NEW SHELF!
NEW SHELF!
In the words of Olivia Newton-John:
'Have to believe we are magic,
Nothing can stand in our way."
I'm reading Ilona Andrew's Magic Bites for the magic shelf.
Happy reading Team SS!

Kimberley, I hope you enjoy Magic Bites, it's my absolute favourite series!

I had a really hard time getting into this book. Amelia is a graveyard restorer. While working Amelia gets pulled into the murder investigation by Det. Devlin. The plot and twists in this book were good, once I got into it. I just wish that we had a little more insight as to how Devlin was feeling towards Amelia throughout the book. Instead of just how she was reacting towards him.

Let me see what I want to read for Magic. BRB

I enjoyed this one. Loved the relationship between Violet and Jay. The mystery seemed to be solved fairly early on in the book - you just knew there was something else going on. Fans of adult mysteries would probably figure it all out quickly, but someone just starting out in the genre might take a little longer. I used to read mystery/thriller books all the time, so the foreshadowing in this book was pretty transparent to me - but I still enjoyed seeing how the author revealed it to the characters. I'm looking forward to continuing this series.

Is there a post with all the Bingo Cards for each team somewhere?

Judithe's Bingo Spreadsheets

And I hope you enjoy Magic Slays, I loved it.
I'm on a Dresden role, so I'm going to read

Good Job!! :D

Another great instalment in this series, with many more heartbreaking moments and a few funny scenes in Harry's apartment. The mystery surrounding the Black Council deepens and some of the developments around certain characters make me giddy for the next book.

We have another stamp! We're so close!
I just finished my book for the "magic" stamp, but I've got to go to sleep.
I'll post it first thing in the morning.
Happy reading!

I equate this book to a television show you catch on a Saturday afternoon while flipping through the channels. You have no idea what's going on, but you watch anyway just to see what happens. Then it ends and you're interested in it enough to find out when it really comes on so you can watch the next episode.
I liked Kate. She was cool. I wasn't too thrilled about what happened between her and Crest. I don't blame her because he seemed too random to not have on ones radar as someone not to trust. But that was the point the real villain was trying to demonstrate; throw us off radar so we run around in circles trying to figure it all out. It's still too bad Crest is out of the picture.
OOOO! I wonder if he comes back with a vengeance. Now that would be cool! I would be so Team Crest if that happened!
Then there's Curran. I knew what was up with him right off the bat. Well that and the fact he's kind of on the cover.
I called a friend mid way through the book and yelled at her about him. I asked her why Curran didn't just do Kate and get it over with. She laughed at me and then hung up.
In an odd twist of fate, I have the rest of the series and am interested in reading the next book soon to see what happens.

New shelf! New shelf! New shelf! New shelf!

Don't worry, I'll help you out :)

I enjoyed this book. It was a fun fast paced book that kept my attention. My favorite parts of the book were Sabina and Gigulh's interactions. I'll definitely read the next one to see what kind of trouble Sabina and her sexy hexy get into next.

I'm going to give Kate Daniels another try. I'm going to read

I have a feeling I may get hooked on this series. I was poking around on the author's website and read two twitter reads between Jim, Kate and Curran. Very funny.

Magic Slays by Ilona Andrews
This latest installment in the Kate and Curran saga was almost perfect! I love the way Kate and Curran are becoming more accepting of each others abilities, and the way they are learning how to compromise with each other, yet still manage to help each other when it's needed.
Ah, Julie. What have you gotten yourself into now..... Love Ascanio! Wonder if they'll get together later on. That would be enough to give Kate apoplexy!

Bite Me by Parker Blue was a fun read. Surprisingly intense at points. Set in San Antonio Texas. Had enough detail about the town to make it seem authentic, but not so much that I could find fault with the setting. Loved the relationship between the H/h. It's a rocky one, but that's what makes it believable. I'll definitely be continuing this series.

And boy is that a coincidence, they haven't been here in 25 yrs.

*le sigh*
JT is still kinda pretty.

Episode 2: Magic Burns. It burns hard.
It's Saturday afternoon again and my new story's coming on. This time, I'm ready for it to show and I have snacks.
I'm so disappointed in Crest. I was ready to make t-shirts and bags saying Team Crest, but nooooo. He had to go chicken shit and not face anyone. Instead he sends his fiance to ask for permission. Bleh. I'm done with him. Besides, there's a new guy named Bran that sounds like fun.
I was smacked up side the head just like Kate when Andrea and Aunt B were talking to her about Curran and the soup. I didn't catch that at all and I remember the big deal he made in the first book about Derek and the sandwich.
I'm glad Julie made it and got to see Red for the color he truly is. But like I didn't see that one coming.
I was sad at what happened to Bran in the end. Even though he foreshadowed what would happen to him, it was still sad to read.
No one else stood out that much to comment about, so I end it here.
I'm still warming up to this series but I'm anxious to get to the next story to continue the ride.
