John Dizon | 11 comments Check out my new novel The Kingdom at Amazon!!!

The Kingdom is a historical novel based on the exploits of German commando Carl Hansen, whose Das Reich Division is recalled from the frozen wastelands of Western Russia to thwart the Allied invasion forces in 1944 Normandy. His love affair with his college sweetheart, French heiress Angelique Dagineau, becomes his reason to survive the cataclysmic battle ahead as the French Resistance rises across Southern France in a stalwart effort to block the Division from joining the fray. The tangled web of intrigue between the corrupt Vichy government forces, the Parisian criminal network and the Communist insurgents combine to add to the dangers facing Carl in completing his mission and returning to Angie at last. His situation grows more compromised as he receives word that Angie is missing and might be the target of a massive Gestapo manhunt for Underground operatives. This is a tale of romance and intrigue interwoven within an incomparable episode of 20th century history.

Welcome to Hemingway House, a halfway home for residents under repair. My name is Richard Raymonds. I'm one such resident. In 1975, I was admitted here after spending five years in a much worse place. For the next nine years, I passed the time taking notes on the comings and goings of the myriad of characters that passed through. This is their story.

Applause!

John (jaymack) | 10 comments Hello, my name is John McDonnell. I have self-published more than a dozen ebooks, and my latest work is a series called "Rose Of Skibbereen". It's based on some of my family history, and is about an Irish woman who comes to America in 1880 and the twists and turns her life takes after that. It's a historical romance, but really, it's mostly about the characters. I have a love of creating characters, and this series follows multiple characters through the years.

Hezbollah:

Tina Rivera is a legendary percussionist who is secretly fighting a losing battle with muscular dystrophy. Zeke Cohen, her longtime lover, is as violently opposed to her participation in the Crusader Concert Reunion as he was to the original concert two decades ago. She is torn between giving their relationship one last chance, and rejoining her friends for a last payday that all but she desperately needs. Most of her flashbacks focus on the early days as an iconic hardcore band before they were discovered after the breakup of the group. Her bittersweet memories fuel her undying loyalty as she defies the odds despite her terminal illness.

ASH: RETURN OF THE BEAST - Review by Drake Morgan, HorrorNovelReviews.com

"There have been countless novels over the decades that somehow include, reference, or are about Aleister Crowley. His dark legacy has fueled fiction and non-fiction alike, much of it retreads the same old ground. Satan; that “book”; evil magic; and so on, have become tired tropes. Gary Val Tenuta’s latest work, Ash: Return of the Beast steps into new territory with the Crowley/dark magic legend. Rather than simply focusing on a single aspect of Crowley’s legacy or Crowley himself, Tenuta creates a familial legacy.

"The story centers around a death-metal musician named Rodney Duckworth. He’s compelled by something he cannot explain to purchase a large, crumbling mansion. Within its dark walls, he discovers he’s the heir to a very evil bloodline. The dead bodies mount and Detective Kane is assigned to the case. He is paired with a detective who seems far more at home among the pentacles and gargoyles than he is and we slowly begin to see there is far more here than meets the eye. As he struggles against the forces of darkness, ancient secrets are revealed that bring the novel to a shocking conclusion. [...]

"For those readers interested in Crowley, dark magic, Satanism, and demons, Tenuta delivers. He avoids many of the cliché elements of Satanism narratives and gives us an action-packed story that moves along well."

ASH: RETURN OF THE BEAST is a modern-day supernatural crime chiller, a tale of revenge steeped in the occult. The story is a work of fiction inspired by a little known factoid about the death of Aleister Crowley (1875-1947), the notorious occultist whose favorite number was 666 and whom the British press once labeled as "The Wickedest Man In The World". Crowley’s body was cremated but the unexplained 1947 disappearance of the urn containing his ashes has remained a mystery… until now.

This diabolical tale propels the reader through a series of curiously interconnected events spanning the years from 1947 (and the death of Aleister Crowley) to the 1990s and the coming-of-age (and eventual stardom) of a "death-metal" rocker with the unlikely name of Rodney Duckworth.

