Kat wrote: A small smile played on his lips at her comment. "Just..." A small sigh escaped his parted lips, breath warm and hinted of summer berries from earlier that day. Her eyes caught his, and he almost took back in the breath that had just left him from the brilliant blue looking at him.
Finishing his sentence after a moment, he spoke slowly. "Just you're so innocent. I feel like I'm tricking you, masking myself as the prey, rather the predator." He finished, quiet and shameful.
A ruddy blush darkened Petra's pale skin and she glanced sharply down. It was a wonder how she could have been so scared of a horse and yet stare down into the crashing waves of the lapis-lazuli ocean without a flinch.
"I'm not as innocent as I may seem to you," Petra said very quietly, her voice a tiny thing in the open. "And what is it that you seek to hunt me down for, Devon? You would have done so already. You said yourself you feel calmer."
Finally she lifted huge eyes to him and allowed herself to study the swirls and whirls of silver in the stone-like blue.

((Immington!))
Devon watched her, his eyes not leaving her face even when she looked away. His usual stone-chisled face was soft and relaxed. He rolled the sole of his shoe over a misshapen spherical rock, his fingers twitching against the sun-baked rock.
He opened his mouth to speak, taking in a small breath. Scratching out his words he was going to say, he substituted them with a simple phrase. "I do." Quietly and slightly confused, Devon narrowed her eyes. His brow furrowed, suddenly confused at himself.

"So there's nothing to worry about," Petra said simply.
And just like that their gazes locked together, two sets of extraordinarily different blue eyes searching deep within one another. Behind Petra's gaze there was a soft patient sort of understanding.
"Trust me," she whispered, without knowing what compelled her to say it.

Devon's breath froze in his throat, waves of emotions crashing onto his bay of thoughts violently. (Metaphor!) Despite the buzz of rushing thoughts, a beehive of confusion one thought was prominent among the others, a sliver of sunlight in the dark despair. She understands.
He nodded slowly, his stomach lurching as he realized he was holding his breath.
"I do." He repeated, almost too quiet for anyone to hear. Though it wasn't confused anymore, more awestruck.

[I like 'a sliver of sunlight in the dark despair' ;)]
Suddenly Petra was aware of the proximity-- his face mere inches above hers-- and Petra blushed again, a slow reddening pink of her cheeks that made her duck her head again and hide under a curtain of copper silk.
"Good," she whispered out in a breath of silent air.

Instinctively, Devon reached out to brush the firey copper from her porcelain face but halfway through the motion he stopped. A mirror of her own blush on his cheeks. He nodded with her words, It is good.. His eyes never left her, a glint of admirability in them. Staring at her, the warm blush on his cheeks he thought to himself, shunning him for his idiodicy.

The very thing that Devon had been reaching out for concealed this tender yet uncompleted act. Petra shivered again then winced as she realized what she was doing, unconsciously drawing in on herself and a bit away from Devon. Not because she was scared of him-- but what he was doing to her.

((At first it sounded like rape. JUST SAYIN :P))
Devon retracted blinking hard, slightly confused. "I'm sorry." He whispered, his brow furrowing as he swallowed. He looked at her worriedly, wondering if she hated him. "That was.." He shifted on the rock awkwardly as he glanced at her. "Uncalled for." He finished quietly.

[LOL OMG NO]
Whipping her face back to face him and wondering in desperation if he'd somehow found a way to tune into her thoughts, Petra chewed worriedly on her bottom lip before stopping the nervous habit. Braving the fear, she dared ask, "What was uncalled for, exactly?"

(Lol it was just a thought!)
Devon brushed away the curtain from his eyes once more, opening his mouth to respond. A few moments were spaced out in between his breath as he hesitated before speaking. He looked at her, speaking quietly. "I tried to brush your hair from your face." He explained.

She couldn't help it-- that daintily cut mouth parted in surprise and a shocked giggle burst out richly from her. Just like that she established her acceptance of Devon-- just like that her blue eyes charmed and twinkled at him-- just like that she smiled.
"So?"
"So?"
Surprised at her giggle, Devon blinked a few times. He let out a breath of amusement, and shook his head to clear his thought and smiled a slightly confused smile. But it wasn't a bad confusion, it was a happy confusion. A relief tht she wasn't mad at him.
"Well, I, Um," He fiteged around nervously, not really what to say.

Sonic eyed the pegasus and shrilled a hoot. What do you think you are? A horse or a chicken?
Dustin shook his head and patted Sonic."
Anastasia let out a huge sigh and climbed down skilfully. “That’s why we have Stables, yes?” she said with a roll of her huge brown eyes. “I don’t actually have, have one, Romeo is just mine, but he stays in the Stables. Remember?”
She couldn’t believe how little her boyfriend actually knew about her. It was the first time that they had met since the end of last summer. Things change, she told herself. People and personalities change over the course of a year. Remember—a year is a long time.

Anastasia looked at Dustin, an air of alarm in her face. "You forgot about your pegasus?!" she screached. "How could you? You do know, right, that you're supposed to be the one feeding her, and grooming her?!"

"Perhaps," Anastasia admited. "But I asked one of the Aphrodite campers to take care of her for me.
And the fact that you were here during the year means that you should have taken care of her! Not depend on someone else to do your work for you."

"Because I was gone! Why didn't you just say that?" she sighed angrily. "Whatever," she decided at the end. "Let's go get Whisp."

"You're so coherent," Petra said in teasing admiration, brushing her hair away from her face herself. She glanced at him and her smile faltered as their eyes connected, shifting her gaze a little so she focussed on the sea.
Because she would not-- could not-- give in to that edging of possibility. No.

Devon nervously chuckled, feeling his cheeks redden slightly. Mirroring her movement, he brushed his bangs (for the third time) out of his eyes. Scolding himself in his thoughts for being a 'bumbling dipthong', he smiled a bit embarassed at her, following her gaze to the sea.
Anastasia felt her anger raise up to her face. Sweetie? She didn't say anything, but she kicked the heels of her pegasus. The majestic beastic rose to its full height and the wins on either side of her began beating.

Sonic appeared instantly from the trees and hooted.
Dustin smiled. "Come then, boy."
Sonic dipped forward and landed on his shoulder.
"Are you coming, or not?" Anastasia demanded, hovering above him. She offered an arm. "So?"

Anastasia rolled her eyes. "Grab on tight, then." She pressed the heels of her gray mare. Storm began beating his strong wings.
A couple of moments later, they were directly in front of the stables.
A couple of moments later, they were directly in front of the stables.

Why do I have to be here? Why can't I just live a normal life like a normal person instead of being a half-blood?

Dustin patted Whisp, his pegasus, and climbed off the mare.
Anastasia smirked as she slid off Storm. "Well," she said, pausing. "Wasn't that refreshing." Storm shook her head, her mane nearly hitting the girl. Anastasia put her hand on her head. "Calm down, girl. I'll get you an apple afterwards."

Whisp nimbled at it and took it into her mouth before crunching it.
He handed one to Anastasia. "You want to give one to Storm?"
Anastasia smiled a thanks. "Sure. Thanks, Dust."
Anastasia took it and fed it to Storm. "Doesn't that taste good?" she asked with a smile. The mare licked her hand, satisfied.

Whisp snorted in contentment and shook out her mane. The mare whinnied, eager to get a move on.
He looked at his girlfriend. "Where too?"
Anastasia shrugged. "I'm not sure. Maybe we can float over the forest, look for something to fight?"
Anastasia nodded. "Then, we camped out in the forest. Awesome!"
"Wanna try it out again?" she asked him slyly.
