Oh my, a most interesting concept. In my book, The Evangeline Heresy, I have loosely based the character of Ana Lagori on the Lilith myth and Earth related goddess myths. I will look forward to reading your work.

I take it this is the right place to link to my book, Flux. It's selling quite well in the UK at the minute (on Kindle only a the minute) but getting sales in the US is proving tough.
Here's the blurb

Iain is looking forward to the weekend when a number nineteen bus shatters his body, but broken bones are the least of his worries.
In this disturbing yet darkly funny novel, Iain’s near death experience is not a vision of exquisite godliness with light at the end of a tunnel. Instead he experiences a place of darkness and heat, inhabited by foul creatures, the sounds of suffering and a beast.
During a long recovery Iain becomes plagued by nightmares and premonitions, shadowy apparitions, a magpie, and a vile old man. They all have a message, that something wants Iain and it won't give up easily.
Iain’s friends do their best to cheer him up in the best way they know how, until the unexpected events of one sunny afternoon mean that he is on his own, caught up in the age old battle of good versus evil. Flux
Thanks for reading
Mark

The House on Blackstone Moor.
Before I do that I want to mention the inspiration for it. I read that gothic romance was passe. I didn't buy that. I did research, went on message boards and realized there is still a big market for it.
Of course much of gothic romance consists of reprints of much-loved older books.
I found too that much of what's new in the genre is actually paranormal romance with some dark romance and romantic encounters.
My feelings were I wanted to write gothic romance in as pure a narrative as I could, but i intended to make the story far darker than such a story would have been years ago. In other words, my novel would not have been acceptable to readers/publishers of 'gothic romance' novels years ago.
My publisher, Vamplit has said about my novel: 'this is not paranormal romance with racy bit's this is real gothic horror as it would have been written centuries past.'
from the blurb:
'This is a tale of vampirism, madness, obsession and devil worship as Rose Baines, only survivor of her family’s carnage, tells her story.
Fragile, damaged by the tragedy, fate sends her to a desolate house on the haunted moors where demons dwell. The house and the moors have hideous secrets, yet there is love too; deep, abiding, eternal, but it comes with a price, her soul.
It is not predictable, btw.

The sequel came about due to demand and interest in the tale.
The sequel I am currently writing (for release in 2012), concerns a demon's confession he has written to the woman he loves. It is an accounting of all of his sins.
It is dark and goes much further than the original book.

While the story utilizes a feminine mythology, it does not rely solely on that attribute. I like to think of the book as a corridor of many doors, where the reader is invited to explore each possible opening.

The blurb: Summoned into her dying mother’s coma, recovering addict Eunice Ames must traverse a surreal, apocalyptic dreamscape in search of three generational spirits who have imprisoned her mother’s soul.

And the proof of this book has just arrived with me for Createspace Print on Demand at Amazon, so if you want to wait for the paper version, it shouldn't be long now!

Growing up in the Nebraska orphange Bobbi always knew some day she would search for the people who had abandoned her. What she found at the Amigo Inn was devastating. Two brothers at the inn fall in love with her as she searches to find her mother. Along the way she succeeds in making a name for herself and her horses, but also suffers a lot of heartache. Nobody would have thought the little redhead girl back in Nebraska would become a household name.

I'm going to do a bit of a double-plug if that's all right... :)
The first part in my sword & sorcery serial is up on Amazon. It's a novella so it's a fast, fun read with plenty of peril, banter and mead.

Or if steampunk is more your thing, my novella "A Hidden History of Stones; Or How the Sinking Jenny was Sunk" is in "Her Majesty's Mysterious Conveyance".
Her Majesty's Mysterious Conveyance
"Victoria’s England, Victoria’s London. It is a time of great change for the Capital. A time of industry and enterprise, sweat and smoke. But even as this century rushes to catch up with its own progress, a greater change is coming. Deep within the River Thames, something that has been asleep for hundreds of years is stirring. For the crew of the Sinking Jenny it is just another piece of salvage dredged up from the ancient mud, and not even a particularly valuable one at that, but the Stone holds the knowledge of Kings and Queens, the secrets of every man and woman, and the lies that all children keep in their hearts. For Captain Hardy, the mysterious Mr Rymer and their young apprentice Bill, the Stone is the beginning of a nightmare."

