Circe's Academy for Gifted Youth discussion

Sean walked through the forest, whistling to himself and tossing an apple from one hand to the other as he walked. Looking up at the trees above him he smiled and took a bite of his apple. Leaning against a tree he smiled to himself, enjoying nature.

((Oh, I am totally taking advantage of an open one ;) ))

Addyson leaned over a small puddle not far from the trails that were cut out for people throughout it. She currently was holding her hair up as she contorted the water in the other, making different shapes and sizes with the water available. Addyson hadn't practiced her powers in a while now and knew that she needed more practice. This was a quiet place, so she thought that it would be fun to work on them here.

((exactly! I haven't in this ground yet :P))

Jade hopped over yet another twisted tree root which was bulging out of the ground. The floor was littered with leaves, but she remained confident that she was going to find some sorce of clear water here. At least it would be hidden and she wouldn't have to do all the sneaking she normally got up to.

((I don't think I've really RP'ed Zeke so I'll RP him ^^ ))

Zeke walked around the very dark and shady forest, just how he liked it. His sensitive skin would start to burn at even the smallest patch of sunlight, and the vampire sunscreen only helped a bit. But Zeke liked the outdoors and this was his favorite place.

Jade stopped halfway through a step and rose a brow.
These leaves were too crunchy. She could hear someone else making their way through the forest.... She wasn't granting anymore wishes. She silently sunk down behind the trunk of a tree and watched, trying to spot whoever she had heard.

Zeke approached a darker part of the forest. It was cool and musty here and the leaves crunched loudly under his feet. It was just how he liked it. Zeke decided to take a break from him hike and sat down, back against a tree and eyes closed.

Of course, it had to be the tree Jade was attempting to hide behind.
"The Sea Gods hate me..."
She muttered bitterly under her breath in a harsh whisper.
If she tried getting up, the leafs were going to crunch so loud, they'll wake whoever was on the other end up. Brilliant. Just fantastic.

Zeke got up with extraordinary speed, as part of his vampire trait, and looked around. He spotted a girl who was on the ground, trying to get up. He offered his hand to help her up. "Are you okay?" Zeke asked slightly concerned.

"I'm fine...."
Jade mumbled, the words rolling out of her mouth as a small smile appeared on her face. She hadn't known that the person round the other end was a handsome young man... She felt the heat creep onto her cheeks as she took his hand, mumbling a quick thanks once she was on her feet again.

"Ok then. You're welcome." Zeke said with a big smile that revealed his vampire fangs. "You look familiar. What's your name?" He asked kindly as he brushed some of the leaves off of his pants.

Compose yourself, compose yourself, compose yourself.
Jade was able to smile a little more naturally once she managed to obey the order her mind was giving off. She spotted his fangs in his smile... Vampire. Good then, he was a mystical being, too.
"My name's Jade... And yours would be?"

"Zeke. You can probably tell I'm a vampire. You must be a. . .?" He left the question lingering in the air waiting for her to answer. Zeke could see that Jade was very beautiful and had a beautiful voice and had a suspicion she was a siren.

And though his suspicions were correct, Jade would never reveal the fact that she was a siren to anyone because of that one thing which placed her in danger. So instead, she said,
"I'm a shape shifter... In fact, this might not even be my true form right now."
She smirked... And hoped that her lying was better than she thought it sounded.

"Lies. I can tell your lying by the guilty look in your eyes. Now come on. Really, what are you?" Zeke asked with a small grin, now even more curious to know.

Jade's smirk dropped as quickly as it had come.
"...I was afraid you were going to see through that."
She mumbled, leaning against the tree and staring down at the leafs, which were being picked up and carried away by the soft breeze every now and again.
"I'm not a very good liar."

"I can tell." Zeke said with a foolish grin. "It's fine though, we're all bad and something. Besides honesty is the best policy right?" He asked still grinning, as he ran his hand through his hair.

"Yup. Couldn't have said it better myself, actually."
Jade agreed. She had to hide her smirk. She had twisted her way out of the question. Being a siren gave her that quality. Afraid that he was going to catch another look in her eyes or something, she let her hair fall in front of her eyes and slowly slid down the tree into a sitting position. Her back against the bark.

Zeke sat down as well. "You still haven't answer my question. Come on, we're all weird species here. What's the worst that could happen?" Zeke insisted, curious to know. "What if I guess and you tell me I'm right if I get it?"

Maybe she had gotten a little too far ahead of herself... No need to hide any sort of smirk anymore. She blew a puff of air onto her dark hair, blowing it out of her eyes so that she could turn to look at him.
"Okay. Fine. But you only get three guesses."

