pull out a chair, smile, and slide
the scarf from her hair.
She walked for a dayTo her surprise and dismay
All her guys were gay.

The cook picked a toothas patrons ducked or scattered.
A stammering cry
rose from the third booth
as the flying shoe splattered
a woman with pie.
The apple pie splashed in her facecreating a terrible mess.
Face covered in pie she turned to stare
at the lady who ruined her dress.
Oh how lovingly at each other they glare.
Here stomach growls, disagreeing with her mind
To stay indoors and avoid
the lunch line til' she goes home
Mind over body,The grail dream of the well schooled
Who yearn for new gods,
But mocked with ease by kidneys
Doing what comes naturally.

Lol! Really? Well, it describes me too. And, I suspect, many of us who are open and curious and filled with wonder and trepidation. :-)
