Like the blonde bombshell
who chose Woody, or a ro-
bot to do laundry.

message 3002: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments As Woody lounged, watched
Columbo, and flicked candy
wrappers in the trash,

he bolted upright,
gasping, “Oh, no!” From behind
him had come a crash.

He scrambled from the
easy chair to behold what
mischief had been done.

Amid the fragments’
smoke, there stood a furious
muse named Alison.

message 3003: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments LoL! F, M, Leslie! Great start to my day as I sip on my first cuppa from the office.

message 3004: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments Post it anyway, F! I’ll follow it.

message 3005: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments The bombshell's grey roots
revealed an experience
long used to milk old.

message 3006: by [deleted user] (new)

M, Alison is your character, right? I think I've read about her in the popcorn thread.

message 3007: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments Good morning, Guy and Alex!

message 3008: by M (last edited May 17, 2013 07:10AM) (new)

M | 11617 comments Leslie, yes, Alison is a character who is the personification of my muse (or whatever you would call the creative impulse). She isn’t what I would describe as even-tempered.

Alex, I’m wide awake. All the vacuum tubes in my brain have lit up.

In another group, I just posted, “French is like women. It seems beautiful until you get to know it.” I have a feeling I’m going to hear about that.

message 3009: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments Yes, actually. Coffee has a tranquilizing effect on me. It has something to do with susceptibility to distraction.

message 3010: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments Thank you, Alex. It’s a glass ingot.

message 3011: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments It’s funny you mention that, F. Coffee and sour mash are two of my favorite things in the world. If I ever start mixing them, I’m ruined!

message 3012: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments Why would anyone drink decaffeinated coffee? It would be like drinking a tequila-free margarita. What’s the point?

message 3013: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Odd how different bodies are. I can drink coffee and not feel the caffeine at all. I have no idea what people mean when they say 'coffee buzz' or 'caffeine messes with my heart'.
Of course, it has devastating effect on my body's pH balance, but that's another story.

message 3014: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments Old No. 7 is one of my favorites!

message 3015: by [deleted user] (new)

The bombshell's wishy
washiness, drove Alison
to the wall. She picked
the guideposts from the floor to
look for an inspiring quote.

message 3016: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments “Thou shalt not uncork
a genie, a she-devil
in a bikini.”

message 3017: by [deleted user] (last edited May 17, 2013 03:29PM) (new)

Lol the bombshell has too much exposure already :) I like it, M.

It's now my turn for a cup of coffee. Good morning pirates!

-the sluggish peasant :)

message 3018: by [deleted user] (new)

'Fine', Alison said.
She would not let the genie
cause pandemonium.

message 3019: by [deleted user] (new)

She clapped her hands, pul-
led out a sword, ran to the gen-
ie, shouting a word.

message 3020: by Caitlan (new)

Caitlan (lionesserampant) | 2869 comments Bombshell disappeared
in a poof of smoke, appear-
ing the wood roof.

message 3021: by [deleted user] (new)

And that was the end
of the bombshell's forlorn tale,
M would not forget.

message 3022: by Caitlan (new)

Caitlan (lionesserampant) | 2869 comments But there's more to
this story! M walked in and
saw Alison's glory!

message 3023: by [deleted user] (new)

Very nice, Kat and K! :)

Alison survived!
Behind her was a pile of
rubble. M could not
believe, he blinked more than twice.
She was worth all the trouble.

message 3024: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments Meanwhile, back at the
Tumbleweed Ranch, rustlers chased
the lone heiress, Blanche--
Old Man Bates’ willful daughter.
By dusk, they hadn’t caught her.

message 3025: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Bate's master chaser
was hired and given carte blank
to run and chase her.
His love took him to the trees
where he called 'Come home Dubois!'

Everyone there stopped.
They looked at Blanche's hunter
as if he was mad.
Stan didn't care, not one bit.
He was there for God and her.

message 3026: by [deleted user] (last edited May 18, 2013 03:29PM) (new)

His heart grew weary
as time passed by. He searched high
and low, gone through the
winding road but Blanche, his rai-
son d'etre, was never found.

message 3027: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments LOL! Poor Blanche!

message 3028: by [deleted user] (new)

She was in the lost
And found corner of the school
Cafeteria, waiting for
Arthur, the love of her life.

*kindly disregard :D

Good morning and good evening :)

message 3029: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Late afternoon/early evening here. Nice continuation, so why would I disregard? LoL!

message 3030: by [deleted user] (new)

Lol. I'm thinking of a better scene for her :)

message 3031: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments How did Blanche get downgraded from an heiress running from rustlers to a woman hiding out in a cafeteria? At least she could order the most expensive thing on the menu.

message 3032: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments She read too much Tennesee Williams; it deranged her mind!

message 3033: by [deleted user] (new)

Lol! Sorry, M. I'll try to redeem her when I'm done with the grocery but I'll probably ask her to help me first.

message 3034: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments Blanche, thinking fast, knew
what to do. She ordered wine
and tiramisu.

message 3035: by Guy (last edited May 18, 2013 10:38PM) (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments A good chianti,
red, went straight to her blond head
and loosened her skirt.
The young pimply faced waiter
would be sipped not much later.

message 3036: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments I am just sitting here howling!

message 3037: by [deleted user] (new)

Hmm, we're not having a re-run of the blond bombshell, are we? :D

message 3038: by Guy (last edited May 18, 2013 10:34PM) (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments LOL!
Only if the women in Haiku woo us to do it. Woo, woo!

message 3039: by [deleted user] (new)

Hahaha I'll vote for the office with the typewriter :D

message 3040: by Ryan (new)

Ryan | 5334 comments A weak reply to some absolute gems...but I know M will smile -

As the dumb waiter
ran shaking hands through blonde locks,
they came off! A wig!!
A fast forgotten affront-
underneath...Emily Blunt!

message 3041: by Ryan (new)

Ryan | 5334 comments Guy!! I just read your earlier line - 'Bate's master chaser'...and snorted coffee out of my nose! Genius ;)

message 3042: by Guy (last edited May 18, 2013 11:50PM) (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Thank you Ryan! Sorry about the nose and waste of perfectly good coffee. I've done the same a couple of times after reading M's in the morning at work.

message 3043: by Caitlan (new)

Caitlan (lionesserampant) | 2869 comments LOL. Guys, these are brilliant. And this stupid keyboard sounds cool like a typewriter, but is totally sucky to type on. :P I just want my laptop back.

message 3044: by Ryan (new)

Ryan | 5334 comments Phew! I would've been disappointed if I'd managed to write an Emily Blunt haiku that didn't rate a trademark 'Al eyeroll'...

message 3045: by Caitlan (new)

Caitlan (lionesserampant) | 2869 comments haha, Ryan....

message 3046: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments LoL! Love it. Nice to see Emily back in the thread! But what or who is going to be under Blunt?

message 3047: by [deleted user] (new)

Lol! *speechless*

message 3048: by [deleted user] (new)

grunting..

Emily had to
think fast-again, to save her
busted disguise so
she searched for a magic pill,
Poof! She became Chris Hemsworth. (harhar)

The waiter, who was
Jonathan Meyers behind
the mask, stared in disbelief.
Glumly, he took off with the
wine and the tiramisu.

message 3049: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments Who pulled this stunt? Just
when I thought my longings were
vanquished--felt assured
such dreams had languished--someone
has mentioned Emily Blunt!

Ah, but it’s Sunday.
I’ll put aside shame. Brethren,
gather in her name.

message 3050: by [deleted user] (new)

Captain! We need eye rolling here :P