The time-line shifts to the present day where Brian Kane, a gruff and gritty street-worn Seattle Police Detective, reluctantly teams up with the mysterious Rowena Ravenwood, an attractive and rather unconventional female FBI agent assigned to a most unusual investigative unit. Their task is to figure out why good, healthy, God-fearing preachers in their fair city are suddenly dropping dead... one at a time... exactly nine days apart.

What is the meaning of the strange symbols branded onto the bodies of these hapless victims? Are they all part of some bizarre cult? No eyewitnesses. No fingerprints. Is it really murder? Where’s the evidence? And what is the disturbing secret that Detective Kane is holding so close to his chest?

The investigation catapults Kane and Ravenwood headlong into life-threatening situations as they feel their way through the strange, dark labyrinth of the world of the occult and find themselves battling for their lives against the powerful forces of ritual magick.

A bloody carnage of unimaginable horror is about to be unleashed upon the world as the offspring of the fabled “Old Ones” are awakened from their ancient slumber.

The survival of the entire human race hangs in the balance and the clues to help solve the case are in desperately short supply. Worse yet, so is the amount of time left to stop the mysterious killer's reign of terror before all Hell breaks loose. And – according to Special Agent Ravenwood – that’s not just a figure of speech.

Books
By Aaron Boutilier

Classic books by famous men
Satisfy a secret yen;
These immortal words I find
Penetrate my hungry mind.
Romantic fables of the ages
Lure my heart into the pages,
Blending tales of fact and fiction,
Assuring me of my conviction.
Sweet poetry lifts up my soul
And carries out its' soothing role;
Among these books upon the shelf,
Someday, I hope to find myself.

David P Forsyth (daidpforsyth) | 16 comments Hot New Release! Sedulity (Book One) Impact
Amazon Best Sellers Rank: #710 Paid in Kindle Store
#1 in Books > Literature & Fiction > Genre Fiction > Sea Adventures
#7 in Books > Science Fiction & Fantasy > Science Fiction > Post-Apocalyptic
5.0 Star Average (twenty-one 5 Star & one 4 Star reviews).

From the author of "Voyage of the Dead" and the "Sovereign Spirit Saga" comes a whole new type of apocalypse. Inspired by "Lucifer's Hammer" and other epic science fiction novels, David Forsyth brings the fear, suspense and thrilling action of "end of the world as we know it" fiction into focus aboard a cruise ship en route to Australia when an asteroid strikes the Central Pacific Ocean. Whatever image that description evokes is nothing compared the epic forces of nature, human drama, and pain of loss you will encounter in this book.

Sample Review:
"From the Start of this book I felt as though I was a passenger on the cruise. I could smell the sea air, & hear the water as it hit the ship. This book has introduced me to new things I never knew about before like the "line crossing" ceremony. As I read the book I found some normal everyday people become extraordinary heroes. Impact is full of action, happiness, fear, love, selflessness towards themselves only to save those around them. I have to admit while reading this book at first I thought I want to go on another cruise then as I got more into the book I found myself thinking... nah I think I'll keep these big feet on the ground! But as usual David finds a way to show the BEST place to be in an event such as a meteor hit is in a ship. Heroes were made as the book went on! David has a great way of making you, the reader, feel as though YOU are a passenger on the ship & YOU are freaking out about drowning or burning alive. That shows true talent being able place your readers INSIDE the story! I can't wait for Book 2 & see what happens next!"

Sedulity: noun. Constant in purpose and intent, assiduous, steadfast, tireless, indefatigable.

These new stand alone Epic Fables can be experienced in several ways as any story can be read independently of the others, but reading the chapters forward in sequence tells the book’s full adventure while also connecting all three Elastic Limit volumes.

Yet, as Time is ephemeral, this book can also be read backward by starting with the last chapter and working forward as it’s the same account from either direction, which is entirely the whole point of the collective narratives concerning the mysterious Elastic Limit of Time.
