Haiku
"ghostly wind fingershelp the piper reach high notes
when out of kilter"
Ryan, this is delightful. And a real Haiku. I went back to re-read it, and I'm going to blame this on Pandora. She wants me to re-write it:
ghostly wind fingers
help the piper reach high notes
when he's out of kilt
Guy: [Sighs. To Ryan.] Sorry about that, Ryan. [Hangs head in shame. Goes looking for a good fake watch repairman who can read Chinese.]
LOL! Guy: [Bows more deeply to Ryan, in whole hearted acknowledgement of Ryan's Haiku enlightenment.]
And Ryan, you subtle dog, you, you commented on my Blog post and I didn't catch it. You read my blog? Thank you!I'm on a stay-at-vacation, and so will be posting stuff. I'm supposed to be writing my story for 'Awkward,' but the delightful writing in this thread keeps distracting me.
Guy, is the story about Jake?
Hello Leslie! You remember Jake? I ... I ... dont' know what to say. That is so nice. I have been thinking about Jake, too. But no, not this time. It is a weird sci-fi thing.
Which tells me it's time to go finish it. Wish me luck!
Yes, I do remember him and Janey lol I want to know what will happen next after meeting their psychologist at the bar. (I forgot what week and topic that was, but it had something to do with Janey's 'awakening')
Go, finish your story, you can do it! :))

Yes, I read it with a smile. What did I think? The same thing I've felt since joining the WSS - awe and respect for two brilliant, imaginative minds.
Really?! Thank you. And your comment is well appreciated. I almost didn't post it because I didn't think others would enjoy it.Professor Guy! You are a terrible moderator and a narcissistic one at that! Yet another thread has gone of its rails with endless mindless meaningless pointless chitter chatter.
Pandora: Really? This place — [she opens her arms wide] — this WSS is a place of the imagination. Its exuberance finds its expression unbound by the any particular thread's topic. It is alive and—
Professor: Messy! It is messy, just like life is messy. That's why we the rationalized human animal have created bulldozers and lawnmowers and concrete. Rules, Pandora, rules. Life without rules is anarchy.
Pandora: Yes. The misapplication of rules as being anything beyond socializing guideliens are the product of a mind that refuses to enjoin, enjoy, encompass or embrace being alive.
Professor: Bullshit! You are so full of it. Look at me? I am a product of a properly lived, rule-based life.
Pandora: [Doesn't say anything.]
LOL! Yes, I think so too. Up until the WSS, I can't say the other places I visited seemed so open and alive. I've been here for a while now. [Went and checked.] Wow! Since 2011! I've never stayed anywhere that long.
sorry to interrupt your convo. been awhile since I posted in this thread too, Ryan. Just getting back into the swing of things.
I’m certainly among the worst offenders, but it seems to me that there’s no justification for highjacking threads, even in the name of spontaneity. I see it as the triumph of self-absorption over respect for the institutions of the group.
A bra salesman whowore a fedora saw it.
“It was flying low.”
The pilot, he said,
looked like Pandora, a tall
dame he didn’t know.
LOL! Another great start to my day! Now to finish writing other stuff - Haiku writer hi-jacked by short story deadline.
to cop a feel'Where are the lost cups?'
Pandora asked the mod cop
Who kept her bras safe.
'That Guy guy mod hi-jacked them
For use in muse-corn* thread.'
*for definition and example of 'muse-corn' go to musecorn.
Dialog between oneself and one’s muse or muses, presented like lines in a play rather than as a narrative. It has its origin in the “Get to Know Your Character (Popcorn Served)” thread.
Ryan’s #5229 is spectacular! I read it right after it went up, and just sat there in stunned silence.
emotions stirred by
gale force winds; her face, white as
snow, was filled with bliss.
Good morning! Smile :)

Ha! That has got to be in the running for your best title yet, Belly. I always knew those dwarves were up to something!
Thanks, Ryan :)
Belly, so quick and funny!
Belly, so quick and funny!
but where is the crust? What is in her dream,
this long dream of apple pie?
There are tall tales
An evil queen, heroics,
The toil of ugly dwarves.
Thank you, Guy! Brilliant follow-up :) Good afternoon.
Welcome to haiku, Lilian!
Welcome to haiku, Lilian!
Welcome, Lillian, you're off to a great start on your journey to haiku-thread-addiction...Very clever, Guy! Great tie-in to Belly's.
Now it's past 12 noon, time for lunch :)
Lol! Oh, wait, is that a fushigi?
LOL! Well, in a small way it was. I didn't catch that. LOL!So, have you become a fushigi watcher, too? I am not sure whether to feel elated or dismayed that I may have corrupted an otherwise intelligent and honourable person. Sigh.
I'll just smile, and trust that your corruption will be of a minor and playful sort, the one that makes your fellow humans happy and glad to know you.

What a funny crew and our motley haiku!
This is a great way to start the end of my day, everyone. Seriously brilliant, creative and funny.
gong long geisha
To M's mild dismay
The Geisha was not Chinese.
An aristocrat,
A girl, Hiroshima born,
Fated to teach Japanese.
