How to follow writing as smooth as that?


Her long pearl necklace,
her diamond ring, fell between
the planks of the dock,

but for a moment
shimmering, then sank in gloom
to the mossy rock.

a dark, murky grave
welcomes the passion-slipped ring
- fish eat broken vows

Ah, to be so blamed makes my face smile with gratitude. However, I know that these exquisitely crafted words come from you. I am blameless in their creation, and bow my head respectfully at how well you express your imaginations and creativity.

Good afternoon, fellow pirate. Glad you enjoyed it. It's been fun having the time to jump in here again. I've missed it. Wow. You guys have been creating some truly amazing images and ideas with the Haiku/Senryu here.

Hello, Guy and Ryan and Leslie and Lilian and Adrian! I’ve been trying to cut down on writing these, but this is such delightful company to be in. Lilian, your writing is beautiful!

Please don't cut down, M, that would be a big loss...

You’re far too kind! Just when I get ready to start writing something prim and proper, my muse grows devil’s horns and a tail.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and suggest that, quite possibly, that is the world's very first recorded use of unSpeedoed in a haiku...well done, M!

And I think your muse may have been born with devil's horns and a tail.

Lol! I won't stop you as long as you don't cut down on writing haiku, use Emily Blunt all you want or Julianne Moore or Allison (did I spell her name right?) :P

Hello M. Sorry, I've sidetracked things again. I'll blame it on the excellent company.

And your muse is very funny.

Adrian, many lucid dreams. I used to practice having them. They are a lot of fun to have, and practice made them more frequent and I could get the lucidity to last longer. The last one I had was a mystery story with the actress Kyra Sedgwick in it.

Ryan, that was a very thin limb you went out on. NOT! LOL! I would almost be willing to suggest it may be one of at most 2 or 3 uses of 'unSeedoed' in a poem anywhere.

Thank you! I appreciate the encouragement (I think). By the way, I saw an Emily Blunt movie last weekend, called Gideon’s Daughter. It wasn’t worth watching, even for a look at Emily Blunt.

I haven't seen that movie. Does that mean that your fascination with Blunt is over? :P

I woke up about 2:30 a.m. and couldn’t go back to sleep. For me, early in the morning is usually a good time for writing verse, for pulling images up out of the deep dark.