Hitting Back is the third book of The Dark Retribution Quartet. As in Book 1, Wrath and Remembrance, and Book 2, Comparing Scars, the title gives the reader a large clue as to one of the principal themes of the book, in this case getting even no matter what. Once again we are treated, through vivid description and authentic dialogue, to a rich and nuanced portrait of working class Newcastle upon Tyne in Northwest England. Although I’ve traveled rather extensively in the United Kingdom and been near Newcastle, I’ve never actually been to the city. Nevertheless, so good is the writing that, having read the three books, I feel like I know the city and its environs well. Like the protagonists of Books 1 and 2, Jack Parrish and Jake Callan (who make cameo but important appearances in Hitting Back) protagonist Lenny Durning is a rich, complex and interesting character. Unlike Parrish and Callan, Lenny is a vicious and thoroughly despicable criminal. Like Books 1 and 2, but more overtly, the story of Book 3 is about the fight between the forces of good and evil: this time for the soul of Lenny. This reader flinched at Lenny’s actions but had to keep turning the pages. The end of the book was reward enough and set me up for the climax of Book 4, a read to which I look forward.

I was checking Barnes and Noble the other day to see if 'Ice King' was listed on B&N, via Smashwords. I then found the review. Unfortunately I am unable to thank the reader as I have no idea how to contact Wordscourge

The best tale under sail.
A salty story of sailing ships and the turning of the slave trade out of Liverpool in the 1700s. Woodland has created a new hero to straddle the poop-deck next to Hornblower. True love, false love, a father and son at odds, a quest for an anti-slavery trade, and an evil and grasping pair of villains, also father and son, sets this big story fair and square in the cracking good tale category. The wind that lifts it further is Woodland's meticulous research and clear, evocative prose. The whole idea is so original and captivating I'll be looking out for the sequel.

Here is the blurb from the back cover:
Dave Penleigh belittled his wife Susan, until she could no longer tolerate the mental abuse. A Christian wife, unequally yoked with a non-Christian husband, the only unshakeable part of her existence is her deep faith in God, which sustains her despite the trials she faces.
Mysterious events arise to plague her, causing turmoil within her own family. "Good ol' boy" politics have her locked up. Finally, Susan obtains her divorce. Through prayer and strong faith, she is determined to be a survivor and rebuilds her life with gusto. Unusual events occur again with greater momentum. Is someone stalking her?
A new man enters the picture. What surprises are uncovered as she ties the loose ends together?
Scripture, prayer, and intrigue round out this Christian fiction/suspense novel.

I am busy writing the sequel, River Town, and will tell you the main character moves to another state. That is the only hint!

I am pleased to advise my next book, 'Paul & Sam' will be released next month.
Paul & Sam is a 33,500 word novella which I categorise as a gay romance murder mystery.
Several characters propel the plots, though the story is essentially about Paul and Sam during their mid to late teen years, confronting and overcoming a number of gay issues. The story is set in Sydney against a surfing background.
Story Description
Abandoned by his homophobic parents, 16-year-old Paul lived a frightened, friendless and near destitute life, surviving on odd jobs, welfare support and street cunning. His old surfboard provided his only source of enjoyment and occasional companionship from the fears and rigours of existence.
Saving an injured surfer from drowning the following year brought an unexpected benefit when found by a mature aged runner, abused, dejected and almost suicidal at a beach known for after-hours gay action. The runner, a compassionate family man, overcame Paul’s mistrust and suspicions, to offer aid and comfort at his home.
There Paul met Sam, the runner’s 18-year-old son, a boy with whom he had become infatuated distantly soon after the near-drowning incident. Paul discovered that the surfer he saved, Adam, is Sam’s cousin and best mate and that Sam and his family hero-worshiped him for saving Adam.
He learned about Sam’s grief driven suicidal tendencies following the death of his identical twin brother, Tim. He was astonished to learn the family had searched for him hoping he would consider living with them as a needed companion to Sam, to salve his emptiness and loss. He was further astonished to discover Sam was gay and idolised him.
He also learned the family did not accept the evidence submitted at Tim’s Coronial enquiry, nor the verdict of accidental death. They believed a cover-up occurred at police and higher levels, believing Tim had been abducted and murdered.
Paul admitted his long-held feelings for Sam. After quelling doubts in his mind, he accepted the family’s offer, and Sam’s pleas, to live with them.
Before his death, Tim also hero worshiped Paul. He now applied his psychic abilities to use Paul as his representative to achieve justice for his cousin, Adam, who had been callously run down by another surfboard rider and left to drown. Tim used his psychic communication powers existing with his twin brother, to lead Paul to identify Adam’s offender.
The process reveals a history of cowardice, dishonesty and corruption at family, judicial and police levels and their beliefs of privileged immunity from society’s norms.
Tim then applied his psychic cunning to assist Paul identify the perpetrators of his murder, leading to an emotionally charged court trial.
Paul & Sam has several subplots and twists, as had the true life stories on which many of the incidents of the story are loosely based.
The novella will be published in all email formats by eXtasy Books mid February. I’ll post an excerpt when editing is completed soon.
I hope you find the story's description interesting.
