Simon, when I click on 'list' on my little gadget, I get a list of quite a few sites, but if I click 'next' or 'previous' I only get Karen's, Shaun's and yours before it comes back to mine. That's not right, is it? Shouldn't it be looping through all the sites?

Just done the ring from my blog. I get Harry, Sadie, Phil, Simon's ring thing, Katie, Karen, Shaun, Steve, JS Egan and back to me. I don't get Janet at all?
I started round the ring but got blocked by our work filter as it classified one of the sites under 'social networking'. This is something I quite often find with blogs.

Just added two new sites. If you click 'list' you can see them all and go straight to the site of your choice.I need to keep an eye on it all. Keep telling me if it plays up please :)
No, sorry Simon, but I just went from my blog, to Karen, to Shaun, to 'Welcome to the Ring' and back to mine. I tried it 3 times :'(

Aha! Just emptied my cache and hey presto, I now have all the sites on my ring! You really are a genius, Simon!!
Got the new ones in too. I also added the group to my 'nice places to visit' which have so far been gardening sites!
Thanks Simon - what a great idea! I hope it ends up a really big ring! I can't believe how diverse all the sites are. Just off to tell twitter!
Ignite I am getting annoyed with this work PC - I can't see any of the pictures on your page - all I see is boxes with little red crosses in them. Any ideas hoe to fix that anyone?
Ignite wrote: "Ah, then if Janet's not on, I seem to have them all from my blog. I've just done a post on it!"No I'm not an author!!!
I can only get about half of them. I will try again later.
I'm not an author either Janet. I brought this up with Simon and said I'd join just for test purposes but he seems keen to have a variety of those connected with the forum. Who am I to complain about the Lord of the Rings?I have no idea about the boxes GL. Any geek know? I need to tell you that they are stunning pictures of course!
Sometimes people mistake me for someone who knows what he is doing. At the moment I would like it to be a group ring so anyone with a blog or website can benefit from the extra traffic a ring generates. Of course by the very nature of the group most of the ring sites will be book related.
However, there is a sneaky thing in there. I can create multiple rings so later on we could seperate the rings out into smaller rings if we want and there would be like a ring intersection where you can hop from one ring to another. Geek heaven!
You do believe in thinking big Simon. Still, who would have imagined a year ago we'd have (notionally) over 1,500 members here?

GL, I see what you did there, but the 'gardener' didn't!!!
I'm loving that the ring is as eclectic as our group. I do see a common theme though.
Fun and friendliness. :)
I'm only 7000 words into my first novel, and my new blog has only got one post on it so far, but I'd love to join up if you're agreeable?
Right! Giving it a go but help needed!1. Site Entry URL - do I start with www. or just the name of the blog?
2. HTML Code URL - what is this and where can I find it?
3. Site ID: is this something I just make up for this 'ring'?
Cheers!
1. Full url http://www.abcdef.com2. Once you have registered you can get the code by clicking 'Get HTML' (I think). It will also be emailed to you
3. Make up your own site ID.
Good luck
Some of my instruction pages etc have got a bit muddled up. Sorry. I can't fix them until tonight.Joining instruction here (I hope)

I have registered, and added the HTML code as a widget. At the top it says .nobrtable br { display: none } for some reason.

Ah yes, I can see that. You can probably just delete that bit from the HTMl. I need to take a look and see why it is happening tonight.....
Well, I have been released from the insanity of work for the weekend so now is a good time to join the ring. It looks nice and stable and gives us a way to show what group members can do......
Wish me luck, I'm going in to see if I can either join or destroy it. Preferably the former, but if the latter, I apologise now :)
I've done things and things have appeared. No explosions or snakes, so that's a result :)http://joobook.blogspot.co.uk/
Hello SimonI have merged my two blogs. It seemed greedy to have both. The one which has demised is the one which was on the ring. So can you please remove that one from the ring?
I have registered the other one to join the ring.
Hope that is OK?
I've put it on my blog but I've some weird line of code that won't go away!.nobrtable br { display: none }
It says. I don't know why. Otherwise the widget is on my blog site. www.mtmcguire.co.uk
Cheers

MT, I had that as well. You can just go back into the code that you copies/pasted, and delete that particular bit.
Michael, many thanks, that's exactly what I did and it's gone! How unusually (and refreshingly) simple. ;-)Cheers
MTM
I will remove that bit. I put it on to fix a problem. It didn't work but I thought it was doing no harm :-)
It's a great idea, very impressive and thanks for doing it. It's had to go on my blog rather than on my pukka author site but my author site looks cool but isn't quite as widgeted up as bog-standard wordpress!I'll look forward to hopping round the circle and seeing everyone else's sites.
Cheers
MTM
