Zack Ignorance is bliss
The teacher teaches the fool
All that is nonsense

M | 11617 comments Empty chairs each way
I turn mean no one to teach
and nothing to learn.

message 2855: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments Tyrants torched the books,
from whose smoke an impassioned
lust to learn awoke.

M | 11617 comments As priests were giving
thanks, a goddess walked in, and
she was wearing Spanx.

played footsie with whips.

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments once bitten

His canines scored skin
softly along her neck and jaw
while she greased his palms.

Jim Agustin (jim_pascual_agustin) | 625 comments i am getting scared of you folks... :P

message 2862: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments How he howled when she
sank her teeth in the monster
that arose beneath.

Finding the zipper
of her dress, he soon grazed the
curly watercress.

She left his mounting
hunger sated, but her charms
were overrated.

message 2863: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments LOL! RotFL! M, what a excellent turn at the end! Is this even a genre, erotica Haiku? LoL! Great start to my day. :-)

message 2864: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments Thanks, Guy!

message 2865: by [deleted user] (new)

Confusion came forth as
she scanned the dark vast room
for her fishnet hose

sorry, my first :D

message 2866: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments Very nice! You’ve already got the hang of it. And you’ve gotten things rolling again . . .

message 2867: by [deleted user] (new)

Thanks, M, it took every ounce of my courage to write it :)

message 2868: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments A goblet broken,
its sherry spilled in the slant
of a stray moonbeam;

a quick word spoken,
the piano stilled, then a
blood-curdling scream.

Jim Agustin (jim_pascual_agustin) | 625 comments Ice cream on forehead

Leslie, great first effort! And thanks for getting Haiku rolling again. (And no need to apologize here in WSS for creating some verbiage!)

M, lol!

Jim, silliness! You have joined us in silly-ville!? Oh frabjous day, callooh, callay. Very funny. RotFL!

message 2871: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments Has silliness crept in? Grab the crosses and holy water.

message 2872: by [deleted user] (new)

Ice cream, crosses and
Holy water for the
Creeping silliness, just kidding

message 2873: by Caitlan (new)

Caitlan (lionesserampant) | 2869 comments Just kidding about
the ice cream? Darn it, it seems
she must go elsewhere.

message 2874: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments She wandered elsewhere,
as through a dream, looking for
Rocky Road ice cream.

message 2875: by Ryan (new)

Ryan | 5334 comments Drowning in liquid
RR dreams; chocolate death.
In terror, I scream.

message 2876: by [deleted user] (new)

Terror-filled scream lost
in the night of desperation
for nuts and mallows

Silliness definitely creeps in
the moment you least
expect, in an extraordinary way

message 2877: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Hello Ryan! We were just talking about you behind your back, wondering how fatherhood was treating you and missing your posts!

Nice return!

message 2878: by Zack (last edited May 10, 2013 08:16PM) (new)

Zack Shouting desperately
Fingers burning from the flame
Imagine the pain

but can only watch
eyes tearing from loss, as the
Last marshmallow melts.

message 2879: by Ryan (new)

Ryan | 5334 comments Hello Guy. Only saying good things I hope?! Fatherhood is a wonderful, time-consuming thing, thanks. I love it but would pay good money for a sleep-in! I've missed you pirates a lot though and am blown away by the great writing I've missed in my absence. I think I'm a bit out of practice, but thanks for the welcome...it's nice to be back aboard :)

message 2880: by Ryan (new)

Ryan | 5334 comments O Captain! My Captain!

Love your new photo :)

message 2881: by [deleted user] (new)

Pain is nothing but fleeting
like the song in my head
consigned to oblivion

message 2882: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments LoL! Nice, Leslie.

In oblivion
I found that what's obvious
is still hard to see.

message 2883: by [deleted user] (last edited May 11, 2013 03:03PM) (new)

lol, thanks Guy :)

Thoughts wander
making it hard to see when
the mind is somewhere else

Dishes, laundry and trash
are best ignored over
an enticing book

message 2884: by Ryan (new)

Ryan | 5334 comments Hello, Leslie! I don't think we've met yet...I'm really enjoying your haiku. Very nicely written.

Guy, love it! ;)

message 2885: by [deleted user] (new)

Hi Ryan :) nice to meet you and thank you, I'm still learning though, in order not to be thrown out of the ship :D

message 2886: by Ryan (last edited May 11, 2013 03:47PM) (new)

Ryan | 5334 comments Your words are my guide,
plotting a course across grey,
oblivious seas.

message 2887: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Leslie, only two things you could do would get you expunged from the ship: stepping on one of M's mice, and getting caught stealing Al's coffee covered espresso beans.

The singer's hi Cs
dallied with cooling zephyrs
and the ocean's breeze.

message 2888: by [deleted user] (new)

Thanks for the heads up, but how many mice do I have to watch out for? (aside from the one who blatantly offered a honeycomb. I refused it because it has a funny smell).

I've been searching for beans to munch. I would have taken it without knowing it's Al's. I suspect the honeycomb has something to do with the impairment of my sense of smell.

Dark clouds loom,
threatening a steady stream
of thoughts and imagination.

message 2889: by Caitlan (new)

Caitlan (lionesserampant) | 2869 comments Lightning in my mind,
your hurricane whirls around
my lost, jumbled thoughts.

message 2890: by Ryan (last edited May 12, 2013 04:02PM) (new)

Ryan | 5334 comments At the lost and found
store, I collected my thoughts.
No bag required.

message 2891: by [deleted user] (new)

My thoughts into words,
misconstrued due to ambiguity.
Not meant for mockery.

message 2892: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments These are wonderful! I’m still laughing at Ryan’s #4166. At least the speaker in that haiku had a few thoughts to collect. That puts him ahead of me.

This doesn’t follow at all, and I apologize for that. I thought of it on the way home from the camper this afternoon.

The healthcare problem
has gotten worse, I see with
utmost clarity.

I advertised for
a jiggle-free nurse, but now
they’re a rarity.

message 2893: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments Okay, here’s one that follows:

My thoughts were the last
notes the small orchestra played
before the ship sank.

message 2894: by Ryan (new)

Ryan | 5334 comments Wonderful, M! I've missed your wit. Both great and your jiggle-free nurse has me in stitches :)

message 2895: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments Thank you, Ryan!

message 2896: by Caitlan (new)

Caitlan (lionesserampant) | 2869 comments M, both of those are brilliant!

message 2897: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Great Leslie, M, Ryan and Kat. A pleasure to read before I crash for the night.

I was writing this one to Kat's but kept getting interrupted. So, out of sequence! Ah well.

Imagination
can spark Scylla and chaos
and ideas too.

message 2898: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments Thank you, Kat and Guy!

To be a Scylla
snack or be drowned? Alas, there
was no way between!

The Whirlpool made an
awful sound. His crew were lost
but their clothes were clean.

message 2899: by Jim (new)

Jim Agustin (jim_pascual_agustin) | 625 comments warm sand and sea foam
bulge into limbs and torsos
beached clothes breathe in, out

message 2900: by [deleted user] (new)

Funny, M :) Thanks Guy. You are all amazing, I am a fan :)

We're back to being
lost. Is there a
need to be navigated?

I can hear the Whirlpool.
The awful sound summons us
to the right direction.

*Can't move on with the Whirlpool
