Lucas arched a brow at the sudden change of attitude, but didn't complain. He'd rather have her like this than glaring daggers at him, and maybe now he could get her to talk. "I suppose so," he said, pursing his lips contemplatively.

Staying silent, Myra let her gaze travel to the outcrop of trees and the horizon beyond. "Where'd your pushy sister go?" she murmured in a soft yet teasing voice, pushing a lock of hair out of her eyes.

message 503: by [deleted user] (new)

"Ah, Jessica." Lucas stressed her name, the girl hated being called by her real name. "I dunno, but she sucks at archery. She should stick to swordfighting, in my opinion."

Because your opinion matters ever so much. But Myra hushed the thought away. He'd clearly come as an attempt to apologize, and Myra was tired of being sore.
"Clearly you're not the best at archery, either," Myra said in her breathy murmur, her gaze lingering on Lucas' discarded bow. "So what is your best weapon? I'm guessing..." Myra studied Lucas, unabashed. "Got it. Spear." She gave him a ravishing smile.

Lucas nodded, tilting his head and narrowing his eyes. "You're making it ever so hard not to think of you as an Athena, but I went to their cabin a few days ago, and I've figured you're not new."

Myra opened her mouth, wanting at first to give him her name and godly parent. She closed it after a moment's hesitation. Let him wonder.
"You're flattering me," Myra said with a raise of her eyebrows. "It's just easy to see what weapon you'd carry. You don't exactly have a subtle personality."

message 507: by [deleted user] (new)

Da*n it, so close. Lucas couldn't help but feel a small sense of triumphant in getting somewhere. "Very true, but I don't really like the branic Athena kids, very boring people."

"Am I boring?" Myra asked without missing a beat, smiling slyly at Lucas. Mwahahaha.

message 509: by [deleted user] (new)

"You're not wise," Lucas replied evenly, avoiding the question.

"But am I boring?" Myra was grinning fully now, her face bright and alive with delight.

message 511: by [deleted user] (new)

Um, shut up. "Now I see what you mean about being bright and happy," Lucas said, heaving a sigh. "Why does my opinion matter?"

Myra pouted. "You can't answer a simple question?"

message 513: by [deleted user] (new)

"No," Lucas said, sarcasm giving his voice an edge. "You see, Ares' children can't do things like that, it's quite sad."

message 514: by ., Goddess of Bacon (new)

. (onawhim) | 17465 comments Mod
"Very," Myra agreed with a deep sigh. "Well, luckily for you, I can. You're not boring." She gave Lucas a bright smile.

Playing is so fun.

message 515: by [deleted user] (new)

Lucas hesitated on his reply, arching his brows. "Hmm, you're a curious subject."

"What am I, an experiment?" Myra said with a rueful twist of her lips.

message 517: by [deleted user] (new)

"I don't know what you are," Lucas responded. "You won't tell me. For all I know you could be a satyr."

Myra's jaw dropped open in shock, though she giggled. "A satyr?! Do I look like I've got a beard?"

message 519: by [deleted user] (new)

"You do have a little peach fuzz," Lucas said, trying not to laugh and gesturing to her chin. "Right there."

"What? Where?" Myra made a show of looking down at her chin and rubbed her smooth skin with a puzzled look. She pouted after a moment. "Will you stop teasing me if I tell you who I am?" Certainly, Myra was only acting childlike.

message 521: by [deleted user] (new)

Lucas grinned triumphantly. Sweet. "Only one way to find out."

"Myra Dejeunesse, daughter of--" She stopped there, a teasing smile on her lips.

message 523: by [deleted user] (new)

"Ah, so you are a saytr, Miss Myra. Where are your reed pipes? Wait-" Lucas stopped himself, shaking his head. "You must be one of those tone-deaf satyrs."

"I may be a nymph, for all you know," Myra said with a haughty yet mischevious smile.

message 525: by [deleted user] (new)

"I doubt that," Lucas said with a snort. "You were just about to tell me you god parent, obviously."

message 526: by ., Goddess of Bacon (new)

"What, you don't think I look like a nymph?" Myra said with a sad little sigh. She'd gotten that compliment many times before.

