Stuart Jaffe | 18 comments Hi all! Well, it's finally happened. I've had the short stories out for a bit, but here's the first novel:
The Way of the Black Beast (The Malja Chronicles) by Stuart Jaffe

It's a post-apocalyptic fantasy -- think Xena meets Mad Max. Check it out (especially because this little cover image doesn't do justice to the beautiful work Lynn Perkins did for me)! Enjoy!

I just released the first novel in my YA series, The Foxfire Chronicles, called Shadows of Past Memories. It's about two best friends trying to untangle their ugly pasts as they move towards their futures, all while one of them is being hunted by an otherworldly madman. It's mostly science fiction, but is has some fantasy, old-fashioned horror and romance aspects. Please check it out!

OhMiGosh! The cover is gorgeous! What is amazing is that surveys show a reader will only review a book on-line for 9 seconds before passing it by, or buying it...it ALL weighs on how much 'PoP!' one's cover has...Bravo! Good on You!

Vincent A. (goodreadscomvince_palazzo) | 10 comments I am expecting the release of my first novel, This Little Piggy Belongs to the Devil" in November. It's a thriller that takes an unforgiving view of revenge. It is a blunt, brutal, vulgar, irreverent, glib, off-the-cuff and occasionally comical first person exercise.

Steve Robinson (steverobinson) | 46 comments I'm new to the group and published my debut in June. It's called 'In the Blood (A genealogical crime mystery). It was the Goodreads UK Kindle Group read of the month during August and now has 49 reviews on Amazon UK with an average rating of 4.9 out of 5 stars.

Terron James (terron_james) Sick of the same ol' run of the mill fantasy? Try Insight, a "fantasy novel for people who hate fantasy novels." Less descriptions of the trees and more of high-tension, edge-of-the-seat plot that you love in your favorite movies.

Available in hardcover ($24.99), paperback ($14.99), and Kindle & Nook ($2.99).

Best!

Lexie Conyngham | 30 comments Hello,

I have two books out on Kindle, much to my own surprise as I'm nearly computer-illiterate! If you like traditional fair-play detection with a bit of humour, why not try them? At least they're cheap!

They're Scottish early nineteenth century crime novels, Death in a Scarlet Gown, set in St. Andrews, and Knowledge of Sins Past, set in a fishing village in Fife. The next in the series, which features Charles Murray of Letho, is due out by Christmas and is called Service of the Heir, set in Edinburgh. I work hard to research them but I hope it doesn't show too much!

Alan (plumboz) I'll keep it simple.

Boomerang

Product Description
Ted Hogwood's beloved Sarah, a jazz guitar, is in the window of Topp Dollar Pawn. The only way he can get the money to rescue her is to accept an assignment from the AABC, a not nearly official branch of the United States intelligence community. He is partnered with Jerry Kwiatkowski, master of the Hammond B-3 organ and chronic flatulence sufferer, to steal a boomerang containing secrets that should have died with J. Edgar Hoover over thirty years ago. It would be a simple job if only they knew what they were doing. And if a crossbow wielding assassin, two unemployed Australian women, The Director of Central Intelligence and a clothing optional former onion festival queen were not also hot on the boomerang's trail.

Thirty six reviews between Amazon US and UK so far. Twenty-five five star, eight four star and three three star.

A 3.62 average here at Goodreads.

My wife said it was "okay"

My kids don't let me mention it in front of their friends.

My minister bought three copies. My dentist just two. Might have something to do with frequency of visits, I don't know.

Alan

message 837: by Philip (new)

Philip Wulven (philwrite) | 7 comments Hello Masonites (or should that be Mason Groupies?)
Try my brand new novel 'Eland Dances'.
Peter Fitt uses a Soviet airplane in a development project, and the Russians use this opportunity to supply arms to both sides in the Rhodesia/Zimbabwe independence struggle. They intend to escalate the civil war so their cadres can climb into power. Shit rises to the top when stirred.
Pete instinctively dislikes the power-hungry men who see others as ego-food or enemies. In his family, with a memory of San beliefs, these are looked on as human predators, men possessed by lion spirits.
The eland opposes the selfish and destructive carnivores, the lions, and helps those who embrace the principle that the strong should defend others, not prey on them.
Healing power is found in dance, in trance, but courage, and love, are for each to find.
Available as an ebook from Amazon/kindle http://amzn.to/oMossa
or from smashwords http://www.smashwords.com/books/view/...

Bitten by the writing bug, and even more important, my grandchildren have told friends and classmates "My grandpa writes books."
Which results in suitably awed expressions & many status points, since reading is still a bit mysterious in their age-group.

Alan (plumboz) I know I mentioned some "review statistics" in my previous post, but the reviewer who really seemed to give the best overall view of Boomerang was Iain Manson on his The No-Hoper blog. Positive, yet constructive (I have addressed the issues he includes in his review) and most wonderfully, he understood the book and its author's intent. Iain's blog is usually interesting, sometimes funny and deserves more readers. If I might direct you to his review of Boomerang as a start.
