Sorry, I can only guess at how Goodreads works....but if you only tag one book as "read" with a date, it will only count as one book

If you decide to choose the 2 books and mark the 2 books as read, it will count as 2.

Is there going to be a readathon for summer?

I'm really missing the activeness in this group! Everyone comments from here to there but there aren't that many conversations going around anymore unless it's in a buddy read. I miss a lot of you :( There are over 11,000 members here and hopefully a lot of them will come forward introduce themselves and have a really nice time here. It's such an amazing group with crazy awesome challenges and discussions.

I really wish more people joined in on challenges too and I think one way it could improve is by sending monthly newsletters? I know when the other group I'm in sends one I read it through sometimes and find some awesome challenges. Maybe the members can't see when a challenge is going on from everything happening in the group? You can let everyone know what's going on in the group through the message where they will see it all directly instead of multiple threads talking about different things? I dont know it's just a suggestion :)

I hope all of you are enjoying your summer I still love being in this group, by far still my favorite here on goodreads ever! I am proud to be a 3 years strong member :) I have been wanting to interact with the other members here and a lot are really sweet and fun. I hope to see you all more!!

I have a question and I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask but I didn't see any other place to ask.

Does anybody know how to change the cover for a book when you are making a thread and you need to put the book cover in the This Topic Is About section or are we just stuck with that one option they give us?

I'm hoping to add some new challenges - they can be group challenges, scavenger hunt ideas, monthly ideas, etc

If anyone has any ideas (and would even be willing to run them but you wouldn't have/need to)

I had a suggestion for the group: cubbyholes! I found cubbyholes on another group called Teen Critic, and I think they'd be great for the members of Crazy for YA Books. I'm willing to manage cubbyholes if needed!

as best I can tell, cubbyholes are spots for members to keep track of their challenges or store their own threads, right?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't there a monthly scavenger hunt at some point? I remember doing one and really enjoying it, but I can't remember if it was with this group or not. I'd love to see something like that again :D.

Sarah, we did have scavenger hunts but I think they were for a 6 month period of time for the most part. I miss them as well because we haven't had one that I can remember since the beginning of the year. We did have one last July through December, but we could've had one earlier this year that I forgot about.

Oh, yes! I think you're right about six months. I don't know why, but I always have fun doing those. It was one of my favourite parts of the group movie challenge we did a few months ago.

Keep an eye out for new posts!! We'll be reviving some of those old challenges we had but lost.... :)

I posted something like this exactly a year ago LOL but I still think it could benefit a lot towards the group. I've been looking at the sign up sheets for different challenges and there's less participants now :( I still think a way this could probably help is to send out monthly newsletters. Like the topic of "Group Updates" helps a lot too but I think if you guys send a message to the members at the beginning or middle of the month where you say what's going on right now and what sign ups are open I think more people will see them.

It's just a thought and maybe it might work or maybe it won't but it doesn't hurt to try right? I hope you all have a wonderful summer!

I'm new here so thought I would ask.

I am a teacher and wrote a novel to inspire a young student to read as she was very reluctant. It then appeared that there were loads of (mostly) girls who wanted a copy of the text. This inspired me to hone the text and publish it as an ebook for a super cheap price so more young readers could access it.

Is it ok to highlight my book on this group or not? I don't want to presume.

It is a kpop novel, which is quite a niche area so I hope it will get a few more people reading.

I need to interview teens about reading habits for my YA lit class, so I'm posting my questions on Goodreads. Is there a place I could do that in this group?? Or should I just ask my questions in other groups?

I would say this one should be fine. I'm not a teen but would be glad to answer questions

Thanks! I'm putting it in the "About You" folder, since that looked like previous users have asked similar questions. It's just a list of questions, no links, because I want people to choose what questions they want to answer, in case they don't feel confortable answering some of the questions! Sorry I didn't see this when it was posted. Generally, challenge completion is just for you, but occasionally we do Prize Pool on a specific challenge where the winner and a random participant will get the chance to pick a book from the pool and have it mailed to them! Keeep an eye out on the challenges. We normally post which challenge is a Prize Pool Challenge in the Group Updates Thread.

In the book pool what are the numbers for when your trying to comment? Every time someone comments a book they've read they put a number as the first thing they comment and I can't figure out what it stands for. I'm very confused.

I can't say for sure since I've actually never participated in that challenge, but it looks like most people are posting the number they are listed in the Tracking Post to make it easier to track their points.
