purplemunchkim ...I meant Jamie. LOL!
Well he will be Jace so I think we need to get used to the idea that he is Jace.

Anyway, I was looking more like obsessing for pictures of Jamie and I have to say that googling pictures of Jamie is not very Jace-inspiring... more like frightening actually, with all the heavy eyeliner and unsexy hair going on. And I guess this must be why a lot of us is having a hard time dealing with him being Jace when Jace is like SUPER HOT! The nuclear bomb of all hotness! Hahaha!

Well I just want to post some of the pics I found that miraculously didn't look as bad as the others.

THIS looks like a Jace and Valentine moment, EXCEPT I was imagining a younger Valentine like Daniel Craig? teehee!

So what do you guys think? And you're all welcome to share some better pictures here if you have some. ^_^

Alison I just watched the first episode of Camalot last night where Jamie plays King Arthur and now I'm soooo excited that he's playing Jace. His acting was crazy good. He will do an excellt job.

I love the 2nd picture with the wet hair. OMFG!

Oh and that's why he has that hairstyle at the minute - for playing King Arthur. Obviously he wont have that hair for Jace.

Savannah To be honest, this is not the way I see Jace. Not at all. And there are probably a lot of people out there that disagree with me. But I don't see Jace in him at all. Though I must say Jamie is an incredible actor. He really is. I loved The Prisoner, I watched every episode. And he was great in HP and Twilight. But he just isn't Jace to me.

I had this massive conversation with my sister the other afternoon, she has read the books, and we both agree that for the movie to be a success they should probably get some actors that aren't apart of Hollywood. The actors there are in all the movies, and eventually some of the characters just lose there meaning, or the way they are meant to be.

Anyways, just my opinion. You might think Jamie is the perfect Jace. But at the moment if they do go ahead with the movie(and I don't know if they actually have the green light on it yet), I'm not really sure if I want to watch it. The books are amazing, and I'm not convinced that they would be able to recreate it.

Savannah Though Jamie is very gorgeous...

Alison Jamie only has 2 lines in twilight though. And I think most people don't even realise he is in harry potter cos its only a flash back scene for about 3 seconds... so I wouldn't write him off for already being in franchises.

I don't think they would ever get anyone who looks exactly how I imagine Jace in my head becuase obviously that's my imagination. That's the beauty of reading books. We see these characters in our heads.

But for the purpose of films, I think we need to step back a bit and look at the bigger picture and try to accept that - firstly, the people making the films cannot see into all our heads and then go and pick someone who looks exactly like that; secondly everyone has a different idea in their head anyway; and thirdly they have to hire someone who can act, at the right price, at the right time and who can embody the character of Jace, whether he looks like him or not.

It is the same with any book adaptation, I think we just need to see the films and the books as 2 different things and then we can enjoy them for what they are.

There. I'm done lol.

Etough I think it all depends on how they fix him up in the movie. There are some pictures of him where he is almost too pretty to be Jace and then others where he looks perfect for the roll. I think my only problem with this movie is not who they pick for the characters but how this will even transfer into a movie. It is so involved! I could almost see this as more of an Anime than a live action movie.

And Alison, you have a very good point! Seperating a movie and a book to two seperate things is a much better way of enjoying a movie. You just have to be prepared for the cheese factor to be much higher in the movie since thoughts and emotions are not as easily tranferred on screen as they are in the book. (Edward's rediculously funny brooding looks anyone from the first Twilight movie anyone??)

Shivani Love the rock N roll one! BADASS!

Stephanie And Alison, you have a very good point! Seperating a movie and a book to two seperate things is a much better way of enjoying a movie. You have a good point here. But I do think that the emotion can be expressed without the cheese by a very exceptional actor. It's difficult to have that level of acting ability as a teenager, though, so I think it's best to just brace for some cheese. And oh yes, I definitely know what you mean about the Twilight movie...lol.

Roohdaar DAYUMMMMM!! He looks delicious! I can REALLY see Jace in him now! Wow. Well, I already loved him before. I just love him even MORE! If that's even possible. =D

JAMIE CAMPBELL-BOWER FOR THE WIN!! !

Etough @Stephanie - LOL!! I'm glad someone is with me on the Twilight movie (which btw...even with his rediculously funny overacting...which has thankfully been toned down since the first movie...I still loved it for the sheer cheesetasticness of it)
You are definitely correct though. Emotions can definitely be portrayed on screen...it's just the internal monologue you usually get in a book isn't right in front of you. So usually it takes a more seasoned actor to show it.

(SOrry for getting off topic!!) Back on the topic of Jamie! I checked out his IMDB page and he has done more than I thought. Who knows...this guy could potentially be awesome as Jace. He has a broader background than I thought!

Savannah Alison wrote: "Jamie only has 2 lines in twilight though. And I think most people don't even realise he is in harry potter cos its only a flash back scene for about 3 seconds... so I wouldn't write him off for a..."

Yes, yes. I agreed with you. A movie can never be the same as the book, and sometimes people over look that. I went to see the Mary Poppins musical about a month ago, and my sister was complaining that it was different. And thats what i said to her. You have to go into it knowing that they won't be exactly the same. But capable of excepting that there will be differences between the movie, book and musical.

Totally agree with everything. I think people are so into the outward appearance of Jace that that's all we focus on. You see I always think that Jace is "uncastable" (is there such a word? LOL!). And maybe Alex Pettyfer is the closest we can think of who physically looks like Jace but can he embody Jace as we know him? I don't think he can. Honestly, as much as I think that Alex is Hot, he would suck as Jace.

I want to see Jace come alive on screen, that's what movies are for - to see our characters in live action.

