character was very complex (for a short story). Was he a (view spoiler)
