((>.> CRUDMONKERYS. ~edit~))

Struggling to get out of her sad, childish thoughts, she thought of something happier. The look on Amber's face when she promised to pierce her ears was happy, though the results were far from happy.
The earthy smell of pegasus, coupled with the warm breeze, lazily turning the leaves of trees, usually made Caspar calm when he was angry. But it wasn’t working now. This wasn’t just one of his hot-tempered phases: it was a slow, pondering sort of anger. He was angry at everybody. Diona, Rose, his father, himself.
Family issues... never get old. Olympus should have warned me about that. He chuckled mirthlessly. The grin without laughter seemed odd on his face, the usually sparkling green eyes distant and clouded.
He’d leave. Maybe get a place with Carter in the city, get a job. Start the real life, live in the real world.
Dismounting, Caspar passed a hand tiredly over his features, closing his eyes at the lookout view—stunning azure seas and barely clouded skies, a golden sun reigning king over it all—and sighed deeply.

"I'm warning you, I'm not in a good mood," Caspar let out with an exhale, opening his eyes and turning around to the sound of footsteps.
Rose.
Green eyes glared daggers again, though nowhere as vicious as they'd been when the anger was still fresh in his mind in the Dionysus cabin. He spoke to her in a sharp, flat tone.
"You can move back in the cabin. Hell, take my place as counselor. I'm resigning."
Rose.

She simply stared, looking rather retarded with her mouth ajar and wide eyes. She spoke to him in a breathy, small voice. "Caspar. You can't resign. We need you."
Somewhere in the back if her mind, a terrifying thought prodded it's way through all others. Could this be her fault? Why not? Every other screw up in her life was, why not this?
"No one needs me. I try helping, I try being a good brother and a counselor, and I fail miserably each time. Look where I got you, look where I got Diona. No, Rose."
Shrugging, Caspar turned back to the sea. It felt good. Letting all these words out.
"And don't you go moping around that it's your fault. This has nothing to do with any of you-- I'm twenty years old, for crying out loud, I should be out of camp doing something with my life. That quest was the best time of my life. I don't want camp to become a prison for me like it is for Dad."

"Caspar, you have no idea how loved and respected you are by everyone in this camp. Of course we need you! I sure as hell ain't responsible enough to take your place!" She paused, choosing her next words carefully. It was about time someone insulted her on her childish acts, why not herself? "You couldn't do much for Diona, Caspar. She watched her mother die. What can you do to fix that? As for where you got me, who was the one who helped me through almost everything that happened last year? You did. You helped me, fed me the truth. It's not your fault I'm just too stubborn to listen."
She sighed, taking another step toward him. "Caspar, you're the venter of our sibling's universe. Without you, we're going to fall apart. You're the only thing keeping us together."
"Wrong."
Caspar didn't bat an eye at the arguments; they were to be expected. You should of thought of that a year ago.
"I'm doing nothing to keep you together. Diona doesn't care that I care about, she doesn't listen to whatever I say. You don't listen to whatever I say. You're falling apart no matter what I do."

Why was it that his words were always true? She'd hadn't listen that last year, not at all.
"We may be falling apart now, but just think of what it'll be like without you here. If we're going insane now, one of these days, Amber is going to pick up a knife and go on a killing-spree." She knew she was being dramatic, but anything to make him stay.

[:/ Sorry, I made it seem like Caspar already knew... It would make more sense if he knew already. Something like that-- especially about Diona-- can't really be kept quiet.

"You're going to have to learn to live without me, then," Caspar said with a shrug, unable to resist the following bitter statement:
"Like you did last year. Not like anyone paid much attention to what I had to say, anyway."
Let's not listen to the crazy Dionysus kid-- he can't ever be serious...

((Lol kaaayyyyy, I just imagine that scene where she told him what 'happend' was very emotional with tears from Diona))
Rose's rather fail attempt at a sarcastic reply brought an eyeroll from Caspar, not showing the waves of nostalgia that it brought with it as well. She'd never been good at sarcasm.
"There's really not much point in listening if you don't take into account what I say, now, is there,” he said in his dry tone, eyes never breaking from their fixed stare of the ocean. “Rose, please don’t try to argue. Just accept it for once. Obey me once. It’s the last thing I’ll ask of you.”

"I'll get them removed," she whispered quietly. Maybe reason would work. Didn't reason always work?
((Heheh, if that was Diona her reaction would be like 'o.o, I haven't obeyed you before why start now?'))
"Get what removed?" Caspar asked, confusion plain as he turned to stare at her incredulously.
O gods, you cannot be serious. The tattoos?!
"The tattoos? Gods, Rose, can you please understand that for one moment, this isn't about you and some stupid tattoo. It's about all of us. All of us in that f/cked up cabin of ours. I love you guys, I really do, but it wasn't enough to change any of your ways. I'm honestly too weary to try any harder. I'm leaving."

