M | 11617 comments Let me see if I can redeem myself, with something suitable for all audiences. Hmm.

She sprang from the bed,
wild with loathing and fright, nor
with any clothing,

in the dead of night,
and ran barefoot through the snow,
past mailbox and birch,
fast as she could go, to a
Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Lol, M!! You never fail to shock me :P oh, and Belly, too :)

message 3553: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments LOL M! Yes, I can believe it, but barely. You may want to check out the movie Boxing Helena about a surgeon who amputates his ex girlfriend in order to keep her from leaving him.

Zack nice rhythm and feel to your excellent continuation.

M, what a curious and highly entertaining narrative.

message 3554: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments I don't know how 'good' it is, but is definitely interesting. And it has a very good cast.

message 3555: by Guy (last edited Jul 14, 2013 03:21PM) (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments You're watching 'Magic City' then? She was fun in Gilmore Girls, too.

Okay, not up to M's high standards, but here goes nothing:

the sad tale of an elder's wandering wand

The bed springs relaxed
When the church bound girl left him
to his petite mort.
She had bigger fish to fry,
Elder John and his Pastor.

message 3556: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments This is delightful! She’s off to service an elder and the pastor. What was it Shakespeare said? Some soldiers die many little deaths, or some such thing.

message 3557: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Entertaining 1950's mob show on HBO. Unfortunately Fenn was only in it for a couple of episodes. Magic City gets 7.1/10 in iMDb. My wife watches it, but I've only caught bits and pieces here and there.

message 3558: by Guy (last edited Jul 14, 2013 03:45PM) (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments LOL! Thank you M. Yes, that does ring a faint bell. Anthony and Cleopatra? Hmmmm. Memory ain't what it used to be.

To a service, to be serviced, to be of service? [Shrugs.] Potatoes potaaaatoes.

Jim Agustin (jim_pascual_agustin) | 625 comments sheep, goat, skinny cows
nibbling green, flaps of garbage
cars blur citybound

-o-

sorry... tried to fit in pasture and pastor and others, but only this came out. messed up your narrative. should i delete?

message 3560: by [deleted user] (new)

No! It's very nice Jim :)

message 3561: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments NO! LOL. This is a very good 'real' Haiku. And we pirates here in the WSS have the power to make anything fit any narrative.

why cant you?

Behind the small church
the young Fenn lay on the grass.
In front of her goats,
beside her the bare pastor,
his dull drone of moral cants.

message 3562: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments The goats, in their way,
now conferred on how pastors
attend to their flocks.

The girl’s fervent prayers
would be heard at the steeple
that rose from his rocks.

message 3563: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments OMG, so funny! Thank you! Now I begin my day with a deep laugh lines on my face! RotFL!

message 3564: by Jim (new)

Jim Agustin (jim_pascual_agustin) | 625 comments hahahahaha

message 3565: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments Thank you, Guy and Jim! I’m feeling a little ashamed of myself for having posted it.

message 3566: by M (last edited Jul 15, 2013 07:47AM) (new)

M | 11617 comments Thank you, Belly!

Guy’s line about the pastor’s “dull drone of moral cants” seemed the thing to follow, but it was so well put that there seemed nothing else to say about it that wouldn’t pale in comparison. In Magic City, what sort of character is Fenn?

message 3567: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments I should be made to walk the plank for that one.

message 3568: by Guy (last edited Jul 15, 2013 08:47AM) (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Yes, undoubtedly, but those of us laughing will be there in line jumping in right after you.

Here's Fenn's character description:

" Magic City focuses on Miami Beach mobsters in the 1950s and Fenn will be joining the cast as Madame Renee, a former call-girl who now runs her own brothel."

forgive me

message 3570: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments LOL! No forgiveness required. Oops! I just laughed inappropriately and with extreme political incorrectly.

message 3571: by Caitlan (new)

Caitlan (lionesserampant) | 2869 comments I can never seem to keep up with this thread. Well done, people.

message 3572: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments I can’t either, Kat. Now and then I just throw something out there.

message 3573: by Caitlan (new)

Caitlan (lionesserampant) | 2869 comments Lol. More than I do.

message 3574: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm not sure about that, M. You're a 'haiku instigator', it has been difficult to follow yours :)

message 3575: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments Dreams found him face down
in the creeks, in days when he
was lean and scruffy,

a willow thrashing
his bare cheeks that hungered to
be spanked by Buffy.

message 3576: by [deleted user] (new)

Lol! wow, M and Belly, guess what I'll say next :P

I can't think of anything to write lol I'm a hopeless case as of the moment.

message 3577: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments Belly, what’s the reference? Who is Thomas?

message 3578: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments rotfl!

message 3579: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments Drunk, he didn’t know
freight trains from ships, ketches from
yawls, or woofs from yips.

message 3580: by Jim (new)

Jim Agustin (jim_pascual_agustin) | 625 comments new word for me... yiffing... yikes! still don't get who "Thomas" is here...

... and the corruption continues. hahahahaha

message 3581: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments I agree. Yikes! It reminds me of an old CSI Las Vegas episode.

message 3582: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments a whiff of yiffing

Thomas, just a guy,
yowls out to be called Scruffy
when yiffing with Guy.

message 3583: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments LOL! Thank you.
Your sentence in 4990 was so poetical it cried out to Haiku-ized.

message 3584: by Caitlan (new)

message 3585: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments I’m shocked, simply shocked.

M wrote: "I’m shocked, simply shocked."

Good, at least I'm not the only one.

Guy! @_@ Yay! Lol!

Forgive me for this one..

change of plans

Enough with the yiffing,
Thomas thought of scrubbing floors
as his new past time.

message 3587: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments LoL!
No forgiveness required.

message 3588: by Guy (last edited Jul 19, 2013 01:09PM) (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Thank-you, M! Perhaps the nicest compliment to get in this thread.

message 3589: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments When he was floor bored
Thomas would board with that Guy
To lay with floor broads.

message 3590: by [deleted user] (new)

Thomas in stealth mode;
avoiding creaking old floor
boards and talking walls.

message 3591: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments Moonlight traced the old
floorboards in strange progressions
of dreamed broken chords.

That's nice, M :)

A melody not
forgotten, veiled by a deep
wound that never healed.

M | 11617 comments Thank you, Leslie. You’ve followed it with an excellent one!

M | 11617 comments Sing moonshafts in air
that moulders, the dark-brown hair
that sculpts her shoulders.

message 3595: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Excellent, Leslie, M. My Saturday morning is about to get busy. Will follow up later.

message 3596: by [deleted user] (new)

Thank you, M, Guy. Good morning!

M | 11617 comments A silenced weekend
cast its crape myrtle shadows
on the spalling brick.

message 3598: by Guy (last edited Jul 21, 2013 09:38AM) (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments M, delightful! And yes, the morning disappeared and so to the day.
Good morning, Leslie although it is afternoon in your world?

the return to loam

The sprawling mansion
In appalling disrepair
Was indeed earth bound,
A fundamental return
To its shadow before time.

message 3599: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments Ah, death, I’ve come home.
Be it ever so humble,
there’s no place like loam.
