I finally made it through Dearly, Departed. It was rough but overall setting my zombie dislikes aside I gave it 4 stars.

It has a pink cover, Started out at a boarding school, and set in a Dystopian future.

Ok, by my calculations here is where the teams are.

Team 2 89/210= 42%

Team 1 54/180=30%


We are only 12% behind. We can catch up if all try to get as many items per book as possible.

I am going to send Dana a message to see if she is ok.

okay....I am not sure if this is PNR Or UF or a bit of both. It involves a powerful maybe evil vamp who wants to control the world and there is a love interest who is compelled to stop him from doing that. Can I use this as my urban fantasy book selection? Some call it UF and some call it PNR.

Okay....I am done reading my Urban Fantasy book:

Takes place in an urban setting/city, Has a female lead who is a loner, fighting a war against herself and other pre-natural beings for the salvation of Mankind, They tend to be rich in back stories and are often told in first person POV.

It has Demons, Vampires, Witches, Ghosts, Fae & Werewolfs in it. It is a black cover, sole female on the cover and in the book.

It was a wild ride. This is the story of the aging amusement park: Dream Land. This park is the prison to four horrible demons and a fifth one that's rather fun; ironically, the fun demon is named "Fun." There are fifth humans (called the Guardia) who live on the grounds of the park and are charged with keeping the demons trapped in their chalices. It seems like a serious premise, but the book is actually quite funny and at times, romantic.

Other Items: Blue cover and dragons.

OK, so even though I am a lousy teammate and have not been communicating AT ALL, I have been reading my books. (OK, I still can't find a pink that fits but life is not perfect right? :)

So here is my catching up to help with points hopefully....

Have you ever had the experience of reading a book where you flip back and forth between too much background and not enough background? This book was full of that issue so it was definitely not in my favorite books. If we could have evened these random moments of too much/too little out, it would have done extremely well. Or at least better, hhmmmm.

Writing style notwithstanding, I did like the story and the overall concept of how the fallen angels live currently, how they came to be, and who the 'bad guy' is was interesting. Also the transition to the next book was smoothly done and I look forward to the next installment as well.

Alli was pretty much a bimbo in all regards, so the author obviously did something right so that I came away liking the story and not wanting to rant about dim-witted female leads and how they all need to be burned off the page. Scumps to Ms. Douglas for that. Although others didn't like Raziel's character, I thought he was exactly as he should be given the circumstances. That doesn't make him great, but definitely right for the part. :)

Overall an enjoyable story but has some weak moments in the writing. I am looking forward to seeing if the writer can mature in the next installment and really 'wow' me.

Review: OK, it is official for me. You guys were right and this book was great.

Yes, Steph was right on another point too. (Crazy, right?) Bones is totally sexy! The boy is smokin' hawt! Also, I liked that his story of becoming a vampire is not all romantic and shmarmy.

Cat is a great character and I thought that her biology difficulty was a great story premise. The chemistry with Bones and Cat is great and her training cracked me up. Ted the truck driver was a nice touch. :)

Overall I really liked this story and look forward to reading more in this series.

Best line: "He poltergeisted my panties!"

Review: This is a really hard book for me to rate/review.

It was a really good book, well developed, and had some great action. It completely earned the 4 stars I gave it. However, I think this might be my least favorite in the series. It's a great series and they are all good, but they can't all be number one, right? This one wasn't.

Although it had plenty of action, introduced some new characters, and resolved many issues from the last book, I still felt like parts of it had been drawn out a bit longer than they should have and I felt like there were 2 more chapters needed at the end. The end had a very intermission kind of feel to it. It makes me wish even harder for the next book because for the first time instead of being anxious for the next book because the previous was so good at building anticipation, I want the next because I feel a bit shorted somehow.

Maybe time or rereading the series will help my mood toward this installment. Regardless, it was a great book and I still love The Hollows with a fever. :)

I finished loved this book. Can't wait to read the next one. Give 4 stars.

Ahg.... I have NO red books in my possession. I have a few waiting at the library for me. I really hope one of those is red.

I told myself that if one of these weeks was tough for me and it was a color week, that I would just go to Goodwill and shop for a paperback. Only a dollar or two and they shelve them all by color (no joke).

UPDATE ON WHAT'S BEEN HAPPENING WITH ME LATELY: First off, I'm really sorry I haven't been reading much and being much of member of this team lately, but there's a perfectly good explanation for that. I took a blood test earlier this month and got the results last Friday. I've hypothyroidism and the test also showed I was a little anemic so my doctor put me on thyroid medication, iron pills, and 2 other ones. I'm hoping that would explain why everything has been out of whack for me since December and why I've been feeling so tired lately. This is the only 3rd day of being on the medication and a few people who have gone through this have said that things will get better over time. Now, I can work on catching up on all my reading...
