Splattered in my life
Ruining or painting portraits
The colors are blinding

And then there were none

pomegranate seeds
fall from mottled ceiling tiles
congealing below

grey matter sparkles
fragmented dreams silenced from
a moments weakness

I've missed some great writing in the few days I've been camping. Too many to list individually, but wonderful contributions from each of you.

Now to lower the standard considerably...

the forensic officer
collected my thoughts

OMG, everyone, there has been some truly scrumptious, bumptious, obnoxious, poisonous, and totally incredible writing since my last visit. So much fun to read! Thank you everyone. (Jim, no apologizing for fine writing!)

Al, nice to see your jump back into the fray with a fine set. Lilian, nice inaugural efforts! Too many good 575's to comment on. Such a great read to end a day.

What weight my thoughts had,
thoughts I thought deep and weighty
panned out, held no gold.

*Black sands are often found when gold panning in gold bearing grounds.

Excellent adaptation indeed. It may even have equalled the amazing adaptation of The Raj Quartet. Which, for the curious had a young Charles Dance in it.

The Count is one of my favorites, the movie was a pile of dung compared to the book. In the book he uses his intelligence, and patient planning to exact revenge upon his enemies, in the movie its all sword fights and violence. I believe the movie omits tons of characters as well.
