Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Thank you Jim and Al, but true dreck. Serious serious dreck, as JC in another group would accurately assess and pass judgment.

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments (Shakes head.) Drooling? Really? But he's just a boy! (Shakes head, rolls eyes. Hehehe.)

message 2704: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Okay, I won't.

Hey! You're supposed to be in bed by now!

message 2705: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments I'll be shutting down shortly. I never take my computer to bed! What a strange thought.

soon as she began! It was
“Hot Lips” Houlihan.

message 2708: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments RotFL! Great start to my day Ryan and M. TY!

message 2709: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments I was due, she said
with inflection, for (cough) a
short-arm inspection.

message 2710: by Ryan (last edited Mar 01, 2013 04:32AM) (new)

Ryan | 5334 comments She had me feeling
like a dolt. Fumble, fumble...
then I drew my Colt.

message 2711: by M (last edited Mar 01, 2013 04:49AM) (new)

M | 11617 comments A crowd gathered, drawn
by the sounds as I let her
have it, all six rounds.

After a wild, tent-
shaking romp, we slithered, dazed,
back down to the swamp.

message 2712: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments LoL!

message 2713: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments Thanks, Guy! Ryan's was such a blast, and so adroitly written, that the temptation to follow it was irresistable.

message 2714: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Yes indeed! Such a great start to my work day! And now, to work I return.

message 2715: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments Alex! Wow! That’s a knockout, and you’ve got the rhyme down perfectly.

message 2716: by Ryan (new)

Ryan | 5334 comments I'm still laughing, M! So very witty, well done! And very well followed, Al! Excellent stuff :)

message 2717: by Ryan (new)

Ryan | 5334 comments As my right-hand-blue
crossed her left-foot-green, our lips
met, somewhere between...

message 2719: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments That’s excellent, Ryan! I look forward to following these.

Ryan | 5334 comments Thanks, M :)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments M, Alex, Ryan, wow! These are delightful! Amazingly funny and right on.

message 2722: by Ryan (new)

Ryan | 5334 comments Haha, that is brilliant, Guy. Fantastic and very funny :) Thanks, too!

message 2723: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Hello Ryan! Thank you, but it doesn't even touch yours, Al's and M's. 3920 is so elegant and funny and Haiku at the same time. Truly well written!

message 2724: by M (new)

M | 11617 comments Butt-blue poured wine and
fanned the flames. The old hi-fi

message 2725: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Belly, fantastic! M, so funny! Hairy James, indeed! LoL!

message 2727: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Thank you.

Hi Al! Have you listened to Ry Cooder's soundtrack to Paris, Texas? There is some truly exquisite music in it.

message 2728: by Caitlan (new)

Caitlan (lionesserampant) | 2869 comments These are some nice haiku's guys :D

Guess what? National Haiku Writing Month is over :( I'm going to be posting each haiku I wrote in my writing folder, if anyone is interested.

message 2729: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Kat, nothing stopping you from extending it another 31 days! I've done several of them, but forgot about it for this year.

message 2730: by Caitlan (new)

Caitlan (lionesserampant) | 2869 comments Haha, well, the main project I'm doing this year is called the Glory Be! Project, and the goal is you write once a day, every day, for a whole year. So I'll still write haiku's but it won't be every day, haha :D

message 2731: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments But you already do that, I am sure!

message 2732: by Caitlan (new)

Caitlan (lionesserampant) | 2869 comments Yeah; the second part of the project is to record it, and at the end of the year, everyone who participated can trade notebooks :D

message 2733: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Oh! You mean actual pen on paper writing! Wow! I didn't know anyone still did that.

message 2734: by Caitlan (new)

Caitlan (lionesserampant) | 2869 comments (nod) That's how I usually write stuff, before I transfer it to the computer. Helps me make the words flow better, makes it seem like they're not sterile.

message 2735: by Ryan (new)

Ryan | 5334 comments These are so good to read, M, Belly & Guy...really well-written. Guy, the name-play in your last was brilliant!

message 2736: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Thank you Ryan! I have fun playing with those kinds of things.

Kat, I have discovered that, at least for myself, that writing with the computer helps vitalize and vivify my writing. It is fascinating just how differently each individual approaches and expresses their own creativity.

message 2737: by Caitlan (new)

Caitlan (lionesserampant) | 2869 comments *highfive*

Do you not like handwriting? Or is it something like you can't read it once you're finished? XD

message 2739: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments LoL! The exact opposite. I love LOVE handwriting. I spent hours and hours doing handwriting scales when I was studying and practicing calligraphy. For example, here's a link to a sample of my calligraphy.

No, what has happened is that I can think and express more easily with the computer and keyboard than pen and paper because of the ease with which I can move text. That ease has freed me from feeling that each word has a kind of weight or rigidity. Thus writing with the computer for me has become far less uni-directional, perhaps approaching multi-dimensionality, even if my ideas are forced by the limitation of words towards singularity. In a way, the computer has allowed my method of circular thinking and inter-contextuality to be more easily expressed.

But I sure miss doing the calligraphy! I only do it for cards and things, now. I did one last night for a friend whose husband died last weekend at the age of 57!

message 2740: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Yes, 57 is a few years more than me, and younger than my wife, so it is shockingly young!

Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Belly, this is bizarre and funny, and interesting and unique.

message 2741: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments And what makes this young death doubly shocking, is that we worked together for about 8 years. He was my boss for about 1 year, and I played poker with him every two or three months. So... shocking doesn't describe it.

message 2742: by Guy (last edited Mar 02, 2013 05:10PM) (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Thanks Al, Frances and her family will appreciate it. Bill was very well liked and was active in his extended family and within the community. He was a really great guy.

He looked at the girl.
Her cooties were so cute he said
'Let's exchange our spit.'

message 2743: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments LoL! What a funny image that brought to my mind!

message 2744: by Caitlan (new)

Caitlan (lionesserampant) | 2869 comments Belly, just a heads up, you don't need to title and put whom your haikus are by. We know who you are, haha :D and if you're continuing a string of haikus (or just generally) the title is really distracting and unnecessary.

message 2745: by Caitlan (new)

Caitlan (lionesserampant) | 2869 comments It's not a rule, per se, just something that isn't done very often, and breaks the flow of the words.

message 2746: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Sorry, Kat, I'm with Belly on this one. I like his titles, and it isn't a rule.

message 2747: by Caitlan (new)

Caitlan (lionesserampant) | 2869 comments I never said it was a rule. Am I the only one who doesn't like it? I just think it's distracting and draws away from the haiku. But do what you want. I honestly don't care anymore.

message 2748: by Guy (new)

Guy (egajd) | 11249 comments Kat, Belly's titles are interesting and I see them as part of his Haiku - since this really is a thread of Haiku perversions far more so then 'real' haiku anyway.

message 2749: by Caitlan (new)

Caitlan (lionesserampant) | 2869 comments Didn't I just say I didn't care? Not to sound blunt, but Belly can do what he wants. I was just stating my opinion. I said go ahead.

message 2750: by Caitlan (new)

Caitlan (lionesserampant) | 2869 comments Belly, sorry for sounding blunt. Do what you want; what you feel goes best.