Looks? It can be manipulated but acting you can't (not right away especially if you're bad at it). Anyway, what I'm saying is, I'm giving Jamie the benefit of the doubt. I'm going to wait until I see an official picture, poster, interview, trailer and whatever before I could judge without question.

Alison Thats the attitute to have. Give the guy a chance before writing him off. Give him the benefit of the doubt. Let him show us what he can do. We also need for the script to be right and the other characters to be cast for it all to come together before we can even worry about one character...

Anyway, if anyone wants to see him in action, he plays King Arther in the Camalot series that started on channel 4 last week and he was incredible. Its on again tonight at 9 o clock and I can't wait to watch him again.. and of course he's yummy so that's always an added bonus.

Thank you! Finally! We need to all give him a chance, guys! The movies didn't even come out, guys!

Andre and Sophie He's so scrawny! Jace is supposed to have muscles.

Alison People go to the gym and get muscles. Look at Taylor Lautner

Andre and Sophie He is not Taylor Lautner last time I checked!

P.S. I still don't think he is a good Jace. He's cute, but Jace is the definition of everything HOT! Whatever!

Christy Qualls I just hope the eyes don't look stupid like in twilight and I hope they give him the CURLS

Christy Qualls Sophie wrote: "He's so scrawny! Jace is supposed to have muscles."

Cassandra Clare mentioned something about him bulking up for the roll... He won't be scrawny.

Agreed, Jace was made to be a god in the book. This is going to be another Edward/Twilight thing all over again....

Sophia In my opinion it's weird I still always have this picture of alex pattyfer in my head BUT I think he's very changeable, isn't he??

Lilian I LOVE THE SECOND PICTURE...So sexyyy

Alison When i said 'look at taylor lautner' i didn't mean he LOOKS like taylor lautner......!

I meant look how taylor lautner managed to bulk up at the gym for his role...

Hannah sorry but i don't this guy is very good looking and i don't think he would suit the role of Jace...

I think he looks more like kyle from CoFA than Jace he has a kinda girly look to him.

purplemunchkim Maddie wrote: "I think he looks more like kyle from CoFA than Jace he has a kinda girly look to him."

Kyle? Hmmm... I'm not so sure about that. I don't think Kyle was described as feminine looking but more like as a blonde surfer or something.

Victoria i like the one that has he caption of valentine and jace. although he needs to be more idk muscular to be jace!! and i want his hair to be alittle darker and more layered like the one at this site: http://regancoomer.files.wordpress.co...

its better i think but he still doesnt have the look to him... :(

Elizabeth Cornish The photos that are here do Jace no justice. Jace is supposed to be totally gorgeous, this guy isn't. The perfect Jace for the movie is Alex Pettyfer.

Elizabeth Cornish you are totally right. I mean Alex Pettyfer can't exactly pull of the Jace Wayland look, but he's as good as it's gonna get.

purplemunchkim Elizabeth wrote: "you are totally right. I mean Alex Pettyfer can't exactly pull of the Jace Wayland look, but he's as good as it's gonna get."

I guess since JCB was already casted to play Jace then he is also as good as we'll ever gonna get.

I like Alex Pettyfer myself but I guess JCB is starting to grow on me and I've finally accepted him as Jace.

Liane I'm reading city of bones right now! :) i'm not sure how i like the jace they chose. i think i like alex pettyfer better. but who knows. : )it's not really a biggie for me. : )

Waverley no offense but in the first pic he looks kinda special, but to me he doesn't look like jace at all....alex pettyfer would be way better for the role.

Sally I picture the young Arthur I Merlin as Jace. He's goegeous

message 35: by Dawn (new) - rated it 5 stars

Dawn Hale Alex Pettyfer would be a good Jace, just a bit more cocky and some more muscles

purplemunchkim Just found this out, Jamie tweeted that he's going to get a TMI tattoo like next week. I wonder what it would be... hmm...

Yasmeen he should get his hair to be like it was in Prisoner cause he looked like Jace [to me]..It might be some rune..umm..which rune?

Yasmeen im talking about the tattoo he might get..

message 39: by Kimi (new) - rated it 5 stars

Kimi I don't know about him for Jace but if Cassandra Clare cried when she saw his audition, I'm confident in her inspiration and judgement. I'm excited to see how he'll do as well as Lily Collins. =)

Hahaha oh yeah.. wouldnt mind a few shirtless scenes lol

Yasmeen hahaha agree

message 43: by Dawn (new) - rated it 5 stars

Dawn Hale ;) lol

Sally Just took a look at those pictures of Jamie Pettyfer and really, people really do have different ideas of beauty don't they?
If Jace is supposed to be perfect male beauty, I would think Jamie's rather ordinary nose would put him out for starters. Sorry if that hurts someone's feelings but I wouldn't call him beautiful.
How about the gorgeous boy in I am number four? Forget his name, but his smile!

Sally Okay, now I've made a fool of myself - not uncommon ( g) because it is Alex Pettyfer I mean too. I don't know who that Jamie is, but that's the one I don't like, but Alex? Oh yeah!!!

message 46: by Dawn (new) - rated it 5 stars

Dawn Hale They originally offered the role to Alex Pettyfer, but he turned it down and Jamie Campbell Bower go it

message 48: by Beth (new) - rated it 3 stars

Beth Grenfell totally not seeing it. I'm pretty sure that if I were to pass this kid on the street I probably wouldn't even notice him. He's nothing special whatsoever.

message 49: by [deleted user] (new)

I was picturing more of a Alex Pettyfer type of thing

purplemunchkim Kayla Lia Wayland Malfoy wrote: "I was picturing more of a Alex Pettyfer type of thing"

Everyone does except Alex already turned down the offer and Jamie passed the audition with flying colors. :)
