The novel is based on my mum's life and takes place in Nazi Germany - it's the undertold story of an ordinary German Christian girl growing up under Hitler. Rebecca Forster described 'Take No More' as a 'modern noir'. Here is an extract:

Shameless self promotion here but for once it doesn't bother me - I really think this is the best book I've ever written. It's set in the greater Phoenix Valley in the year 2053. It's a mix of #sci-fi and a mystery / hard boiled detective story.

Here's the blurb:

Animals Don't Blush was one of the most enjoyable books that I have read! I read it it one sitting and could not put it down until I finished. The Author seems like a kind and witty man and he make you feel like you right there with him as he makes his Vet rounds and meets the people of Sidney, MT and environs circa 1960.
