R5: Team #13 ~ The Clever Coven

Finished 8/5/2012
5/5
Chess is still dealing with all the emotional issues that she carries with her in this book. She is still using drugs, even more so in this book, to help cope with it all. She's also still doubtful of her relationship wtih Terrible. She did make progress when she almost ruined their relationship but she finally managed to be smart about it and not ruin what they have. They both finally found a way to become more trusting of each other. I loved when Terrible claimed Chess as his. It was one of my favorite parts in all of the books.Chess is still being pulled a different way all the time between The Church, Bump, and Lex. Now that Lex has taken over his dads business a war between him and Terrible is looming.
Someone is giving the residents of Downside drugs tainted with ectoplasm causing people to become Zombies. Chess and Terrible work to solve this mystery. It was a little easier to figure out who the bad guy was in this book than in the others. But I loved it all the same. I really dig these books and will continue to read this series as long as Ms. Kane writes them.

Review:
For some reason I didn't really like this book. I had high expectations and they weren't met. I did like how the characters were more realistic than in most of the YA novels I read. But at the same time they sort of bored me. I didn't enjoy reading about their relationship and I actually fell asleep reading this book... I can't remember the last time that happened to me whilst reading.

Review:
I do love Georgina Kincaid and her adventures. I'm sad that it's the second last one in the series but at the same time I'm glad because things between Georgina and Seth are starting to drag... I used to be on the fence about him. then I loved him. Now I'm frustrated with him because I find his actions a little... pathetic.
I'm glad that some of my favourite characters from the other books (view spoiler) are back and having important roles in the books.
I didn't love the plot... dream scenes and flashbacks are never ones I enjoy but I can tell that they're going to be important to the series as a whole.["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>

Good Job!! :D

Kitty Steals the Show (Kitty Norville, #10)
Read: August 8th
***
Will read next book?: you bet
Ok, so this is book 10 -- probably not the place to start since it picks up right after book 9. A transition book (not that is it fragmentary in anyway, but Kitty is changing she has responsibilities and they just keep piling on. Kitty is becoming.) Some readers may feel that the author's message is hanging out a bit more than they like.

Darklands (Deadtown #4)
by Nancy Holzner (Goodreads Author)
***
Finished: August 9th
Back from England and her stint as a sheep, Vicky is getting back into normal, for her, speaking at career day at the local zombie high, spending time with Kane and not so normal, losing business. Where are the demons of Boston going?
A fine read, but fell into a trap I've been finding in a fair number of books lately: It's hard to have either an epic journey, or an epic quest in a 300ish page book. Just comes off as light weight computer game.
I do enjoy the story o will read the next book.

For Angels I have:
In the House of the Wicked (Remy Chandler, #5)
by Thomas E. Sniegoski

So I'll read First Grave on the Right

FINISHED 8/9/2012

LOVED THIS BOOK!!! In Onyx we get to see a different side of Daemon that made me love him even more. He still has his cocky and smug side but there is a sweetness in there also. Katys character really grows in this book. The events that happen and the new character that JLA introduces really set the stage for Katys transformation. I don't want to say too much because ppl haven't read it yet. But poor Dee, Yay Katy and Daemon and OMG the ending. I need Opal NOW. I will continue reading this series and anything JLA writes.

There's 2000 pages for this shelf... should be something there for everyone :P

Review:
I really enjoyed reading this book. Charlie is snarky and sarcastic and I found myself laughing at her on many occasions. I found the world interesting and liked the authors take on grim reapers. I have no idea what's going to happen next and I know that this is going to be one of those series that I get hooked on.

Beast Behaving Badly (Pride #5)

A cute and somewhat silly read. Suited my need for nothing taxing to read yesterday. Will I read more in the series... Maybe, maybe not. Depends on my need for pure fluff.
8/24/12

Not sure what that does for others though. I'm sneakin'. :)
