Dylan stood in front of his target, bow drawn with an arrow intacked. He thought of Ellie, feeling sad tgat tgey hadn't talked in about a year. He missed her like crazy.

Ellie had treaded lightly behind him, and asked in her good old Texan accent, "What's the matter, mister?" in a friendly voice.
Dylan whirled around at the familiar voice, dropping his bow in the process. "The matter has been fixed," he stated as he looked her over. She hadn't changed much over the year. Frankly, neither had he.
She smiled, and she thought that he hadn't changed much. Frankly, she'd gotten a horrible haircut and gotten braces, but she managed to hide them with a sly smile.
"I love your hair," he said as he pulled her into a crushing hug. "How was your year?" He asked, wrapping his arms aroubd her waist.
"Fine. I learned to...play lacrosse, and use the bow even better than before. Oh, and horseback riding, though they hate me..."
"It's impossible for anyone or anything to hate you," he murmered, toying with a strand of her hair. "Do you like lacrosse?" He asked, pulling back a little so he could kiss her.
Dylan kissed her lips gently. "It has been a long year. Especially because I missed you so much," he murmered against her lips.
Dylan raised an eyebrow at her apparent wall that had been thrown between them. "Kinda?" He asked, standing beside her.
Dylan gave her a wistful look. "Okay. I'll try and see you later, okay?" He asked, cupping her chin and gently kissing her.

Denise entered the archery range with her bow and quiver full of arrows. She aimed at her first target before letting it zip straight at it. The arrow hit the middle. Denise recently decided to spend more time outside of the forest.
Katie arrived at the archery range, bright blue hair pulled back into a tight ponytail and her hair slid neatly down her back. She gazed the racks, bright blue eyes showing little interest as she looked the bows over carefully. Her wrist itched, almost a burn, but she knew better than to scratch it. The scorpian sting had left a small scar on the inside of her wrist, and it would itch occasionally.
((I am so sorry, my computer crashed when I was downloading sheet music. >^<))
The sound of arrows lodging into targets beat around the grassy range, arrows whizzing past, and bow strings twanging. Amidst the busy atmosphere, Holly noticed a girl studying the selection of bows.
"Hi there, need some help?" she offered, stepping up beside her. The shock of blue hair helped her to identify her as Katie, from the Ares cabin.

