Finished my book for Shifters.Night Myst ★★☆☆☆ 11/22/10
I read Galenorn's Witchling a few years ago & barely finished it, it was so bad. But I figured, hey, I'll give her another chance. Now I realize that this author is just not for me, since Night Myst sucketh the ass as well. Cicely was one of those UF heroines who spend too much time angsting & lusting & not doing what their supposed to do: kick ass & take names. I felt a constant urge to smack her upside the head throughout this book. I'd hoped the secondary characters would relieve the anger I felt towards Cicely, but damn if I wasn't foiled again. They were flat & two-dimensional & deserved everything they got IMO, because they were so TSTL. Ah well. At least I got this book off of my TBR shelf.
Sorry it wasn't very good :( .. Some authors are that way for me too- haha "sucketh the ass" I love it! ;)
Thanks, Angi. =) Like I said, every sucky book I read has a pot of Trix at the end of the rainbow: thinning out my TBR shelf.
Lethal I'm with you. I've read the 1st 4 bks in the Witchling series only because I needed a Y author/book & they were convenient. But I've sworn off the rest of her books also. Just can't handle another one. LOL.
Drats! I bought that one too, in hopes that it'd be better than the other, which I couldn't even finish (book 1). Ugh! Oh well, down, down she goes to the bottom of the list. LOL!

Umm...maybe I won't bother reading this one. I had the same problems with Witchling too. I got my copy from PBS; maybe it meant something that the book looks new:-)
I finished my book, How To Marry a Millionaire Vampire for the supernatural romance shelf a few days ago. At first glance, the title and description of this book make it sound a little cheesy but I found it be a fun, light-hearted read. It started out slow but picked up by about halfway through. The humor kept it entertaining and had me laughing out loud several times. I enjoyed the combination of assorted characters with the focus on Roman and Shanna. I'm looking forward to finding out what happens next for them.4★
Glad you liked it Amanda. This is another of my fun read series, sometimes dark & heavy just doesn't do it and you need some light relief. This is a well written series that delivers that light relief.
I've been in the forest for the past week and it was nice, except the fact that there was no connection out there so no Goodreads. :( But I'm back and I shall be reading Black Silk by Jan Gordon.
*Lethal sighs* I'm currently waiting on Enchanting the Lady or Sisters Red from the library. They're "in transit", which could mean anything given how chaotic our libraries have been since the massive budget cuts.Just wanted to let you all know I haven't forgotten about you & the challenge. I'm just stuck playing the waiting game right now.
Steph wrote: "Welcome back in from the woods, Aske. :) Hope you had a good time."Thanks! It was real nice to spend some time in absolute peace with the exception of a few family members who didn't know the meaning of 'sleep.'
Finished Black Silk by Jan Gordon and I found myself thinking "If only it would happen to me" throughout the book. Vic's story is simple and straightforward. Nothing that was complicated or outbursts of hysteria that you might find in some books when the female character would breakdown when finding out her lover's secret. Overall I enjoyed this book.
LOL Aske! That song (not sure of title or group), "Back to life, back to reality...." popped in my head. :)Also, is Black Silk your 'sup-rom' read? If so, could you please pop a read date and rating on there? Thanks. I don't think I'd heard of that one, I'll have to check it out.
I just noticed I did not put a date finished for How to Marry a Millionaire Vampire. I finished it on 11/24. Sorry!
I'm here all! Please bare with me as we are in transit... from Europe to the States visiting for Christmas, so I'm not able to read AS much as usual, but I am still reading. We are taking a plane ride without kids, so I'll be able to read A LOT more and finish my book, at least that's the plan! :)
FYI Team: I'll update Angi (via email) re: our new shelf (coming soon!), so she is aware. I've offered to post any updates for her as well.
How sweet of you to do that for Angi, Steph! You're my shero! My books on hold finally came in from the library, thank baby Jesus. Better late than never, right? I'm going to read Sisters Red for Supernatural Romance.
Will do! *Lethal salutes* I've heard some very....interesting things about this novel. Thank God for the library.
Another early announcement ... Just 'cuz!
OUR NEXT SHELF IS ..... 'urban-dark-fantasy'

Happy Reading, Everyone!!
I'm changing my Supernatural Romance pick to Enchanting the Lady & putting Sisters Red in Urban Dark Fantasy instead. I've been in limbo lately but hopefully I'll get both books read by next Saturday. *crosses fingers*
Finished my book for Supernatural Romance.Enchanting the Lady ★★★☆☆ 12/6/10
I started this novel knowing it would be sweet enough to make my teeth hurt. I mean, c'mon? It involves hella magic & a damn were-lion in 1882 London. And castles. Castles definitely mean cheese. Unless they're Highland castles, which means kidnapping & haggis. Anyway, I liked EtL despite feeling the urge to watch Cheaters-love you, Joey Greco!- to fondly remind myself that there are mean people in the world. You'd think Felicity-our heroine-would be so TSTL, you want to drown her in applesauce. But she only had a few TSTL moments & actually helped save the day. And

Happy Reading, Bingo Bookworms!
Thanks Steph! Finished "Friday Night Bites". I enjoyed thus one a lot and it leaves a lot more to find out about. I also found it s bit darker than the first. What I missed most in this book from the first was the sarcasm and witty bantor- I didn't see it nearly ad much this time and that's one if the aspects I loved most in the first one. Regardless, this is a very interesting series that I look forward to reading more about. I give this book 4 stars :)
Steph, I was wondering why our "Supernatural Romance" shelf wasn't received. IIRC, only 4 out of 5 team members need to start/finish/review a shelf for it to be received & my rating & review of Enchanting the Lady was #4. Maybe I'm missing something...

Nope, Lethal, you are absolutely right. I think I got mixed up with the changes and didn't realize your review for "Enchanting..." gave ya'll the needed 4 for the stamp. Thanks for the catch! I'm fixin' ya'll up right now. :)
CONGRATULATIONS, Bingo Bookworms! You now have an updated BINGO card with a stamp on 'supernatural-romance'.
Sorry for the delay!
