I don't even know how it started! I just decided the Laptop should be named Larry and everything should sound like it!

I need to name both of mine, but I have no idea! I'm not a creative person. I'm always sending my son to get my "red Kindle" or my "purple Kindle" so I should probably do something boring like that... but well, that's kinda boring!

My Kindle names are completely bland and mostly because of all the people and devices on my account.

In the beginning, there was Krista's iPhone.

Then I bought a Kindle 2 for myself and for my dad...Krista's Kindle and Mike's Kindle. My mom got an iPhone 4 so Sally's iPhone was added.

Then the Kindle 3 was announced and I decided I would get a new one for myself and my son. So Krista's Kindle 3 and Logan's Kindle was born. When the Kindle 3 arrived, Krista's Kindle became Sally's Kindle because I gave it to my mom.

My niece got a Kindle Wi-fi for her birthday. I got an iPad for my birthday last September and my dad got one for Christmas, so Abby's Kindle, Krista's iPad and Mike's iPad were added.

My son got an iPod Touch for his birthday and decided he liked to read on it, so Logan's iPod Touch was born . My mom decided to pass her Kindle 2 to my grandma and she took my son's Kindle 3. So Logan's Kindle became Sally's New Kindle and Sally's Kindle became Bonnie's Kindle.

My brother got an iPhone, so Ben's iPhone was born.

I also now have Krista's Kindle for PC and Krista's Cloud Reader. Yesterday I ordered Krista's Kindle Fire and Krista's Kindle Touch. Krista's Kindle 3 will become Logan's New Kindle and Krista's iPad will become Ben's iPad.

The Amazon account is in my name and I do all of the buying/borrowing and transferring and the only one on the account that knows how to manage it. So when people asked about their Kindle's name, I said NO YOU CAN'T CHANGE IT! Because I'd NEVER keep them sorted out in my brain otherwise.
So when I go to order a book on my account I have to select among:
Abby's Kindle
Bonnie's Kindle
Krista's Kindle 3
Krista's Kindle Touch (on order)
Mike's Kindle
Sally's New Kindle
Ben's iPhone

Good grief! I have trouble dealing with Betsy's Kindle 1, Betsy's Android, and Betsy's Kindle 3. Keep accidentally sending things to the old Kindle.

I love my K3 which is just now a year old so don't plan on changing for now and bought an iPad last year (impulse buy) so will curb the desire for the Kindle Fire since I don't use the iPad much.

Try renaming the Kindle 1 to "Old Kindle"? So it stands out and doesn't start with "Betsy's". Just my suggestion.

I actually put a . in from of my Kindle 3 to force it to be at the top since I buy 2-3x as much for myself than for others. You could do that too - put a symbol in front of "Betsy's Kindle 3" and then it will be at the top when you click Buy rather than having to pull the menu down and change it.

I think I finally decided on a name for mine. Miss Infinity.....because my books on it goes on, and on, and on and on....you get the picture!

Ginger, I like it! Krista, do/will you read on all your kindles/tablets? I couldn't cope. My original (damaged 10days ago) kindle has been deregistered. I've received 2 replacements as number 1 didn;t work. When I had a book that I'd pre-ordered yeasterday it gave me the option of Helen's kindle 2 or 3. I will name 3 as soon as I'm sure it will work!

I have six family members on my account so I actually only have one Kindle I use personally. I rarely read anything on my iPad or iPhone, I use them for other things but I like having the option to read if I want to. The Kindle Touch will replace my Kindle 3 and the Fire will replace my iPad. I will most likely use the Fire for everything OTHER than reading books that I use the iPad for now.

okay, off thread question. I've been tempted by iPad and now Fire(assuming the UK get it at some point), I use my notebook for surfing the net and my planning for school - on Office, word. Would I be able to do that on the tablets?

I have the IPAD and I love it, but I'm tempted to try the FIRE. Here's the 1 problem I have with the IPAD there is no flash player! That makes it difficult when looking at some sites. The only other question I have is is the FIRE printer compatible? That would be another sure fire reason to move to the FIRE over the IPAD!

I saw the password option in the set up but didn't want to deal with entering it every time I picked it up. I may password protect it when I go on a trip. Don't know.
