Haiku
That I could blame anything on M'sieur Guy as a perpertrator of such angelic words would indeed be as high on the order of compliments that are in my power to bestow.
How to follow writing as smooth as that? Her long pearl necklace,
her diamond ring, fell between
the planks of the dock,
but for a moment
shimmering, then sank in gloom
to the mossy rock.
Ah, to be so blamed makes my face smile with gratitude. However, I know that these exquisitely crafted words come from you. I am blameless in their creation, and bow my head respectfully at how well you express your imaginations and creativity.
Excellent writing, M, Jim, Lilian and Guy - a pleasure to wake up to. And thanks for your earlier compliment, M, it means a lot.
Thank you, Ryan--and excellent haiku, by the way! What was launched in thee’s
and thou’s ended in strange beds,
with fish-nibbled vows.
Great writing Ryan and M, Lilian and Jim.counting unseen fish
How can I count thee
when thou are't still just a dream
I sometimes see swim
in a dark room of my mind
that is lost when I awake?
Good. Very busy. I have a few free moments, and so took advantage and jumped into this delightful thread. How are you?
Wow, excellent Jim, Lilian, M, Ryan and Guy :)
Guy, i love portico poetry and wine! Hope you are well.
#5443 is funny, M!
Good morning pirates :)

Good morning pirates :)
Good afternoon, fellow pirate. Glad you enjoyed it. It's been fun having the time to jump in here again. I've missed it. Wow. You guys have been creating some truly amazing images and ideas with the Haiku/Senryu here. I am well, Leslie. You? Have the floods abated? It's been several days since I last had news about them.
Guy wrote: "Nice, Adrian. Have you had lucid dreams? (They're a lot of fun!)"Only rarely. My dreams are usually just weird. You?
I'm good, thanks for asking :) Other towns/cities near the lake are still flooded, I think.
Hello, Guy and Ryan and Leslie and Lilian and Adrian! I’ve been trying to cut down on writing these, but this is such delightful company to be in. Lilian, your writing is beautiful!
cut down??? are you going to deprive us of your funny and clever and beautiful haiku, M? :)
Oh and yes, I agree, Lilian, your writing is beautiful.

By the last gin fizztorpedoed before she could
get him unSpeedoed,
he sank into sleep’s
murky deep, counting pale fish
instead of sheep.
You’re far too kind! Just when I get ready to start writing something prim and proper, my muse grows devil’s horns and a tail.
I'm going to go out on a limb here and suggest that, quite possibly, that is the world's very first recorded use of unSpeedoed in a haiku...well done, M!
Lol! I won't stop you as long as you don't cut down on writing haiku, use Emily Blunt all you want or Julianne Moore or Allison (did I spell her name right?) :P
and 5459 is very funny, M!

Hello M. Sorry, I've sidetracked things again. I'll blame it on the excellent company. And your muse is very funny.
Adrian, many lucid dreams. I used to practice having them. They are a lot of fun to have, and practice made them more frequent and I could get the lucidity to last longer. The last one I had was a mystery story with the actress Kyra Sedgwick in it.
Ryan, that was a very thin limb you went out on. NOT! LOL! I would almost be willing to suggest it may be one of at most 2 or 3 uses of 'unSeedoed' in a poem anywhere.
Thank you! I appreciate the encouragement (I think). By the way, I saw an Emily Blunt movie last weekend, called Gideon’s Daughter. It wasn’t worth watching, even for a look at Emily Blunt.
I haven't seen that movie. Does that mean that your fascination with Blunt is over? :P
Ryan wrote: "Miss Blunt had never
felt such pain, she vowed to win
M's heart back again"
Lol! you never miss an opportunity to write a haiku about her, Ryan :)
Falling off the wall,
her heart breaks into million
pieces that all the
pirates and M's mice can't put
her back together again.
sorry, will try again later harhar

Thanks, Adrian! Not my best writing but I certainly appreciate your comment :)No, Leslie. I'm just one more pirate corrupted by M. Great haiku!
In my dreams! That’s all I can say. Ryan and Leslie, these are wonderful. I tried to post last night, but there wasn’t enough signal. We use an air card out here.
Early evening, around 6..you woke up early, M, I'm 11 hours ahead of you, I think.
Magandang tanghali, Jim! :)

Hello, Jim!I woke up about 2:30 a.m. and couldn’t go back to sleep. For me, early in the morning is usually a good time for writing verse, for pulling images up out of the deep dark.
Lol! Excellent, Jim! :))
I agree with you M, early morning is the best time to write.