"If you love me that much, let me go. I want to leave in peace-- after a year of godsdamned torture, you're not even giving me that one final wish. I've tried so hard not to be selfish, Rose. It hasn't worked. It's always been about you, about Diona, about Amber."
Unthinkingly he copied Rose, though his angry hand made the dark locks stand on end so he looked as if he'd been electrocuted by Deon again.

((PAHHAHAHAH! All about Diona, Amber, and Rose? He went on a freaking quest. He wouldn't even know if they were being selfish, and Diona was freaking out about him the whole time.))
[:/ Kat, seriously... step into his shoes for a moment. You're way too attached to Diona to see any other light of the relationship. He went on a quest after nineteeen years of being cooped up in camp. He loved that outside world, and he came back for the people he loved, which included Diona. And when he came back... :/ *sigh*]
After a moment, Caspar reluctantly enveloped Rose in a bear hug. "Aw, c'mere," he said gruffly, blinking away the sudden wetness in his eyes, rendering them piercingly bright as always.
"I'll miss you guys."

((When he came back Diona was estatic...I'm not aruging I'm just not sure what you're getting at))

"We'll miss you more. Have fun, don't forget to write," she rambled off, sounding like her mother when she was dropped off at camp every summer.
"I'll visit, don't worry," Caspar said, breaking away and regarding Rose with the tender expression only an older brother could have. "Now to say goodbye to the others." His expression darkened at the thought.

"Thanks, Rose-- it would be a great help if you were the buffer in this. Since you get what I mean."
He raised his eyes to hers in a silent plea-- make them understand. For me.

Blinking a few times, Caspar shook his head. He swallowed. "Not now," he panicked, stepping away from Rose's grip. "Not now. I'll leave in a week or so and I'll tell them then."

Devon dangled his legs over the edge, looking down at the bottom of the cliff. He pondered how much Time it would take to reach the bottom
if he jumped.
if he jumped.
Wingbeats pounded through the air, powerful wingbeats, cool winds rushing up from beyond the edge and swerving just in time.
The winged creature was a beautiful, dove-grey mare with liquid black eyes, the rider a slight, tousle-haired blonde girl wihth ivory skin. Together they seemed to meld, fuse, become one in their flight.
Aureline's eyes masked the shadow of her despair and panic-- it showed for a moment as she caught sight of Devon, eyes becoming those old windows to her soul, but merely for a split-second.
Sensing this temporary weakness, Aureline hid behind her hair and dismounted, regaining control of her emotions before turning to Devon. If she could smile she would have, albeit a little halfheartedly.
"Hullo."

Devon didn't need to turn, and he didn't. The sun pounded on his back, and a small breath escaped his lips as a reply. He kept his face looking down, preparing himself for.. Anything.
Through the hidden turmoil of her eyes, concern showed there. Aureline's ivory brow furrowed and she left Brisa in the middle of the trail to join Devon, sticking her legs out from the side of the jutting cliff, surveying the sparkling sea. A cool comforting breeze wrapped around them, protected them from the sun.
Though seeming completely calm, he was stuck in a pandamonium of options. Jumping now seemed more of a benediction than a choice. The smoke in his eyes turned to storm, and his face turned dark. "Why?" He asked bluntly.
The calm marble facade of Aureline's face turned to look at Devon, her lips in an inquiring quirk.
"Why what, Devon?"
"Why what, Devon?"
"Why'd you want me to come back?" He replied, turning to look at her. But he looked away in a split second, shaking his head.
O gods. Not now. Not when...
But a year of loving Devon had not been for nothing, and the insecurity demonstrated by him made her reach out in silent pity.
"I care about what happens to you, Devon," Aureline repied eventually, wording her reply carefully.

"If you care about me let me go." He muttered angrily. Devon chucked a rock straight into the water below, sighing in frustration.
"Devon, we've been through this already," Aureline replied with uncustomary patience.
The wind brough the rock back up, tossed it in Devon's lap, and Aureline gaev him a very long and searching look.
"You need to learn to love yourself before you can love anyone else."

"Why should anyone love this?!" He demanded angrily, chucking the rock back into the water. "Wanna know what I did yesterday? I made a little girl cry and walked away!" He exclaimed. "I wish you would've just let me die so you and everyone else could pretend I never existed, you'd be much better off." He muttered, staring at his open palms.
With a final insistent time the rock flew back up and pelted into the trees of the forest behind them.
Wind had gone icy, wind had gotten downright freezing. Aureline's jaw was clenched tight and her hand shot out to grab Devon painfully on the arm.
"You. You can stop yourself easily from hurting. You didn't hurt when we were together. You've never hurt me but you're hurting me now and you're hurting yourself, and it's all because you refuse to see that I was in love with you, I did care-- I do care!
You can change yourself but you refuse not to."

"Don't touch me." The words came out like gravel was stuck in his throat, and his shoulder heaved up and down. His fingers dug into the ground at his sides, the tips pressing into the edge. For a moment he was absoloutelt still, except for closing his eyes.
