The nav bar is going to be in different places for each website. Some sites look so good I am a bit embarrassed to ask people to put my blob on it.

Via the Design - Layout buttons. There's a facility there to 'Add a Gadget' and the drop-down list gives you the option of adding HTML. You paste the HTML into the relevant box and Bob's your Uncle and Fanny's your Maiden Aunt!

Wahey! Cracked it! I now have it as a neat little wassname) can I have it in pale lilac please) under my 'About me' bit. That was the problem. As a complete numpty I had an unsuitable gadget (we' ve all done it!)

Well you have all made me look at my blog and update it now. I might update it some more. I want to add loads of photos but I think a web page might be better for that.

No, I can't put a link in the thread title. I tried that some time ago.
It is on the front page in so far as http://www.ethings.org.uk is the site web page and if you click on that you go to the ring explanation page.
