Just finished my book for "bike" week! Sorry for the delay. I'll get my review posted asap. I'm going to claim Lightning, Hood, and Elbow. I could switch to necklace, but I think hood is harder for me to find.

Melanie claim hood if its harder for you. Sam if all of us claim necklace then Melanie claims it with her eyes book would work. I'm hoping to find musical instrument in my eyes book then well have a point for it too :)

The book I had planned to read for eyes doesn't have necklace in it, so I'm going to switch my book to The Dilemma of Charlotte Farrow. I'll claim Wind, Necklace, Eyes, and Shelf. :)

I'm going to change my book to The Sword In The Stone. I'll claim eyes, hood, paper and possibly rainbow if Dawn approved the use in the book...

Week Five: Bike

My review:

This is the seventh of Irene Hannon's books I've read and it did not disappoint! Vanished started off with a bang and held my attention throughout! While I did guess a lot of what was going to happen in the story, it was still a great suspense read.

I thought the characters were great and I especially liked Cal and Dev. :) I have to say, though, I couldn't help getting a little frustrated with one of the characters because I found what he/she was doing to be very foolish.

Overall, I enjoyed Vanished very much and can hardly wait to read book two in the Private Justice series when it releases! I recommend it if you enjoy romantic suspense novels.

Lol....going through a list of instruments is fun (not!)...the 2 I found the most are flute and piano :)

Review:
This was a re-read for me and it was just as good the second time. I had forgotten how vulnerable Rhiannon is in this book. In the future installments that's not the case. Rhiannon has to be my all time favorite MC her sarcasm and actions are so funny. When I look back to this book compared to the last one the transformation and growth that Rhiannon goes through is crazy. I do wish there had been more scenes with Paine in book 1 though. Ms. Saare is a mastermind with her character developments & plots. It's not often book 1 in a series starts out as good as this one does. Anyone who is a lover of the Night Huntress Series needs to read this book!

I loved this book! It was a strong start for a first in a series. Rhiannon is too funny her smart a$$ comments and come backs were great. Rhiannon is a necromancer and she can see vamps after they die as well. This makes her a hot commodity. Someone is kidnapping vamps and removing their hearts while they're alive and aware. Disco is the head of his line of vamps and decides that Rhiannon is going to work for them and try to catch who's killing the vamps. Rhiannon has had a very troubled childhood and doesn't trust or love anyone. Disco gets to her and she is scared to let go and fall for him. The character development was great, both Disco & Rhiannon are great characters. The plot was great, a good balance of action & romance. I highly recommend this series.

Just noticed I typed this. Sometimes the blonde really comes out in me lol. Can't claim elbow with eyes! So next week I'll get elbow. It's a pretty easy one for me to find too. No luck with instrument so far. I'll probably have to claim shelf for my misc. although I think before I review I'm going to search through to see if it has better potential. I'll be starting it for a buddy read tomorrow anyways.

I'm leaning towards snow for my weather item and bra for clothes. What do y'all think?

I'm doing snow so if you do snow only Melanie will be left to claim that one and I personally would pick bra...out of the 24 books I've gone through only 10 had bra and 20 had socks plus no of us have claimed socks yet so that's my opinion :)

I'll have lightning, curly hair and bike done with my bike book (hopefully today!) and then probably belt for the clothes item, so that should give us a few points :)

My notifications are completely messed up, so I'm basically only seeing that you guys have posted if I come to the thread itself. This is getting really frustrating! Jennifer, are yours still acting up?

Yep, I probably get 2 out of 20 notifications (in the RR Scavenger Hunt I'm getting none). It's a pain but I've just been going to all my discussions to see if there is anything new after I check my email. I was thinking about contacting GR but I keep hoping it will fix its self so I haven't done it yet :)

This is the first time in 3 days that I've actually HAD notifications. I thought it was kind of weird when I checked my Goodreads after work yesterday and didn't have any new notifications...Ugh, I really do hope it resolves itself though, it's annoying!

I started my eyes book today but it should be a quick read! I'm already about a third of the way through. As for my bike book, I'm still working on it. Hopefully I'll manage to finish it soon! It's not even that I'm not enjoying it, or that it's a hard read, so I have no idea why it's taking me so long...

I personally can't read more than one book at a time. It makes me feel I'm being unfaithful to one of the books...lol

LOL I know what you mean Jennifer! I was like that for a really long time, but I finally gave up on it while reading Anna Karenina. I found that I was going days without reading because I was ONLY reading Anna Karenina but some days I just wasn't feeling it.

Review:
I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to get into this book. The main character, Chess, is a drug addict, so much so that she can't function without drugs in her system. While this is off-putting, and while the people she hangs out with are violent drug dealers and enforcers and other users, somehow Kane manages to make Chess and her cohorts (namely Terrible and Lex) interesting and even appealing in a strange way. Much to my surprise, the story ended up pulling me in. It was a bit complicated and hard to follow at times, but it made sense by the end. And I find myself oddly curious about what lies in Chess' future.

Uhh it's shoulder :-/

Glad you liked Unholy Ghosts Jennifer! The next one is really good too but once you hit books 3-5 the series goes from good to gold star!

Let me tell you the more dark dystopian books I read, the more I love this genre. I couldn't put this one down.
Angels have started a war on earth, starting the apocalypse. Penryn takes care of her crippled little sister and schizophrenic mother. Her little sister gets kidnapped by angels after she saves another angels life. Her and said angel Raffe band together for a rescue mission and to try to get Raffe's wings reattached. The chemistry between Raffe and Penyrn was perfect, they didn't fall head over heels in love after one kiss and I'm dying to know how it plays out with these two. This book did live up to the hype and I can't wait to get my hands on the next one!

My review:

The Truth of the Matter was a thrilling ride! I loved it! It was very interesting to learn more about what was really going on in Charlie's life and, I have to say, I was surprised by some of the things revealed!

There was so much action in The Truth of the Matter that it held my attention throughout! I don't think there was anything I didn't like about this book... it's my favorite of the Homelanders series so far! The ending left me itching to pick up The Final Hour (book four) as soon as possible!

I recommend The Truth of the Matter if you enjoy YA action novels - it was fantastic! I think you should probably read books one and two first, though, so things will make sense.

How many weeks are left?

2/15 is when the last item is called unless a team finishes before. No other team had a point for shoulder either :-/

After claiming "Mist/Fog" for this week I will only have "Rain" left to claim in the weather category...what happens if 2 weeks from now a non-weather item is called...Will I only claim 3 items since all of the weather items have been claimed?

I hope that made some sort of sense...lol

Once you have a category completed then you're down to claiming 3 items for the week only. And that's when you really cross your fingers that an item doesn't get called from the other categories that you have already claimed. Last round the last two weeks that was the case. My team me and one other player each had two items left to get that final time.
