Review: I can't believe I waited to long to read this! This was a fantastic post-apoc book, completely on par with Divergent or The Hunger Games as far as storyline goes. The only true weakness in my mind was the character descriptions. You basically have no idea what anyone looks like throughout the book. Funny thing is that you are so busy enjoying the unfolding story and learning what is happening, that you barely notice that you have no clue about physical appearances. I think that is really a statement on what a good job she does on developing the emotional aspects of her characters, that the physical takes a backseat.
I can see also why so many people are distraught over the second book still being MIA. I finished this book itching for the next as well. I guess I'll just have to learn to live with disappointment until I can get my hands on it.
I would definitely recommend this one!

Review:
I loved the start but didn't enjoy the second half of the story as much.
Some things felt a little coincidental for my liking and I'm not a fan of love triangles just for the sake of adding some romantic drama - Casper wasn't really an option. I would have liked a little more development between the romantic relationship between Tish and Crim.
Probably won't be reading the next one.
-- I'll get started on my 2011 read now. I've been busy these past few weeks but hopefully I'll not let you down in case the next shelf potentially wins it for us.

Shadows Return (Nightrunner #4)

A weak entry in what has to this point been a very fine series. This book and the following (the White Road) concern the prophecy of Alec's child of no mother. I am hoping the White road is a better read.

I really enjoyed this book. The characters are interesting and gutsy. I especially like Rose - she's not the typical main character. She's got attitude and she's not the princess but rather the bodyguard..
I can tell this is a series that I'm going to end up hooked on... which is a good thing considering I bought the first five books before I even read a page... risky but paid off. I can't wait to get back into the world of St. Vladamir's.
and I've just started my Psychic book - Insatiable by Meg Cabot.

A friend just handed me

Review: And again with the fantastic books in this series! I just can't get enough of these. So many people recommended these books and they are some smart peeps b/c this series is worthwhile. Sassy dialogue, great plot lines, and just enough action versus romance to make them really good. This is Max and Sophia's story and it is great. I wasn't looking forward to the stories that weren't directly linked to a changeling but have found that these last two (Dev and Max) are really great characters. The series plot line has made major jumps in these two books and my patience has been sorely tried because there is so much 'cliff-hanger' material being thrown at me. The epilogue in Bonds of Justice about killed me. Talk about dangling a bit of temptation in front of me! Loved learning about yet another area of the Psy culture. The J-Psy are cool and Sophia was a winner all around. I'm really glad that more of the 'old school' characters like Faith, Sascha, Vaughn, Lucas, Clay, etc. are still showing up as the main story continues. More importantly, they are still progressing and not just making cameo appearances for no reason. Singh knows her business and I will definitely be reading more.

I'm nearly done with my book... About twenty percent left. :D

Insatiable by Meg Cabot
Week 12: Psychic
Completed: September 4, 2012

Review:
I'm a fan of Meg Cabot books and I did have high expectations for this one that fell a little short.
I liked the play on the names - Meena and Jon Harper... but this book had a bit of a strange vibe. A little too over the top compared to most chick-lit that I read but at the same time not quite over dramatic to be considered worthy of the name soap opera.
I thought Dorien was a little... soft? as far as his vampire cred and Meena did become a bit of a damsel in distress - despite claiming to hate the stereotype.
I'm not in a huge hurry to rush out and read the next book in the series.

Has anyone heard from Kelly?

I just want you all to know what fun I had reading with you all. I got to hear about tons of new books that weren't on my TBR before. You all did great and I hope I get to see you for the next round. Take care Coven. :)

I've had a great time being a part of team 13. My poor to-read list has suffered greatly :P
Thanks guys.

Review: Man, I love Nalini Singh, she is the best! Even when the book isn't my first pick in the series I still love it. :) Mercy is a great character and it is wonderful to see the view from a female sentinel. Riley is almost as cool as Judd (favorite character here folks) so I am obviously giving a big compliment. There was just enough angst over 'my pack loss or yours' to make it interesting without seeming like they wouldn't shut up about it which once again just illustrates that NS is awesome. I will totally be reading more.
In fact I already have! You must read these books!!!