Zeke grinned. "Nice ok, Angel?" He asked even though he had suspicions for a siren. He just wanted to see how she'd react at that guess.

Jade half scoffed and half laughed out her words.
"No! Angels are supposed to have this weird natural glow thing. Haven't you ever seen one before?"

"Nope. I actually have not met an angel, however I really wish to see one." He said in a wishful tone. Then Zeke went with his original guest. "Are you a siren, Jade?" He asked.

Jade simply stared for a moment, half in shock and half in wonder. After that she knew that there was too long a pause to make up a lie for it.
"How did you..."
She mumbled in a low sort of whisper as she looked him right in the eyes. She began scrambling away from him, making the loudest rustling noise amongst all the leafs. She didn't stop until she was on her feet and at least three meters away from him.

Zeke stood up alarmed he said something wrong. "Hey, hey. What's wrong? Listen I'm not gonna hurt you." He said taking a step back and putting his hands up to calm her down. "Besides why would I want to anyway?"

"You mean... You don't know about..."
Jade was still completely tense. People had tricked her like this before. She loosened up just a little, however her palm remained open and spread out across the bark of one of the trees nearby.

"I don't know if someone catches a siren then they get a wish? Obviously I know that. But I also know a siren can twist the wish so much that the person who made it would regret even asking. So, if that's what you're talking about, no I'm not here to capture you, nor do I want to. Besides, if I wanted to I could have already." Zeke said sincerely, trying to be reasonable.

"There have been people who've tricked me in that way..."
Jade mumbled, in a mysteriously calm tone.
"Though it's not the wish I'm worried about. It's being locked up in a tank and sold from merchant to merchant for their stupid wish."

"That's horrible. I'm sorry you had to go through that. Though it can't happen at the academy. For one things illegal and they have spells that prevent it." Zeke explained as he lowered his hands.

"Wait... They do that here?"
Jade whispered in a small voice.
"So...There aren't any tanks?"

Zeke shook his head. "Nope! Once your in the academy your under their full protection unless you're off campus or graduate and leave for good." He explained with a small smile.

"So I've been worrying about this topic for ages in the academy when really...."
Jade decided to simply trail off and leave it hanging at that.
"Thank the sea Gods."
She finally murmured in a small voice as she walked closer. She suddenly found herself feeling slightly embaressed about how she had reacted to the situation.
"I'm...sorry about that."

Zeke shrugged. "It's fine. I can understand why though. I would have been the same if I was in your position." He said to her with a smile. "So . . . " He said moving on. "What house are you in?"

"Lenox and proud."
Grinned Jade, standing beside him... Looking and feeling much less tense than she had been before.
"How about you?"

"Avaster, have been for about 3 years, since I got here." He said with an equally big grin. "This is your first year, I'm guessing?" Zeke asked Jade as he laid his back against a tree.

"Yeah, first."
Jade confirmed, sitting back down onto the ground and crossing her legs. The breeze was still picking up a few of the crunchy leaves and carrying them away. It was annoyingly beginning to pick up her hair with it, too. Though she never used to tie it back and wasn't about to start now.

"Well, if you want, I could show you around campus a bit. Unless someone already did." He offered with a smile. Zeke was really looking forward to being friends with this girl, especially after what she'd been through he wanted to show her not everyone was like the people who practically tortured her.

"I haven't really been shown around."
Jade said with a small smile which appeared to be gradually growing.
"I mean, I've gotten used to where all my classes are, but this place is so huge that I haven't really... Explored."

Zeke smiled. "I know what you mean. It took me a few months to really get used to the place. I could show you around sometime, after class or on the weekend if you want." He offered.

"That would be... Seriously perfect."
Jade said, a small chuckle escaping her lips right after finishing her words.
"You're really nice."
She added, almost as an afterthought which had been at the back of her mind from some time ago.

"Thanks. I have to go meet my twin sister now. So I guess I'll show you around later, Saturday outside your house?" He asked as he got up swiftly, causing a burst of wind in the process.

"Sounds good."
Jade said, still smiling. She pushed herself up so that she was standing, too. She could continue her hunt for a patch of clear water now.
"Bye. See you Saturday. And have fun with your sister."

"I'll see you then. And that would be a miracle, having fun with Dakota." Zeke said shaking his head, but still smiling. However much he and Dakota fought they still loved each other. "Well bye!" He said than ran off at vampire speed to meet up with Dakota.

Jade chuckled and waved as he ran. Now, it was back to searching for her. She slowly turned round and continued on through the trees, smiling like an idiot the whole way through. The first bit of her trip had gone much better than expected...
