Hi, I've done the challenge in the past but have not participated since last summer. I'd like to do it again, but I'm not sure if the username I had is still on the board for me- I was Rebecca MA last summer...is that active for someone else now? THanks so much!

As far as I can tell, the Rebecca MA we have on the list is you ;o). So you can jump in using that as your Readerboard name - just remember to put it at the top of your completed task posts as we have other Rebeccas in the challenge. Happy reading!

It would. Having the same GR name and RB name is much easier on the person keeping track of points (and prevents mistakes that take time to track down) ;o).

Welcome to the challenge, Tineke! Everyone gets excited when the new tasks start appearing - it's a lot of fun to start planning your reading for the next challenge.

Please keep in mind the rule on pre-reading:

10. Pre-reading: Books longer than 499 pages that were started before the beginning of a challenge can be used to fulfill a task if more than half the book is read during the challenge.
For example, if you were to read 249 pages (or less) of a 500 page book before the start of a challenge, this book would count if it met a task requirement. However, if you had read 250 pages (or more) of a 500 page book before the start of a challenge, this book would not count. Books less than 500 pages should NOT be begun before the start of a challenge.

Hi, Christie. No, sorry, we try not to have the same "basic" name, like Christine (other than our grandfathered in players who have been here since the beginning ;o)). The reason being that Christine US's (and other Christines who may join the challenge in the future) GRs name (the one the moderators see in the bar above your post) may also says Christine and it makes it difficult for the moderators to sort when they are trying to keep up with hundreds of players.

In your case, the easiest thing to do is to make your Readerboard name CHRISTIE GUATEMALA. For now, that's what I'll add to the Readerboard. Let me know if you desperately want something different. When you post your completed tasks in the completed task thread, just put CHRISTIE GUATEMALA at the top of your posts so we know who to give points to. Happy reading and enjoy the challenge!