Colin (pottermaniac) Colin, Son of Zeus draws an arrow and shoots at the target

message 528: by [deleted user] (new)

"Ahhh, questions." Lucas closed his eyes in mock agony sighing in frustration.

Colin (pottermaniac) He fails miserably and zaps the arrow with electricity and guides it to the target
"guess i need to work a bit harder on my archery skills, huh"

((Proper punctuation, please, Colin! And try using past tense.))

Myra gave Colin a fleeting smile and looked back at the Ares boy. "It shouldn't be very hard to answer."

message 531: by [deleted user] (last edited Sep 18, 2010 07:38PM) (new)

((1. Please make a character sheet.
2. Use grammar and punctuation please.
3. Have you read the rules and everything?))

"I know you're not a nymph," Lucas replied.

((With what?))

Myra's pout deepened. "Why ever not?"

message 533: by [deleted user] (new)

((Please go to the Greetings topic so that we don't spam this place up.))

"Because, I'm pretty sure that you wouldn't announce that your daughter of someone if you weren't a nymph. And if not," Lucas shrugged, though a small smile played on his lips. "Ah, well."

message 534: by Colin (new)

Colin (pottermaniac) Colin discreetly leaves the Archery Range, allowing Lucas and Myra to "talk" freely

Myra sighed, glancing at her watch set on her delicate wrist. "Well, it's been fun playing with you, Lucas," she said with a grin, knowing that he'd be surprised that she knew her name. "But I'm getting hungry."

message 536: by [deleted user] (new)

"I am not a toy," Lucas replied indignantly, his anger starting to bubble. His eyes narrowed, though his brow went up in surprise. So, she does know who I am. "I'd better get to the cabin, someone owes me..." he trailed off into a mutter, lip curling an in anticipating smile.

Myra tilted her head down so her glossy hair cascaded down her front. "Have fun then," she said, leaping up gracefully, her skirt swirling around her tan thighs. "Nice meeting you, Lucas."

message 538: by [deleted user] (new)

"It was fun," Lucas said with a mischievous smile, standing up. "You know, almost killing you." He paused for a moment before saying, "You should get that burn checked."
And with that well thought out goodbye, he turned and strode toward the Ares cabin.

Myra turned away in the opposite direction, rolling her eyes. It would take some time to get used to his cocky personality, but he did seem like an okay guy under all the macho-machoness. Myra's bare feet stepped softly through the grass and in a moment, she'd disappeared through the trees like a dryad.

§Lilybear (Hannah)§ Panda Luver ♥ (Pandaz) | 160 comments Hannah followed Hayley down to the archery range slowly, almost shyly.

message 541: by [deleted user] (new)

"There's no one here," Hayley murmured, more to herself. The less the better. "You don't have a bow yet, we'll get you one. Mine is at my cabin, so we'll use these." Way to come prepared. She handed Hannah a bow and quiver, taking one of her one.

§Lilybear (Hannah)§ Panda Luver ♥ (Pandaz) | 160 comments "Thanks," Hannah said, taking the quiver and strapping it over her shoulder. She picked up the bow in a firm grip.

message 543: by [deleted user] (new)

"Well, I assume you've never done this before, am I right?" Hayley asked, tilting her head to one side as she studied her.

message 545: by [deleted user] (new)

Hayley reached over and readied the bow and arrow for Hannah, doing it slowly enough for her to see how it was done. "Right, do this..." She brought her own bow into position.

§Lilybear (Hannah)§ Panda Luver ♥ (Pandaz) | 160 comments Hannah copied Hayley, feeling the bow fall into place naturally. "Next?"

message 547: by [deleted user] (new)

"Pull back..." Hayley pulled back on her bow as she spoke, instinctively aiming it for the target's center. "Don't go too far, the bow might snap."

§Lilybear (Hannah)§ Panda Luver ♥ (Pandaz) | 160 comments Hannah nodded, pulling the arrow past her ear. She stared at the bulls eye, taking sharp aim.

message 549: by [deleted user] (new)

"And....release." At the word, Hayley let go and her arrow flew at the target, hitting it right on the bulls-eye.

§Lilybear (Hannah)§ Panda Luver ♥ (Pandaz) | 160 comments Hannah let go. The arrow flew through the air, only to land on the ring two away from the bulls-eye.
