I finished Gone Country, Breann's pick for me and our buddy read. I liked it, thanks for the rec Breann! It was much better than the past few LJ Rough Riders for me. It was fun to revisit the bazillion McKays and Wests :)

Sounds good to me, ~KarenH~. we can totally do that. :)
I'm going to try to read Dragon Bound before we start Fix You
Hi NicoleI do have a kindle, but I already bought a copy of Unscripted. I should learn not to be impatient. Thanks for the offer though. I will let you know how I liked it. :)
Sassafrass wrote: "I'm going to try to read Dragon Bound before we start Fix You"Sassafrass, I really enjoyed the Elder Races series in audio!

I don't have the audio so I'm reading it.
Read my first pick of the month over the weekend -
. It was fun. I may not have loved the romance but I loved the heroine. She may not be the best mother ever but has my sense of humor.
Breann wrote: "Photojim wrote: "She may not be the best mother ever"MAY not be? Just may not? ;)"
I don't know... the kid's got toys, food, shelter, friends, and everything a four year old needs. He's doing better than a lot of kids.

I thought she was doing pretty good for herself, with a great support system around her. Sure, her mouth ran away with her and sure she had the frustrations of someone burdened with such responsibility at such an age, but she definitely loved her kid. :D
Sooooooo, I started
last night.I lasted 4 chapters. Which I thought was incredibly brave of me (if I do say so myself). I just couldn't handle the misspellings, bad grammar, and the unforgivable, unholy lack of comma usage. It was like nails on chalkboard for me.... Plus the heroine came off a heinous beeotch.
BUT, I have started
. Talk about hottie on a stick. Two chapters in and I'm already hooked. Definitely off to a great start so far.So, no worries, Katie, the balance of the world is still good. haha.
Ty wrote: "Sooooooo, I started

Uggh, I hate the editing issues. It's so frustrating for me and I can't enjoy a book when they are bad. I agree that it was incridibly brave of you to keep at for 4 chapters.
It's such a shame though because the book sounds good.

Lol! Good to hear, Ty! I haven't read either of those books, but I'm glad I know to avoid Exquisite now. :)
Ruth-Ann --I finished up Joey's First Time today. It was ok...kinda typical Carol Lynne. Honestly, I was more interested in the m/m/f couple than the m/m. Thanks for the pick!

Yeah, it's kinda scary when you think of all the published authors out there who need so much help on the editing end. Makes you wonder how many writers can actually... write...
Katie -
turned out great! Nice, action-packed, exhilarating story. I'm loving this series.
Arena I just finished the first of your picks for me. "Wicked ties" and I loved it ***** can wait to start the next book.
Yz - I think this is a record for me! I've just finished a third pick from your recs. Wes and Toren - 3.5 stars. I can't say I loved it, but I certainly enjoyed the time spent reading it. It was like reading a slice of life (a couple's life, from meet through to solid committment) - nothing earth-shattering etc, but a nice quiet read. Thanks for the push!
I finished one of my picks,
. I liked this one much better than the first three. There is more focus on Simon and other characters and less on Jace and Clary. Jace and Clary bore me!
Pollyanna wrote: "Hey Carla I finished The Fault in Our Stars last night and gave it 5 stars, such a lovely read. I really liked the characters and although I didn't cry I would definitely class it as a tearjerker. ..."Oh, I'm so glad that you liked it; I felt similarly--it was sad, but bittersweet in such a lovely way that I didn't feel the need to cry (much).
Karen HFinished second recommendation All He Ever Needed. Not my favorite of the series but a solid 3 *** read.
I finished my third pick this month - did I mention that Sassafrass did a great job?! She, ~KarenH~ and I did a buddy read of Fix You. I quite enjoyed it!
MountainKat wrote: "I finished my third pick this month - did I mention that Sassafrass did a great job?! She, ~KarenH~ and I did a buddy read of Fix You. I quite enjoyed it!"Oh Yay! MK!! I'm glad you've liked your picks. I was hoping that you enjoyed yours as much I enjoyed mine that you had done for me.
I'm on my way to start Fix You now. ~KarenH~ has given me a ton of good recs this month and I got sucked into Dragon Bound!
ok ~KarenH~Here's what I've read so far:
--so yummy! PUN definitely intended. LOL I'm really enjoying this series. Plus even better, I've got an ARC for the 3rd book in the series, so I'm going to be reading that soon. :)
--such a cute story. I love when unrequited love is finally realized. But it also has menage in it when makes the story even better. I know you said that you wanted to read this series, and I really think you should. Eve Langlais knows how to blend the erotic with the perfect amount of snark. I love laughing with my smexy books.
--OMG, what a great recommendation. I totally fell in love with Mick. You were so right, he was definitely a misunderstood bad boy. I was very surprised at how good (not to mention STEAMY) this was. I'm definitely going to continue with this series. Thanks again for this rec!
--Not sure how I feel about this one. While I thought the concept was hot, the execution didn't do it for me that much. I just couldn't related to heroine not knowing who she had in her bed. But it was super hot. So, as I saw I'm mixed on that one. But, you know, I'm still going to continue with that series.
--another rec that was right on! I loved this. How great was Pia at handling Dragos. Such a great series, I just fell into it. Thanks for the great rec. And even though I need another series like I need a hole in my head, I'm going to continue with this one. I won't be able to stay away!I'm still planning to read:
and I'm really going to try to get to:
Sassafrass wrote: "I'm on my way to start Fix You now. ~KarenH~ has given me a ton of good recs this month and I got sucked into Dragon Bound! "I just started Lord's Fall, the latest in the series, today. Great series!
And I loved my picks! I hope to get to one or two more depending on how quickly I get through a couple of other challenges.

