Which book are you reading? Is it Discovery of Witches?

Megan (celtic_girl) | 363 comments Would Palazzo Pubblico or Fonte Gaia in Italy work for a famous landmark?

Cindy (cynx) | 408 comments Hi Dawn,

Does Lake Treasure or the French Quarter in Austin, TX count as a famous landmark?

message 304: by Dawn (Kat N Hat) (new)

Dawn (Kat N Hat) (katnhat) Sorry all, another start to a crazy week.

Megan yes it would work.

Cindy, If you can provide support for either I would consider them. I personally have never heard of either and an initial internet search didn't pull up either on the first page of result.

Alana ~ The Book Pimp (loonyalana) I live in Austin and there is no Lake Treasure or French Quarter... there is Ladybird Lake, and 6th Street, and Mount Bonnell, UT Tower...

message 306: by Cindy (last edited Sep 20, 2012 06:10AM) (new)

Cindy (cynx) | 408 comments Thanks Dawn & Alana!! I guess the author was using ficional names for landmarks :(! I'll continue to look.

message 307: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) Yea I was wondering about that I've lived in Texas my entire life and had never heard of a French Quarter here only New Orleans. Alana I just finished a book that takes place in Austin even mentioned 6th st. Pretty When She Dies (Pretty When She Dies, #1) by Rhiannon Frater

message 316: by Alley (last edited Sep 21, 2012 07:55AM) (new)

Alley (alleycatfish) Would waterfront or harbour work for shoreline? The water in waterfront is a sea loch in the highlands of Scotland. The setting is Lochdubh, a little village along the loch. Everything is waterfront this, waterfront that.

Never mind. I found one in a different book. :)

message 317: by Sheila (last edited Sep 21, 2012 07:38AM) (new)

Sheila (sheilaj) | 1 comments Dawn - would a mention of "the coast" or "the beach" work for shoreline?

message 318: by Ezi (last edited Sep 21, 2012 07:39AM) (new)

Ezi Chinny (ezinwanyi) | 1882 comments What is shoreline? Can you explain a little bit. For instance, Would this book cover that shows a sea/ocean work for "shoreline"?

Home Front by Kristin Hannah

message 319: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) Anywhere near a body of water sea, lake, river, creek, etc.

message 320: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) Dawn has it in deeper explanation on the hunt help thread. That's where I got the post I just put up before this one. Hope it helps guys! Happy Hunting :)

is this acceptable for shoreline?

"He slid down the bank and dove headlong into the water..."

message 322: by Paris (new)

Paris (pah13) Would "I washed ashore in Boston and I haven't entered the ocean since" count for shoreline or is it too vague?

Never thought shoreline would be so difficult to find. lol

message 323: by Dawn (Kat N Hat) (new)

Dawn (Kat N Hat) (katnhat) Shoreline is where the water meets the land. So any mention of water and dry land meeting will work.

It can't just be the ocean or water, you need to have land too.

message 324: by Sheila (new)

Sheila (sheilaj) | 1 comments How about this one Dawn?

Over Sea, Under Stone by Susan Cooper

I see both land and sea will this cover work for shore line then?

message 325: by Dawn (Kat N Hat) (new)

Washed ashore would imply the shoreline, I'll take it.

Ezinwanyi wrote: "@Dawn:

Yes, the bank would be the shoreline.

Ezinwanyi wrote: "What is shoreline? Can you explain a little bit. For instance, Would this book cover that shows a sea/ocean work for "shoreline"?

Yes it would work.

Sheila wrote: "Dawn - would a mention of "the coast" or "the beach" work for shoreline?"

Yes.

message 342: by Dawn (Kat N Hat) (new)

Dawn (Kat N Hat) (katnhat) Sorry I was a little late today. We had our first non-forcasted snow in the city today. My daughter is going on a field trip to a corn maze and I hadn't dug out all our winter gloves and hats yet. I had to make sure she was warm enough to survive walking to school. 9 year olds can be very dramatic.

But anyway the item is up. It is Blue. Rememberr if you are going for the color on the cover it must be at least 50% of the cover.

message 343: by Sheila (new)

Sheila (sheilaj) | 1 comments SNOW!!! - YIKES!!!

message 344: by Dawn (Kat N Hat) (new)

Dawn (Kat N Hat) (katnhat) My sentiments exactly. Snow is one of those 4 letter words not said in polite company.

message 345: by Ezi (new)

Ezi Chinny (ezinwanyi) | 1882 comments hope your daughter is nice and layered.

in Texas, we love hearing about snow since we don't get it much. My daughter is the only child who remembers snow. So we are going to the my inlaws (new York city--the Bronx specifically) for Christmas holidays. So hopefully they will see enough that I won't have to hear how Santa isn't going to come because there isn't snow for his sleigh

Thanks!

Thanks Dawn. And I'm sorry you have snow too. Snow is definitely a four letter word here too. Hate it. I think it's pretty, but if I want to see it, I'll go to the mountains and visit. lol
