Would it help if I milked the venom out of him first?
'Fancy that!' he said,with dying breath. 'Charm isn't
everything, I guess.'
Don't you die on me,his love said, sucking venom
from his bitten head.
She wasn’t a girlto bring home to Mother, nor
merit much bother:
lithe and lusty as
any another--the kind to
bring home to Father!
Not usuallyinto sharing, on this night
she was not caring.
The father willing,
but his son not so daring,
left her fire flaring.
(I don’t know how I wound up with this.)“Drive foreign cars? I’m
not the sort!” the tart exclaimed.
“I’m a Ford escort.”
On Sunset Strip, herlost bikini soon paid for
a Lamborghini.
Looks alone can takeyou far, but soon they'll run out,
like gas from a car.
When she was younger,
she bloomed like a rose though her
life was full of thorns.

The chill woes of dawn,unwanted invaders, storm
my fortress of dreams.
Dawn's fingers find usadrift on marigold waves
in moonbeam oceans.
Three unlooked-for does,their speckles, their eyes, as woods’
shadows mark day’s demise.
