GLaDOS and Digikids
There was a noise like metal banging together coming through the intercom. GLaDOS. Banging her giant head against a panel.
[asdjkkndndsjsnjdf XD]As the metallic banging coming through the intercom continued to go on, I started to become worried. What the heck was GLaDOS doing!? I gave the camera in the room, which I could only hope GLaDOS was still paying attention to, a confused and concerned look.
Ashley, meanwhile, was still in the sink.
The banging atopped and then came another frustrated growl. The room ripping apart, the far end of the cafeteria crumbled below the farther-away cubes, causing them to fall downwards into an abyss, lit by the lights of operational panels. The rogue panel- being controlled wirelessly, scooped the cubes away from the door of the Mess Hall, allowing a pathway for Liz.
There was a whimper-like whine that came from the AI, "Oh, my facility..."
I dashed through the cafeteria rather quicker than I needed to, but only because I was nervous of the room falling into oblivion because of weakened supports. I slowed down out in the hallway.I stayed quiet, mostly because GLaDOS actually sounded upset and I had no idea how to comfort anyone, let alone a near omnipotent supercomputer.
"I advise moving to the elevator quickly. Before more of my "life's" work is RUINED." She says, yelling at herself more than at Liz.
dThe elevator moves Liz and Ashley to a sturdier part of the facility. A quiet hall of dorm rooms. Everything seems so white and spotless. And quieter than the relaxation chambers. Staff dorm rooms.
I got out of the elevator, and Ashley trotted off randomly and happily. I just kind of loitered there awkwardly, not sure of what to do.
GLaDOS gave another sob-like-whimper, another crash came from below Liz and she growled again, "So help me, I will incinerate all of those damn panels..."
I jumped at the crash, then frowned. The place seemed to be falling apart, and judging by the way GLaDOS was reacting, she couldn't do much about it.I then decided I needed to go check where Ashley was going, and walked off the way she had went.
"If you don't remove yourself from that elevator, I will make sure you end up in a different part of the facility. A LES DESIRABLE end of the facility..." She grumbled.
"I'm already out..." I mumbled, still walking after Ashley. I rounded a corner and she was just sitting there, seemingly unconcerned that the homicidal AI in charge of the place was currently rather upset, which was not a good thing.
I picked up Ashley, leaned back against the wall, and let out a long, stressed, sigh. I started to repeat the five or so paradoxes that I had managed to memorize in my head, just to make sure I wouldn't forget them. I really hoped I wouldn't have to use them, but I needed to have some sort of self defense, just in case.
GLaDOS turned the intercom back on again, humming songs to calm /herself/ down, let alone the fact that there was an anxious human sitting against the wall of a facility that isn't even safe.and her cat.
I tilted my head slightly, listening to the humming. I contemplated saying something, but decided that waiting until GLaDOS was done humming would probably be a good idea, and stroked Ashley's head a bit.
I frowned slightly, suddenly too nervous to say anything for fear of accidentally upsetting GLaDOS.Ashley, however, had no such problems. She looked straight at a nearby camera and gave a questioning meow.
Seriously. You could just hear the question mark on the end of it.
GLaDOS Didn't pay any mind to the cameras until she gave another sigh and looked at the monitor viewing the cat, "What are you looking at?"
Ashley meowed again and purred a bit."She knows you're upset. Wants to cheer you up, and acting this way is usually how she does it."
I raised an eyebrow, and then Ashley looked at me and attempted the same."You sounded pretty darn upset when the cafeteria collapsed."
"You were upset... and who wouldn't have been under the circumstances?" I sighed, and ran a finger under Ashley's collar, then tightened it because it was pretty lose around her neck.
All the color gone from my face once again, I accidentally dropped Ashley out of fear. My finger had still been under her collar, so when she fell she let out a sort of strangled meow as her weight pulled my finger out."Sí, por supuesto!" I squeaked, only wanting to get GLaDOS to calm the heck down, and not realizing that I had spoken in Spanish until I had the words out.
GLaDOS ignored this, putting herself on mute again as another crash was heard faintly, off in the distance of the facility.
I would've been rocking on my heels if they weren't suspended off the ground by the heelsprings of my long fall boots. It would probably be best for me to just stay quiet.
Mute by choice, you could say. At least for a little while.
I knelt down and rubbed Ashley under her chin to apologize for dropping her, and to calm myself down.
I stayed silent for ten or so seconds, thinking."I... guess you could call them lessons, of a sort. A girl in my class just invited a whole bunch of people to her house one year and just started teaching them Spanish. I was one of the ones who kept going until she stopped."
I simply shrugged, and started to flick Ashley's ears. I was still nervous, but trying my best to calm down lest I do something stupid.
I cringed, and Ashley suddenly ran away in a little spazz attack, kicking me in the face as she did so.
"Getting taught by a homicidal computer who's irritable because her facility is falling apart isn't that bad?"
"I'm not irritable. And I do have the ability to be docile. I can even promise you right here, right now, that I will not get angry, take out my anger on you, yell or insult you... or your cat... as long as you agree to take some kind of schooling while you are here. Does that sound like a deal?"
"Alright. I won't start, though, until I'm prepared to teach you. First I have to configure a curriculum." She said.
Since I was already near the ground, I decided to sit down. I did so, sitting cross-legged with my hands on my knees.I nodded again to acknowledge GLaDOS, and then started lightly feeling the bandage that was covering the scratch on my face.
My headache didn't seem to be coming back, so that was good. Might have been something to do with the stasis, though.
"You are being awfully quiet. Feel free to vent your emotions at me. I don't care." She said in monotone
"I don't typically break the promises I make with people who don't irritate me. You do not irritate me."

I simply watched as GLaDOS tried to clean up the cubes. I couldn't do much of anything else, since the only way out of the kitchen was through the eating area.
Which, due to my sucker's luck, was crammed full of hundreds of cubes.
