I like reading about mythology, magic, mermaids, and any subject matter with a touch of romance.

I live in Canada, am 13 (ALMOST 14!) and seriously can't wait to meet you guys.

Thanks for the welcome. The Secret Of The Emerald Sea references Roman mythology...it's about a teenage girl who discovers a shocking secret about her own parentage. In the novel, mermaids, gods, goddesses, crones, and humans all intermingle...with dramatic results. There's a touch of teen romance, lots of adventure...it's otherworldly :)

And hello to all people who have joined since my last post! (i don't wanna forget anyone so im doin' this. <:-) hahhaa)

I'm reading 10 books right now. I'm a very hopeless bookworm. And your profile About me is nothing compared to mine. I had to shorten mine 'cuz it exceeded 2000 characters.

@Allie How do you read 10 books at once? I'd probably get confused and mix up all the characters, plot lines, and such...

...So that's about three.

So yes, hello:).

Yep, I live in South Australia :)

Can someone split his personality with his own will?
And do you know anything about the Multiple Personality Disorder? Can you tell me what you know?
Thanks! :)

It is called Dissociative Identity Disorder now, not Multiple Personality Disorder. (One of the degrees I am working on now is in Psychology.) I highly recommend getting a copy of the DSM-IV TR and seeing what it says about DID and go from there.

Do you know why it changed?
MPD is the old term, which is why I wrote, "It is called Dissociative Identity Disorder now...."
It depends on who you talk to. If you talk to someone who is a practicing therapist, they may tell you that DID was a compromise because essentially the wording for its symptoms and MPD's symptoms in the DSM are the same. If you talk to someone who mostly does research in the field, their argument may be that "everyone is born with only one personality, so MPD cannot exist" for changing the wording of MPD to DID.
And of course when I wrote that post above yours on my phone, it cut out the part about if Kristine is not in the US her cultural view about the subject will be a bit different than those in the US because outside the US, MPD is still a very valid diagnosis and not the same as DID. That's one of the fun things about Psychology; it's heavily cultural in many places.

OK, that make sense, and I agree that it is very interesting how culture affects psychology and vice versa.
What kinds of pieces have you written so far, Halley?
