Sarah Dizon (sarahd828) | 1376 comments Nice list!! I didn't even think of doing something like that, but it all depends on what I have available to read at the time the shelf is called.

Wouldn't it be awesome? My DH has been twice (turkey!) and he would love to go again, but dud..."

Your DH is lucky!! Ugh, I hate that traveling is so expensive! I really want to go to Scotland, and England too but it's so much money! I can't even really travel in the US because of costs. Oh well, hopefully after I graduate and get a real job, I can travel. :D *crosses fingers*

Rosina | 1714 comments When can we start the free space read? Not sure if I am having blonde moments, or senior moments or brain farts.....but we have to wait correct???

Dana (erato) | 922 comments Laura wrote: "im from Estonia, but i live in Turkey :) enjoying the mediterranean weather :P"

Ah, I hear Turkey is fantastic! OK guys, on our way to see Sandra, we need to stop off in Turkey to hang with Laura. Oh, or you could meet us there Sandra! (I bet it's nice and warm in Turkey.) Will you take me to Pamukkale if I come and visit? Mother Nature is beauitiful all the time, but those pools are like her jewelry. So gorgeous!

message 55: by Dana (new)

Dana (erato) | 922 comments @ Zaanodes: I hear you! I want to travel to Europe so badly I can taste it! The spouse just wants to go to tropical climates. He grew up there! How much beach does one man need I ask you? Hhmmmph *pouts*

Uhhmmmm, and your organization is freakin' me out a bit. You are like organizational 'magic'. Like personal assistant to POTUS organized. I bow to your might!

Free space read can be started anytime on/after 24 July.

I'm happy for Dana to be el Capitano but I'll have to do the updates at the beginning of the thread cause no one else can edit the spot. But I'll just copy & paste Dana's updates so that should be cool :)

Just checked my handy dandy time zone thingo & I'm 17 hours ahead of LA ie 6pm Thurs there & 11am Fri here, (LA is on daylight savings) and it is 4am Fri in Ankara, so that is 7 hrs ahead of Laura. Miami is 9pm Thurs, also ds time, so 14 hrs difference. Zina are you on pacific or central time zones, I remember you said rocky mtn time but are you on Sarah time or half way to Zaanodes time?

message 58: by Rosina (new)

Rosina | 1714 comments Right now it is 7:30 pm. I am 2 hours behind Florida and 1hour ahead of California time

message 59: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25908 comments Ah, OK, that's like Steph & Judithe are 1 hr behind me. Makes it easy to chat when you know who could be around. I've changed me to Sydney cause just like US we've got 3 time zones.

So using Dana as ground zero *salute el capitan*

Sarah= California - Ground zero
Dana= Washington - Ground zero
Zaanodes= Florida - + 3 hrs
Zina= Alberta - + 1 hr
Laura= Turkey - + 10 hrs
Sandra= Sydney, Australia - + 17 hrs

message 68: by Zaanodes (new)

Zaanodes | 804 comments As for organizational comments...

I do purely in self-defense...and for the team! I don't have internet at home. My DTB's are being boxed ready to move. So, this is the easiest and quickest way for me to start reading as soon as the shelf is announced. I get frustrated doing web stuff on my Kindle to the point I want to throw the (insert multiple 4-letter-words here).

My last DTB that I need to order: I emailed my dealer yesterday. He has not responded as yet.

Europe, Asia, South America, Africa...
Snow (to visit), mountains, desert, island...
Northern Hemisphere, Southern Hemisphere...
East, West...

Maybe even the Arctic and the Antarctic...

(I already said Australia...Did I miss any place...
SPACE!!!)

message 82: by Sandra, Kindle Operator Licence Required (new)

Sandra | 25908 comments Zaanodes, I have a very good friend (think bridesmaid) who has been to all the places you listed except the Arctic & Space.

There is always the next trip to be planned. She has a good job, which she hates, and is single. That's how she does it.

message 83: by Zaanodes (new)

Zaanodes | 804 comments I like SSiZZLE!

message 84: by Dana (new)

Dana (erato) | 922 comments You guys are hysterical! And who cares where I am? Spell away! :)

Although I do like having the sirens part in there myself if we end up going with this theme. The sirens-style avatars could be fun...I'm not sure I want my avatar to be bacon. ;D

Second thought....bacon rocks! Spell like mad. :)

message 85: by Zaanodes (new)

Zaanodes | 804 comments Yeah! 2 of my DTB's are here!!

:( Dealer has NOT contacted me!!

Sirens SiZZLE...hmmm, I like that, too!

message 90: by Zaanodes (new)

Zaanodes | 804 comments Dang, I just realized...I like all of the suggestions. Please don't make me vote...

message 91: by Rosina (new)

Rosina | 1714 comments I can't decide either. Maybe should put in a hat and draw a name. I think Sirens is a good creature to go with.

Sizzling sirens is a burlesque troop in California Not sure if I could do a pole dance But sure would have fun trying

Zaanodes | 804 comments Sandra wrote: "Zaanodes, I have a very good friend (think bridesmaid) who has been to all the places you listed except the Arctic & Space..."

I bet she has some interesting stories and pictures to share!

FYI: Woot! Last DTB ordered! Usually he has orders in less than a week. Cutting it close if that shelf is called first, but I should be ok.
