Can someone help find a particular book please?

is it?"It sounds awesome Brenda and I've added it. But it's not the book I was looking for.
Ace, check out this link on Pinterest and see if your book is there - too many books cover to list.https://www.pinterest.com.au/janbicke...
Mish you are a gem.It was
Obviously my vague little description could apply to a number of those books on Pinterest. There are some stunning floral covers there.

Hooray!!!!
I know! Stunning. Your TBR list was starting to look like the Pinterest link! You were adding all these floral books LOL!

Yes, I'll be ready for any flower book challenges that come up!
The one above I have added to my April in Wonderland- Queen of Hearts - Read a book that has red flowers on the cover.
Thanks again for your help.
I am looking for an author who is, I am pretty sure, Australian. She wrote really easy going, clean novels/light romance about rural living in Australia (young couple struggling with sheep farm, friends opening a bed and breakfast in rural Australia, such stories). I read these books (and there were quite a few, 10+) around 1980, could have been that they were published years before this (1960+ possible). These books were translated into German, so I would assume they are not a complete novelty. Any thoughts?

Thanks for the input! This author wrote much lighter (fluffier?) than Colleen McCullough, I remember the books being very upbeat and feel-good.
I looked at Jackie French, but she did not start publishing before 1990. She also seems to write books for children. The books I am trying to find were about protagonists in their 20s to 30s.
Sure appreciate the suggestions, hoping for more! :)
marlin1 wrote: "I don’t think this is who your looking for but I thought of Di Morrissey."Thanks for checking back. Unfortunately her books are published too recently (after 1990).
I am starting to wonder if the books I read 35 years ago might have been about rural living in Australia, but written by a German author (I read them in Germany, German language), which would explain why I don't seem to be able to find them here.
I am hoping someone can help me with the title of this book. Set in rural Tasmania or Victoria, a boy/teenager goes out killing rabbits to support his family whilst his older brother is overseas fighting in WW1 or 2. I feel it may be a more recent publication. I heard about it on RN's bookshelf program but haven't been able to find it on the website.
Heike wrote: "I am looking for an author who is, I am pretty sure, Australian. She wrote really easy going, clean novels/light romance about rural living in Australia (young couple struggling with sheep farm, fr..."Lucy Walker wrote popular romances in the 1960s set in Australia.
Nancy Cato also published books in the 1960s about Australians in Australia. I haven't read any so don't know if they are what you're looking for. I think some of hers are historical fiction.
Sheep farming reminds me of Mary Scott who wrote ca. 40 light romance novels about young couples living in New Zealand.
60 years ago I read a series of books about a boy and his horse on an outback station. I really loved that series but have no idea what it was called or who the author was. Long shot, I know, but does anyone have any ideas?

Fury, Stallion Of Broken Wheel Ranch
Hi Kerri,Goodreads just deleted my long answer.
There are several authors who wrote 11 Fury books.
The first one was written by Albert G. Miller, vol. 2 by Teddy Parker, vol. 3. by Albert G. Miller, vol. 4 was called "Fury and the Lone Pine Mystery" by William Fenton.
I have all 11 volumes in German (some have a masthead, others don't).
Please send me a private message if you want the rest. In this thread it's just too difficult to do.
Cheers,
Chrissie

I think it's Sandy who originally asked the question.

Thanks Chrissie, but it's an Australian series. 💖📚

Mary Grant Bruce? Some of the Billabong series had boy leads, I think.
Okay, Aussie Readers, here's a challenge for you...I need a book set in Victoria (Australia) and a book whose title or author's name begins with "N" to complete challenges this month. If I can satisfy both with the same book, that would be brilliant, as I'm a little snowed under at the moment with library holds coming thick and fast. I'd prefer crime/mystery/thriller if possible.
Thanks v. much!
Okay Sarah - I've been searching through my lists and have found one. It's not crime, but a classic (which I loved) Norah of Billabong by Mary Grant Bruce set in the bush of Victoria and Melbourne (where the kids went to boarding school)
I'll keep looking...
I'll keep looking...
Brenda wrote: "Here's one with all you want!! The Nowhere Child by Christian White :)"Thanks Brenda! I've already read The Nowhere Child, and am not a huge fan of snakes, but Mary Grant Bruce might be just what I'm after!
I was also thinking Deadly Falls by Phillipa Nefri Clark, as I've read the first in that series. Not sure whether I can count her as an "N" author, though...
Haha, no Phillipa is a P or C author 😊 I've read a few of Mary Grant Bruce's books and enjoyed them all.
I haven't read it yet but Robbi Neal's new book With Winter Comes Darkness (May 2024) is set in Ballarat. Historical mystery.

Brenda, I'm thinking I'll also read Norah of Billabong for the children's book prompt in Aussie Readers' Calendar Challenge. Luckily both are available through Libraries Tasmania!