Are you listening on audio? I know you said that the narrator was good. I was thinking about getting the next one on audio.
Sassafrass wrote: "Are you listening on audio? I know you said that the narrator was good. I was thinking about getting the next one on audio. ."I'm planning on it. I really enjoy this series in audio. I am having a hard time with audiobooks right now since I am still recovering and can't do much. I'm not falling asleep all the time like I was a couple of weeks ago so I have high hopes I will be able to listen without switching over to reading.
ETA: It is too bad we can't lend audiobooks like we can lend Kindle or Nook books!
Breann,I finished my second pick,
and really enjoyed it. Great writing, characters - also hot ;)Thanks for all of the great picks!
Carrie, I finished another of your picks and I really enjoyed it. I read
and despite the slightly cheesy cover it was pretty good. I will definitely read another by this author. Thanks for the picks!!
I finally got my first read done,
. I was ok. There were some really good parts, but I found myself skimming a lot.
Pam wrote: "Karen HFinished second recommendation All He Ever Needed. Not my favorite of the series but a solid 3 *** read."
I'm glad you liked it Pam, even if it wasn't a favorite. I love the whole series, and I'm really glad she's got more planned!
Sassafrass wrote: "I'm on my way to start Fix You now. ~KarenH~ has given me a ton of good recs this month and I got sucked into Dragon Bound! "Yay! I'm so glad you're enjoying your picks, especially
Dragon Bound and One Reckless Summer. I'm always nervous about books that I recommend that are totally new authors! :)
Elizabeth I started my second book:
. So far I'm enjoying it much more than I expected to. After being disappointed with
(I struggled to the halfway point and finally put it back on my TBR to finish later.), I was afraid Dublin wouldn't live up to the hype.

I finished my first pick, Seducing Jane Porter, and it was just ok for me. I didn't realize until after I'd started it that it was the first installment in a serial, and I'm not a fan of those. If I think of it as just the first few chapters of a book it was pretty good, good enough that I would probably continue if I had the rest of the serial on hand, but I don't feel the need to run out and pick them up to finish it!Thanks for nudging me to get it off my TBR, Laura! I'm hoping to read one or two more picks before the end of the month.
I finished my first book - On Dublin Street - it was a cute contemp romance and I liked it, but didn't love it - probably 3.5 stars (i'm very picky..)

Dee wrote: "I finished my first book - On Dublin Street - it was a cute contemp romance and I liked it, but didn't love it - probably 3.5 stars (i'm very picky..)"I gave it 3.5* too Dee. I rounded it up to four on GR, I liked Joss and her back story, but their relationship wasn't my favorite. Couldn't get into him as much as I wanted to (did that sound dirty LOL)

Really? Ok, which version is the well edited one?

--great buddy read. I really did enjoy this one. It was such a sweet friends to lovers story
--I didn't like this one as much as I liked the first book. Dom's secret was the big shocker I was expecting, and I didn't see much relationship development beyond them having LOTS of hot sex. I'm still planning to read:
and I'm really going to try to get to:
Dee wrote: "Karen - i have the next 2 Jane porter books if you decide you want to read them - I bought them wayyy back when..."Thanks, Dee - I'll keep that in mind if I ever get the urge!

Now, see, this is what I was talking about when I said I'm always behind...I haven't even started this one yet. :(
Finished my second pick Fifteen Shades of Gay and, like most others who've read it, it completely exceeded my expectations! Don't let the title & cover deceive you, this is a wonderful story.
Breann wrote: "Finished my second pick Fifteen Shades of Gay and, like most others who've read it, it completely exceeded my expectations! I don't think we'd decided definitely, but my schedule is flexible so whenever works for you is fine..."
What about next week? I'm pretty flexible too, obviously since I don't know what the heck I'm reading and when! LOL