()That's otay. I understand.)) Katie's gaze tore away from the many bows and arrows, to meet the stunningly cool eyes of a dark haired girl. She looked rather frail to Katie, breakable even. Nodding, she turned back to the bows with a shrug. "I'm not sure what kind if bow I need. Or who you are," she explained, again turning back to Holly with curiousity-lit eyes.
"Holly, Athena counselor," she said, hoping her god parent and camp status might become recognizable to Katie. Mostly everyone knew her, or at least should have. Sizing her up, Holly decided the well-muscled girl could use a bow stronger than the one she held in her hand.
Recodnition sparked in the Ares gir's eyes. Though, not because she knew Holly. She smiled slightly, nodding at the Athena girl in greeting. "Ah. Okay. I do know someone from that cabin." The smile got wider, much to her emberassment.
The smile gave Holly enough of a hint to make the connection. Last year, when her half-brother would walk into the cabin blushing and they would tease him...So this must be the Katie.
"So you need some help with a bow?" she asked, saving her from even further embarrassment by letting the topic slide.
"So you need some help with a bow?" she asked, saving her from even further embarrassment by letting the topic slide.
Katie nodded, warming up to Holly already. She was immensly relieved that she hadn't pressed on the subject of Stephen. "Um...yeah. I figured I coukd try out sone archery. Sounds like it could be fun." She shrugged, gazing again at the many bows that lay before her.
Holly's eyes wandered over a few slim-looking bows. Some of them looked like she could easily snap them in half. "You should try something lighter, so you can focus on technique first," she advised, taking one off the rack and weighing it in her hands before holding it out to Katie.
Katie took the bow with a small smile. "Thanks," she murmered, weighing th ebow in her hands like she would a sword. It was obvious how lttle she knew about this weapon. "Do youknow who everinvented the bow?" She asked in curiosity. Unlike most Ares children, the arts and inventions fascinated Katie, and she was always hungry for more information about them.
She might as well have asked an Aphrodite if they wanted to go shopping, or a Poseidon if they wanted to go to the beach. Holly's eyes lit up with enthusiasm while she recounted the ancient origins of a bow. "There's no sure answer, but Stone-Age men invented it and became the most efficient hunters on Earth. Arrows date back 25,000 to 50,000 years ago but no doubt men made arrows without stone points for untold ages before that," she rattled off.
Katie smiled a bit wider, amusement glinting in her bright blue eyes. "Very interesting," she praised gently. Taking the bow full in her hands, she streatched out the string, easily working the bow into a comfortable shooting stance.
"Careful with the string," Holly warned when she stretched it. "It can snap pretty easily if pulled back too far." But Katie seemed to be naturally good with weapons, taking a good position for shooting almost immediately.
Katie glanced back at Holly, nodding slowly. Her grip almost immediatly loosened on the string, making herself not so stiff when she held the weapon.
"Just relax," Holly said breezily, ducking out of the way of the wild arrow that flew past her shoulder. A comical contrast indeed. She plucked an arrow from her quiver, the end tipped with a reddish feather of a hawk.
Katie relaxed, holding the bow less tiht so that her hadn regained it's color. Squaring her shoulders, but not tensing them, she stayed in the shooting postiton, watching the Athenian intently.
Holly pulled back far on the string, just below the point of the bow snapping. Unfortunately, she didn't know Katie was watching a hard technique for a beginner, being focused on her target and all. Letting go, she watched the arrow zoom away and embed itself in her target with lethal accuracy.
Katie shrugged, straightenin herself and pulling back on the bow. Doesn't look that hard, she thought to herself just before she let the arrow fly. Unfortuanatly, the arrow didn't go exactly where she planned on seeing it fly. The arrow whizzed out of control, dodging past the statue of Aphrodite, almost hitting the statue in the nose.
"Whoa there." Holly watched the arrow fly out of view, lip twitching up into an amused smirk. "You might want to pull back a little less," she informed Katie. "For the sake of everyone's welfare."
Katie watched the arrow go, face turning bright pink in embarrassment. Nodding slowly, she once more pulled back on the bow, though with not as much force as before. She did this numerous times at different angles before nothng an arrow into the bow.

"OK, now take your time with aiming," Holly instructed patiently. "Make sure your fingers are steady, too."
"OK, now take your time with aiming," Holly instructed patiently. "Make sure your fingers are steady, too."
Katie tried to make her fingers steady, but they shook slightly. Turning to the target in front of her, she aimed slowly, moving the bow slightly in front of the buls-eye.
Holly watched her fingers with narrowed eyes, disapproval clear on her face. "Relax. Don't think about it too much, and aim carefully." But beginners were always unpredictable, and she ready to duck at any moment.
Katie nodded, relaxing her fingers a little. They weren't as relaxed as she would have liked, but she figured that it was close enough. watching the target closely, she let go.
Emily watched the Athenian teach the Ares with child-like amusement. Who knew an Ares would even consider asking for help? First time for everything, she answered herself. Plucking her own bow with a hand, she thoughtfully looked around for an empty target.
Vonne frowned as she notched and arrow into place and lifted the bow towards a target.
Emily watched the girl with a slightly detatched curiosity. She walked over so that she was a few feet away and gazed at the target being aimed at.
She pulled the string back as she bit her lip. She hesitated before letting go of the cord, but when she did, the arrow zoomed past the target and landed a couple of meters away from the bulls-eye. "Bloody hell," she muttered under her breath crossly.
Vonne nodded. "I usually use my boomerang," she said with a sad smile as she notched another into place.
Denise smiled to herself. Direct hit. She did the same a few more times before approaching the target to claim her arrows.
Inspecting the points of her arrows, Hayley sat on the edge of the archery range with a ferret circling around her and trying to scare off butterflies.
