The Serpent in the Glass
I loved the influences (NO, NOT HP!) and the fact that there is plenty of scope to go further with this. I hope you're working on Book 2?
PS I loved Jessica's obsession with shopping!

I've got a number of books on the go, but book #2 isn't one of them yet (though I have a title and a story idea). I have 2 other fantasy books I'm working on - one with a 13-year-old boy and another with a 17-year-old boy, both with female counterparts of the same age. They both go much more swiftly into the action than Serpent, especially the former which - unusually for me - is written in first person.
I am finishing up two short parodies at present. There's so much I want to write, and so many ideas!

I didn't feel that Serpent was slow to start. I know one or two of your US reviews suggested so. They are wrong! There's nothing like self faith eh?
I rather like first person stories. I know some people don't but they are immediate.
Well, after my Serpent experience I look forward to whatever you present us with!

I prefer third person, to write and read, but first person can work well for some stories.

Ok, not really but I will read the book, and probably leave a review. Can't promise anything on the Harry Potter or X-men front though

X-Men - pfft. Not a fan. ;)

I've worked out how can you find out how much like me you are!

:)

Actually some I left as they were because I don't watch Dr Who OR Merlin.
Edit - Anyway, aren't you supposed to be writing? It says in the thread title!

The Kindle will be bought when my Amazon cheque comes! Besides, still got to decide which one... Touch probably...

+ Middle Grade fantasy - done.
* Parody of classic literature - publishing very soon
+ (younger) YA first-person fantasy - at 12k
+ (older) YA fantasy - at 30k
+ historical fiction - not started
+ suspense/thriller - not started (but got an idea)
+ fairy tales (humour) - about 25% done
+ sci-fi - not started but lots of ideas

Pride and prunejuice is brilliant! I look forward to its release.

I think I might give chick-lit and romance a miss...P&P counts as romance anyway ;)

I can never seem to work out how to navigate around the Amazon forums. I seem to have entirely lost the Meet our Authors forum, and I cannot find anything about April Indie Authors.
I must be doing something wrong with these forums :(
